    Seafood soup WOZA! :)..

Good Lord what a great place! Hubby & I rolled in here needing some strong Cuban coffees to go! Score!!! Walking in, the place looks brand new, totally adorable & smelled so good we decided to hang around & stuff our faces while we were there with whatever they were cooking! Yeah! Lol We got their signature coconut cream seafood soup with the giant crab & the beef tacos, which are suppose to be their most popular dish. YUM! We have not stopped talking about this hidden jewel since we got back home! :)... The seafood soup was 2.die4! Hubby & I ate the whole thing. Then we fought over the tacos! Hand crafted tortillas from their own dough. Succulent tender quality beef seasoned to perfection then topped with super fresh cilantro & avocado. I never eat beef tacos but these? These have stolen my heart :).. They come with a red & green salsa. Warning: The red sauce is very very very HOT. I mean it's VERY SPICY. My whole face was burning for the remaining 5 hours drive home. Use sparingly or prepare yourself for torture lol The Cuban coffee with milk was delightful. Hubby drank them both. Good times ;) We are already planning our next trip back here! We can't wait to return! Highly recommend :)'

    Honduran Dinner

The last time I ate here the food was absolutely delicious. The same unfortunately cannot be said about this particular occasion. I called in an order from their website for the chicken and shrimp dinner which also came with rice and plantains. The lady on the phone said 15 to 20 minutes I told her that would be perfect. Especially since my hotel was only 5 minutes from the restaurant. I arrived at the restaurant about 12 minutes later. Figuring I would just wait until my order was ready. I walked into the restaurant and to my surprise my order was ready. So I paid for it including the credit card fee which I've never encountered at a restaurant in my entire life. I get back to my room Now keep in mind it's only 5 minutes away from the restaurant. Settle in and decide to dig in. Well the food was cold plain and simple. Let me change that the chicken and the shrimp were cold. While the rice and the plantains were warm. I was able to warm the chicken up in the microwave. I did not do the same for the shrimp because I did try one of the cold shrimp and it was already tough so putting it in the microwave would have just made them rubbery. Definitely not worth the $18 plus dollars ( which wasn't even close to the price on their website which is $11.99) which included the credit card fee.I honestly believe that restaurants not all but many are doing their very best to take advantage of their customers. By overcharging them for small portions and poor quality food. Again definitely not the same place I remember from a few years ago.

Great brunch- get the Honduras & cafe con leche!!!

Ready, set, BRUNCH!!! This hidden gem is tucked away down Thomas Road, just past the infamous Duck Commander warehouse. Who knew such a cute diner existed in the West Monroe area?! Start your day off with the delicious & addicting Cuban cafe con leche or espresso- it takes a few minutes to prepare but is well worth the wait! (no need for Sbux haha!) It was my first visit here and based on reading previous reviews, I settled on the Honduran platter. That was the best decision ever!!! It's a skirt steak, migas (eggs cooked to your liking- I got scrambled eggs), black beans & rice, avocado slice, Honduran cheese, fried plantains & crème fraîche, served alongside 2 homemade corn tortillas. Service was quick and friendly, despite the lunch rush hour. Latin Foods certainly deserves many more visits in the near future. I am a total fan of this local diner and cannot wait to try their other food fares! You had me after my first sip of cafe con leche! You certainly will love it as much as I do!

Yummmy! As a proud Honduran I approve. We found this place on the way back home to NC and damnnnn so authentic, the portions were huge and customer service was great. The only thing is I didn't like the location. But that's it. Totally recommend!

    Cuban Coffee

Almost missed this place.... super small exterior on a busy industrial street. Inside is roomy, clean and very bright! We were greeted by a friendly voice and big smile. I ordered Papusa and my wife got the Pork Chop Ceibeno. We also ordered a side of sweet plantains and fried yuca as well. Everything was amazing!!!! Fresh tasting and done to perfection! After our main meal my wife ordered a Latte and I had a small coffee. Both were exquisite. Wish I had ordered a large now. There is no doubt we will be back, even though it's a two hour drive! PS: You should def give this place a try! UPDATE: Went back and tried the Baleadas..... oh my..... also finished our meal with Tres Leches. Our waitress remembered our visit three weeks earlier and was so sweet. Dominica was super and even gave out hugs when we left! I've added another photo from this trip.

Not disappointed at all in anything we got! We orders to the table; Ground Beef Ceibeño, Baleadas, Pupusas, Tres Leche along with 2 expressos!! We loved it all and will be back for sure! We come to Monroe offer by way of Arkansas and always want good food when we come and Latin Food stands out for us now!

All of the food was excellent we eat... service was friendly and welcoming as we walked in and quickly seated. It appears to be a restaurant where the local go, and for good reason.

    Amazing tacos & coffee

Owners Paul (the talented chef) and Kate bring such a personal touch to everything--they clearly care deeply about their customers and stopped by our table to chat, ensuring everything was perfect. Their genuine hospitality made the visit extra special. The food itself is outstanding. Everything is truly farm-to-table, with the restaurant sourcing all of its fresh ingredients directly from local farmers. You can taste the difference in every bite--the vibrant flavors, incredible freshness, and quality that only comes from supporting nearby producers. I especially loved their great specialty coffees, which paired beautifully with the seasonal dishes and breakfast/lunch offerings. The plates were exceptional, highlighting the best of what our region has to offer. We'll definitely be back soon (it's breakfast and lunch only, so plan your visit accordingly!) and will be recommending Lula Perl to all our friends and family. If you're looking for great service, exceptional locally sourced meals, and that wonderful personal care from Paul and Kate, this is the place! Highly recommend.

Everyone was so friendly, the menu had a wonderful variety and our selections did not disappoint. My taco salad was made with fresh veggies, delicious seasoned beef and yummy guacamole! I…read morewas hungry, so I checked to see what was around me and not too far next-door was a restaurant that I probably never would have went into just by looking over but I promise you it was worth it. When first going inside there is what looks to be like a small general store and the opening to a bar right behind it with people sitting having drinks and talking but more of a country cabin feel bar to it. I kind of felt out of place but went in anyway and asked if they were still serving. They said sure come on in and order at the register with the menu and then just have a seat in the room next-door, which had tables and chairs felt like picnic table and chairs, or you could sit on a chair near the bar which I did because it seemed kind of cold with the air condition blowing in the dining room area. I was skeptical as if it was a local joint because people kept looking over at me but I'm glad I didn't run. I ordered a 9 ounce ribeye and it was one of the best steaks. I think I have ever tasted outside of the near the Grand Canyon in Arizona. It was so juicy and flavorful. I wish it was closer to my house. It would be a weekly meal. I believe the price was like $29 and you had, two side items. I started out with a Louisiana style gumbo, which was very good and tasty but the star of this show with the steak. While eating the cook came out over to my table and asked how everything was and with my mouth full of tender juicy steak, I could just shake my head and she would just laugh. The steak was so perfectly seasoned and had so much flavor with the perfectly cooked pink center . I normally prefer fillet mignon because there is not much fat and I don't care for fat, but I caught myself not only I say sucking on the little fat pieces but actually eating some of it if it had a little meat on it. As my sides, I picked green beans and Black Eyed Peas and it came with a cornbread muffin which I carried with me and ate in the car on the way home. The cornbread muffin was sweet and cake like so I'm glad I didn't get dessert because this was just nice. Yes yes yes a nice steak, and it brought all the Texan out in me. I hope I can find this restaurant again on my travel back to my mom's from Georgia.
