Bums hanging around outside drunk. The vending machine doesn't have any soap or products you could buy. It's just empty. I really need to find a different laundromat now.

We've visited one other laundry mat in town, and this one is by far the best. Between the cost, the cleanliness, and the friendly management it's all worth a visit.

I do not have a washer or dryer so I must use local laundromats. I tried this one because it was in close proximity to my residence. I couldn't imagine a worse experience when it comes to just about everything you would expect from a laundromat. The lady(who described herself as the sister-in-law of the owner) was very rude and not helpful at all. If anything, it seemed like she took pleasure in seeing me struggle. I was born in this town, I work downtown as a professional, and I have absolutely no reason to give someone an undeserved bad review. Then again that lady had no reason to give me an undeserved bad attitude. I stand by my words.

Note that on Google Maps this is listed as "BBJs Laundromat" but the storefront and Yelp say "Laundrymat". There's a lot of stuff here, including a softly-playing radio and a small clothing shop, and vending machines. The one thing it DOESN'T have that you'd kind of expect from a laundromat is a change machine...no electronic bill/coin return. I spent a solid five minute pacing the place looking for one; it looks like one exists but is out of order. Instead you have to find and ask the lady walking around with the little fanny pack full of quarters, who I *think* is an owner (?) and speaks mixed English. This wasn't a problem overall for me but I feel it's be easier if they just had a coin machine (and what happens when that lady's not there?). No comment on the driers yet as my stuff's still in the wash, but so far I'd say this is a good place to go.

We're new here in Bakersfield and stopped in to wash. The first lady we saw was Rosie and she smiled and greet us. I told Rosie i wasn't familiar with the machines and she gladly stayed with me and patiently showed me how to use the machines. Then I also met Val who was cleaning the lints and wiping down the machines - Val smiled and stopped by to see if there's anything i needed. These ladies kept the place so nice and clean that I wouldn't mind coming back week after weeks just to get smiles and outstanding customer service because they made us feel so welcomed. A couple of weeks later we met Abdul who also became a favorite customer service as he was so funny and always have a great story to tell :) We can tell Abdul loves his job and also gave me advise to try out some of the detergent pods sold at the place that might save me some money and possible efficient cleaning then my big old Tide bottle of detergent. So i went ahead and purchased the pods from machine and to my surprised - it worked ! my clothes are clean ! whoo hoo ! Thank you Abdul ! And Thank you Laundry Man for hiring these individuals as they are all outstanding workers and its the reason why we will keep coming back to do laundry here each weeks ! My dad passed away a few months ago while I was living out of state. I was able to set up laundry pick up and delivery for my mom as she is homebound. This has been such a wonderful service and Alex has been so very helpful along the way with any questions and helping us learn how the app works. I have since moved back home and we plan on keeping our weekly pickups. It gives me one less thing to worry about. The laundry bag they provide is easy and convenient! It's really been a blessing to send out whatever we need and have it returned the next day with everything folded and hung nicely. Also they do offer a discounted rate if you subscribe for regular pickups. Thank you Laundry Man for easing our load during this difficult time! Almost beautiful for a laundromat, the facility is in excellent condition. A card-based payment system is used which you load with a kiosk - no coins required. All the equipment worked during my family's visit to Bakersfield during a road trip(September 14, 2025). Vending machines are available for drinks and snacks, and there is some seating available while you wait. Plenty of folding tables. The on-site attendant even provided a refund for my payment card, as I had deposited more money than required for my loads. I would definitely use this location again read more
