Whoohoo! As good as it gets! I really mean it!! That was my impression of Laura after working with her toward the purchase of my first home. As a first time home buyer, I was really unfamiliar with the process, and I have to be honest that it was Laura who did most of the steps for me. She was the person who got me in contact with the bank to get me approved for the loan amount necessary to purchase my condo. Whenever I saw a condo that I was interested in, Laura would zip down from wherever she was to get me a private tour and then go into all the details that redfin would never disclose. I know she has other clients, many more, but she really gave me the impression that I was priority. Laura has great turn around time. Both of the offers that I put in had a 24 hour turn around. We would meet up at Starbucks and sign paperwork, sometimes the day of, and the ball got rolling before I got home that evening. I was able to win the bid on a short sale after my second bid. If you're aware of the short sale process, it can take up to a year to get a short sale approved. Working with Laura, the short sale went through in a blink of an eye. Within a month, the bank approved my offer. And then a month later, we were in escrow. It was very fast! I was informed later that I wasn't the highest bidder, yet Laura's charm with the buyer somehow got me to the top of the stack. She's got a great energy about her, and you really are in safe hands if you are determined to buy a house. She still stick by you, and you WILL get your dream home. This review is long overdue (Sorry!).....We first met Laura at a condo in Foster City during the holidays last year and that was the first place we went to as an open house. She was there with her sister and something about her (I still can't pinpoint it) felt comfortable and we chatted about the CRAZY housing market. We parted ways and I just kept her card in my purse. A month after going to a whole bunch of open houses, we knew that we needed a good agent in this really tough housing market. So, we decided to set up an appointment with Laura and on that day, she gave us a listing of which properties to look at and consider. At first, to be honest, I was a bit intimidated knowing that her clientele are usually buyers/sellers of multi-million dollar homes. But, she never made me feel that way at all with her genuine smile and thoughtfulness. She also connected us to one of her Wells Fargo loan agent that worked wonders and answered all our questions for pre-approval. Unfortunately, the process kept on dragging as we'd see one nice house after another with a lot of overbidding going on. Once we saw a few homes we liked, we'd ask her to see if we can meet up with her. We relied really heavily on Laura's intuition (which is great!) and feedback on what would be a deal breaker to have in a home. She narrowed it down to the top 3: neighborhood, security and school district. With this in mind, it gave us better focus. She said the amount of offers does not equate to our success and at times, told us that certain homes are not worth writing on. So, after only 5 written offers and 6 months of searching, we finally found a place with a multi-million dollar view and great neighbors. She was even able to turn us onto some new neighborhoods that we hadn't considered -- but that were good matches for us. We ended up settling in one of those locations! She helped us become comfortable with the realities of finding a home in the bay area. This included how much to bid on listings and how to best structure offers to make them more compelling to the sellers. She was extremely patient and spent plenty of time, often late into the evening making sure our strategy was set. We also had the experience of seeing her in a somewhat "non-standard" situation. We ended up in a situation in which our deposit became at risk and things became extremely complicated. Sparing the details, i'll just say that she exemplifies "professional integrity". She helped us through this tricky situation helped to resolved the situation in a manner that was satisfactory to all, and avoided a protracted legal fight (the only other possible outcome). She has a network of people that she works with (contractors, painters, gardeners...) and that is helpful if you need someone to come look at something to get a sense for how much it'll be to actually fix up. I presume on the sell side its useful for her to setup and stage places. But i've only been on the buy side using her.
