My first impression before we even met was how organized and detail oriented Susanna was - after reaching out to view a couple of her listings before we even met for the first time we were corresponding over email for the types of things that were important for me in an apartment so that she could find other listings to view as well (a great kitchen for me, and lots of sunny spots for bird watching for my beloved cat). The second impression when we met was immediate integrity: real estate in NYC doesn't have the greatest reputation for honesty... from exaggerated details in listings, to bait-and-switch photographs that doesn't represent the property (or are of a completely different property) I was relieved to see that Susanna's listings accurately represent what they look like in real life. And unlike some agents or brokers that I've interacted with who just want to make a quick deal, I always felt that Susanna was patient and wanted to make sure that I found the place that was right for me. It's not an exaggeration to say that I was a very nervous client - not only with crazy market volatility in interest rates, but as a first time buyer just seeing the prices on listings sent me into a mild panic. As well as helping me find great listings to consider, Susanna also gave me some more general advice around how to think about an offer (e.g. size of down payment) and convinced me to meet with a financial advisor to make sure that I was making a financially healthy suggestion. Along with putting in my offer, Susanna also helped with her network - connecting me with an attorney, and even making an introduction to a loan officer - I'd initially gotten pre-approval with my primary bank, but I got a MUCH better rate and first-time buyer package from the introduction Susanna made. Finally, working towards closing, I had some tight dates to meet with my lease ending in my old apartment, and Susanna helped keep things moving along when they were stalling with the seller. At the start of 2022 I had no intention of even moving apartments, let alone making the switch from renting to owning, and now at the end of 2022 I'm in this amazing co-op - I'm so happy that I had the good fortune to meet Susanna who was able to help me on this journey. I've just crossed 3-months in my new home and I can't believe how lucky I am to have this apartment - the neighborhood, the building, the amazing light, it's like a dream come true! Anytime we felt unsure of what we were supposed to be doing/if we should be doing something/how to do something, a quick call or e-mail to Lisa would help us get back on track. Buying a home involves a lot of patience and the belief that in the end, it will all work out. I cannot tell you how many times Lisa would reassure my husband and I that even though there was work to be done, she would help us and do everything necessary to help us get our property. She makes recommendations and is never pushy. Lisa has the ability to set realistic expectations and follows through on her promises which are two qualities that make her as amazing as she is.
