I just had a full brazilian and stomach wax done with Laura today. Setting up my appointment was a breeze. She's generally quick to respond, highly cordial, and extremely friendly. She's down to earth but knows what she's doing and makes you feel at ease. We did have to reschedule my first appointment due to issues on her end but it was entirely understandable and just as much as things can come up for us, so can they for the people we see. Which, in the end, professionals are still just people, and Laura really makes you feel less like a dollar sign and more like a friend. She also goes above and beyond to properly serve you. Or at least, she did for me. She was patient and understanding about my pain tolerance and extremely supportive throughout. The results look great as is, though obviously will look better with proper healing time allotted. She even gave me some strips to help with the stomach healing that she didn't have to do at all, but did out of the kindness of her heart when I told her I walk everywhere and would have to walk to get some otherwise. I feel so bad for being unable to tip because her service was bar none spectacular through and through. Hopefully spreading the word is means enough and there's always next time to tip! I had a full brazilian and upper leg wax with Laura. Let's just be honest, spreading your sensitive naked lady bits to a stranger to get your hair systematically ripped out is one of the most uncomfortable, painful and awkward things to do. Laura makes it as easy and comfortable as it gets though. She has a way of making it seem natural and totally normal. She had an 80's music station going and we talked about all the good classic movies that they reminded us of and we laughed and talked throughout the whole thing. She made it feel like I was just haning out witha girlfriend for a couple of hours and not paying someone to torture me. that is a gift in itself! As far as the actual waxing, she is incredibly skilled and thoughtful. She takes the time to look at the direction of hair growth and wax you accordingly. The pain was not that bad, mainly because she was very efficient and swift with her movements. She doesn't give you a lot of time to psych yourself out. I'm definitely glad that I went to Laura for my beautification. I had never had a facial or a Brazilian wax, and I had been having issues with my face breaking out from previous waxing. Her home/office was very comfortable, and she was great at communicating everything to me in a clear way that helped alleviate my nervousness about the whole situation. The facial was amazing; it's been years since my skin has felt this smooth and blemish-free. It was a very relaxing experience, and I was in love with pretty much every product that Laura used because they smelled/felt so amazing. I was pleased with the results of everything, and the Brazilian wasn't nearly as painful as I'd always imagined! She is incredibly skilled at her craft and so commited to excellence that she has no opposition to taking a pair of tweezers to the darkest, most sensitive part of my female anatomy to remove a stubbon, ingrown pube. She embodies a certain... je ne se qua that puts me completely at ease and almost makes me forget entirely that I'm on all fours with my balloon knot completely exposed. I go to school at Humboldt State but I live in the Bay Area. I had my first brazilian down in the bay at a small salon and was impressed but felt a little rushed. When I went to see Laura my experience changed for the better. She is very knowledgeable, professional and kind. She makes you feel comfortable and her home salon is very cozy and less daunting (in my opinion). Most importantly though, she takes her time. I didn't feel like I was another customer that she had to get in and out as quick as possible. It was less painful overall and I was less red than my previous experience. I felt like a criminal when I called several businesses around Eureka about the waxing service they advertised. Most told me that they only served women, not men. I was nervous about the process in the first place, and dejected because nobody wanted to deal with men in Humboldt county. Laura was a breath of fresh air. My first time getting waxed ever and I started with a Brazilian, so of course I was going into this thinking I was about to be in a lot of pain. I was totally wrong, she was very professional and did a great job! I have already scheduled for another next month. I highly suggest taking the time to do this for yourself and get rid of those ingrown hairs and dingle berries! Trimmers will never be capable of such a smooth grooming!
