The coffee shop was a nice feature, but we were disappointed that it wasn't open on our way out of town Sunday. We understand why it's closed on Sundays, but the coffee shop, also being open to the public, should be open on Sundays if they're going to use this as a selling feature for coming to Big Mike's. The parking pads are a decent size and we had one right on the river. Since we were there in October, there wasn't a whole lot to do especially in the creek. It was evident at the time that big Mike was still working on expanding and building his dream RV park. The open area field is perfect for families so kids can run around or play ball. Overall, it was clean and the shower facilities were one of the best we'd experienced on our travels. We highly recommend big Mike's RV Resort!

There is a nice little creek running next to some of the sites. It is a short walk to the New River. We saw several people enjoying the river just wading in and some fishing. WI-FI was great- best we have had in a park yet. The owner Tom was great helping people in and out of their spots if they needed it. If I had to pick a negative- no camp fires - but it was worth not having one to stay in this beautiful place with great scenery. The staff at Sugar Hollow are friendly and accommodating and are continuing to expand their facilities. While we were there, the laundry area was completed and six new "long term" sites were cleared by inspectors. It is a remote area of Tennessee, but has all of the necessities within a ten minute drive. Do yourself a favor and check out the wood fired pizza at Smokey Mountain Bakers nearby. The six cheese is our favorite. And if that doesn't satisfy you, larger metro areas are with a 30 minute drive.

The site was level. We did have to use a longer hose for water connection. There are a number of "permanent" residents and some of their sites could have been better maintained. There is an area behind the park for tent camping that has a pretty creek with some picnic and play areas. Some mention highway noise but it didn't bother us. We camped at Pioneer Village Campground in a Fifth Wheel. There is nothing to do in Max Meadows but we weren't looking for that. Wytheville is a short drive and has everything you could need. The Log Cabin 1776 restaurant is a must as well as Skeeters if you like hot dogs. We made a trip to Bristol and really enjoyed hanging out for the day.

Mind you we had our rv park there threw the year but we only stayed 3 or 4 wks every 4 months . So we weren't there all the time at first it was 700 a month with wifi included and ele was 25cents per killerwatts that adds up pretty quick by the time we decided to leave they were charging our card 900 a mo th and pre charge for months we were staying cause they put t our card on auto pay becareful of that . Tennessee has plenty of other rv camps that are alot cheaper
