They struck the perfect balance between making everyone feel safe and keeping the trip fun and entertaining. You could tell they genuinely love what they do. The Nolichucky Gorge is absolutely gorgeous. Between the rapids, calm stretches, and mountain scenery, we couldn't stop smiling. It was adventure without feeling intimidating. As for value, I honestly don't know of many experiences that give you this much fun for the money. If you're looking for something different to do with your spouse, family, or friends, this is it. I'm not a high rye girl, but add I'll admit, I really enjoyed numerous samplings. Their bourbon was stellar, but the creamed bourbon stole the show! A sipping dessert. Definitely recommend making a reservation for a bike ahead of time to guarantee a spot at your desired time. And be sure to arrive 30 minutes before so you can get set up with a bike. I read all the reviews and watched lots of TikToks about the 17 mile bike ride itself--it's described as easy and mostly downhill. Based on all of that, I rented a regular bike but regretted that decision later due to the amount of uphill stretches there actually were. Maybe my bike seat was not adjusted to the correct height for me, but I thought the ride was very challenging and my quads were on fire. I was actually worried I might not be able to finish and would die alone somewhere along the trail--and I could barely walk when I got done with the ride. I would recommend older or out of shape cyclists consider renting an e-bike instead of a regular bike. I saw lots of seniors riding back and forth on the trail with big smiles and I realized it was because they were on e-bikes. There is a small store that sells ice cream, water, and has a bathroom (basically porta potties) about an hour into the ride and after that, there is nothing. There is a big grass parking lot behind the building with plenty of room for cars.

The tour went all over town and started at the granite quarry and then around town learning about Andy Griffith. The cost was $50 for the ride (not per person). We loved hearing stories and our driver was willing to answer all our questions and keep us laughing all the way! This is a definite must do if I return again. We saw that this cavern wasn't too far away as well and decided to see what a North Carolina cave had to offer. This was the 26th cave/cavern that we have visited in the US. We enjoyed our tour. Our favorite part was standing over the grate with the water down below! It was a unique experience and very cool. The class II and III rapids were the perfect size for us. It was slightly challenging in a few places but nothing terribly difficult. It was absolutely exhilarating! Our guide Eric was incredible! He was super knowledgeable and really seemed to know the river very well. We all felt really lucky to have him as a guide. After watching a few other color rafts/companies get stuck continuously, we knew we chose the right people for this adventure. 10/10 will definitely be back again. We had so much fun ebiking in Banff last summer that i thought it would be fun to do in Asheville…read moretoo. I booked the easy ebike ride which was a 12 mile bike ride into Tennessee. We had a 2pm start (1:30pm arrival) and were the only people registered so private ebike tour for us. TJ was our guide and he was training someone so we ended up with 2 guides, which was great. Both of them were very knowledgable about Asheville, nature (i learned what poison ivy looks like) and biking. It took me a few minutes to get my ebike bearings, but then were off. The first part of the ride was on gravel, which was a little tricky, but it was all good when we hit the road. It also started raining and we got pretty wet...i couldn't decide if the rain made the ride miserable or more fun. Maybe both! The biking itself wasn't too hard and honestly we probably could have done it on regular bikes and gotten a workout, but i do find ebiking super fun. We stopped a few times, which helped with our sore butts and learned about the area. A few hours later we said goodbye to our new friends and headed back to Asheville (about an hour away). They also offer many other activities like white water rafting so recommended if you're looking for a little adventure.

However, I want to focus on Bob Benfield, the greatest bus driver and quite possibly human being I have ever met. He drove for Bob Rogers Travel and I will put this review there as well. Bob puts his entire heart and soul in everything he does. He travels with mints in a basket, cold water and soda, which he wraps in paper towels for cold hands. He brought all the equipment needed to clean the whole bus. He travels with it. He has dad jokes a plenty but also vast knowledge of every place we passed. He drove through a terrifying snowstorm and we barely noticed. He's steady and pleasant no matter what, and this includes some creative city drivers. I was in the front seat and this man would see me take off my sweater and turn the temperature down. His life resumé is amazing and I could have listened to his life for hours. Simply the best person I have met. For Bob Benfield alone I give all his associated employers 5 stars.

Answers to any "fun quizzes" were always acknowledged by the people in front though people in the back would indicate that they also knew the answer. Apparently she regarded any comments as complaints to the extent that she loudly announced to a full restaurant that " I can never satisfy them, they are always complaining". I had always heard positive reports regarding this company before purchasing a tour but NEVER again.
