This Electrician is the worst! Do not use him. The1st tech Michael the owner sent addressed me as mommy. When I first heard him say it I thought I didn't hear him correctly so I asked him what did you call me, he did not respond but then later said it again so I corrected him by saying, please don't call me mommy, it's inappropriate. The 2nd time he called me mommy I told him he was being unprofessional the third time he called me mommy I said to him, do not f+++++ call me mommy I am not your f+++++ mommy. His response was I love women I never disrespect women, you are being difficult. The second tech came to fix the unleveled outlets and light switches. He did not have a level with him and insisted they were fine. I said where's your level? His boss, Michael, told him to go to the store to buy one! The tech was so angry that he scratched up several walls in a newly renovated apartment. I photographed the damages and sent via text to his boss which of course they denied it. There were no other workers in that apartment while electrical was being done so the scratch marks did not magically appear. The 3rd Tech showed up just in time to go to lunch! He was on the job site for 30 min and when he came back he kept leaving to go to his car for tools. Because I was being charged by the hr I asked him why so many trips, but got no answers from him. He started to work on moving the junction box for the towel warmer because it was too high. He wanted to open up an entire wall to move the junction box from 6 inches down. I said to him, "why do you want to open an entire wall when you're going down and not over?" He did not respond. Installing the junction box involved chiseling into a bearing wall- brick. He started chiseling away without having put anything protection down on my brand new expensive porcelain floor . "Are you freaking kidding me" so I asked him to stop so that I could cover it with construction paper. Which was the best I could do. I photographed the area and covered the floor. And as he chipped away the bricks I kept sweeping up after him. Again not my job! I watched him periodically drop his tools on my brand new floor! I asked him several times please don't drop your tools this is an expensive floor. The last time he dropped his tool I said he would be responsible for damages caused. The last time he left he spat up a lungi on my doormat in front of my apt door! I saw it when I needed to step out for a min and was so mad!!! I called him over and asked him what is this? He responded by saying it must've flown out when he blew his nose. "Lungi's don't fly out of the nose, splatter does." He came back inside and called his boss and said in front of me and my maintenance guy that " I was being rude" his boss Micheal said just leave. So he left leaving a huge mess on my floor and throughout which I then swept vacuumed and washed the floor to check for any damages left to the floor. 1 tile was badly scratched up which we never discussed. The boss Micheal was supposed to send someone else to finish which he never did. So I had my architect contact him. And Micheal said Monday at 9. Monday came and no one showed up so I called and texted he. He finally texted back and demanded more money. Money for work he did not due cause he lft. WOW! There is no amount of money that you can save or that you can spend that is worth putting up with people that disrespect you and or your property! read more

I called and spoke to Mike and asked if they would be able to repair track lighting . He said yes and said he could send someone today and the minimum would be 175 .00. I agreed . 3 hours later 2 very nice electricians came , wiggled the bulbs and said they could not repair it . I was ok with getting a replacement but then he stated he would have to collect 175.00 I asked for what if he didn't make the repairs . He said a service charge. I told him he didn't repair anything and I was informed 175.00 would be the minimum to repair the light NOT A SERVICE FEE. The electrician called his boss Mike who LIED and said he told me the price was for service fee only. I WOULD HAVE NEVER AGREED TO THAT PRICE. He SAID.... minimum to repair the light. After speaking with him with his aggressive argumentative tone , I paid the two electricians who were apologetic about what occurred. Do not use this crook - nothing was done as he said or to nyc code , extorted more funds constantly and wouldn't come back to complete anything without major issues and more extortion . After paying 3 times the initial quote I had to sack him and start again with a new Electrican , at the cost of $10k to fix his mistakes. Do not use.Took my money to install standby generator.Never did the work .Kept giving excuses and never gave my money back.Reported him to attorney general and better business bureau.He told them he would pay off in installments.Never did. Agree with the reviewer who says Don't just walk but RUN from this company. DO NOT CALL LAURELTON, they are the WORST. Cannot be trusted. Wish I had seen the yelp reviews before. I didnt even realize its this company until after they came home, because I had called Efficiency Electrician, Bronx but they routed us to Laurelton which I didn't realize until it was too late. Took $200 unfairly after he said a visit for a quote would cost nothing! His guy came to take a look and give a quote and ended up disconnecting all our appliances and outlets in this time - just fiddling with the wires. I didn't realize this until after I gave him a check of $200 as advance for materials for installing a panel box. Once I realized the appliances had stopped working, he had to stay back to fix the fuse box, which he did in 15 minutes. I had second thoughts after this experience and called Mike to cancel the job. Mike the owner says well he spent 2 hours at your place (FALSE) so I am charging you for it. I was like it wasn't my fault and it wasn't two hours either. Mike hangs up on me and later hung up on my husband refusing to even have a conversation. Laurelton electricals and owner Mike are TERRIBLE - Mike what about the cost to my time waiting while Nava fixed the problem he created! So after posting my review of this business last week the owner Mike called me and basically apologized for what I went through with his employee Oscar. He said if I choose to use Laurelton Electric he would give me a $250 credit towards any new job. He promised my 3 LED high hats would be delivered in the next 2 days. After a heavy thunderstorm at the end of July the power line got detached from my house, I called the Laurelton electric - Michael B. Scheffler, in charge. A technician came and I was ask to pay $200 a deposit for the job that supposed to be done next day, they didn't show up. It was an emergency job that requires immediately fixing. The job was done by a different company. Since then I called 5 times - every following Monday and still can't get my money ($200) back. Every time I called and spoke with Michael - I was getting a story: I sent you check, you will get it shortly, the mail is slow now - it goes from Florida, etc. Still didn't get the money from him. Against my better judgment I went with this company despite minimal online reviews since they were referred by Generac. I hope this review saves people of a lot of brain damage and wasted time. I was quoted 6-8 weeks for the install with NYC permitting etc. which was fine but it ended up taking a year to get the job completed and signed off on. That included following up with ConEd and Dept of Buildings myself and going down there in person. Don't expect any project management at all. According to the plumber, Laurelton Electric dba and Mr. Generator still owes him $1,200 from my job when I have paid Laurelton over $22k already. He has tried to add in permit fees later (included in the contract) and tried to tack on NY sales taxes which is exempt on Capital Improvements. Google TSB-A-06(18)S for the NYS tax opinion on the exempt status of Standby Generators. He also tried to bill me for 90 ft of installed pipe when 58.5' as installed, that's a pretty high waste%. If you do decide to go ahead with a project with Laurelton, make sure your payments never get ahead of the progress. I made the initial deposit on 9/17/16 and he didn't even order the generator until the end of Nov. and he got it from electric generators direct and not Generac so he's not even a real dealer, just an installer. Had 10 missed appointments and 4 days where they arrived late or left early without finishing the task of the day. He didn't even request the permit sign off until May the following year. My family and I had to deal with a massive trench in the backyard and keeping it dry and covered all winter. It took so long it even delayed the patio work we had planned for the spring. So, it you value your time, money and sanity, I would personally look elsewhere. read more
