Firstly I want to say THANK YOU Nicole! From the moment I met Nicole I felt that I was meant to find her to be my Birth Doula. She is not only kind, understanding and respectful but she truly loves to help all her mama clients I cannot count how many times I text or sent IG messages with worries or concerns and she promptly responded to ease my mind. Nicole is these 3 C's: courage, calm and confident! I could not have picked a better doula for my delivery. When we met via zoom, I immediately loved her strong sense of confidence. I had had a c-section with my first baby, a VBAC with epidural with my second baby and now I was attempting a VBAC WITHOUT an epidural in the hospital with my third baby. I needed someone in my corner that was strong, calm and confident and would be there to remind me I was more than capable of birthing my baby without pain medication. I was pursuing a hospital VBAC with my second baby and her insights from the moment I chose to move forward with her were not only comforting, but evidence-based and grounded in her over 7 certifications (Spinning Babies, VBAC, Dona, etc.). She helped me with everything from late night musings of if I accidentally ate raw fish to physically supporting me through over 20 hours of labor at Kaiser Anaheim. Choosing Nicole as my doula was one of the best decisions I made during my pregnancy and I could not be more grateful for her presence during my birth. Her being there was a total game changer. She spent two whole days with me at my attempted home birth. I had horrible back pain the entire time and she played a major role in alleviating my back pain. We had a wonderful experience with Nicole. Her classes are informative and she as a person is so kind and supportive. I would 100 percent want her in my corner again if we have another baby. Even though my birth ended in a c-section her last message really helped me feel better about things. *Even as plans changed, I was still in control in the end.* I had started experiencing a temp and felt a sharp pain in my previous section area and discussed with the Dr if having another section was necessary. We waited until another bonus of epidural kicked in and by then it looked like more than 30 mins of pushing so we decided better safe than sorry. It wasn't necessarily the ending I wanted but more than anything I wanted my baby to be okay. I took a 5 week online childbirth class and learned so much in those 5 weeks. I wish I would have done the same for my first baby. Each class was organized and had an agenda of what we were going to learn. I was able to ask questions as we went along. Not only was the material that was presented well researched but it was well delivered. Nicole is an amazing teacher. The topics covered ranged from birthing techniques (both natural and c-section), to breastfeeding, birth stories, birthing plans and items to add to your baby shower postpartum (which I never even thought of) . This is just to name a few of the things discussed. Anything you can think of when it comes to having a baby was covered. I attended Nicole's online course in order to prepare for the birth of my first child. I was very nervous, but with the knowledge of her classes I felt prepared and excited for the birth of my son. As labor neared, I had tons of questions. I basically should've had Nicole on speed dial She was always so quick to answer and was so knowledgable, she calmed me and put me at ease every time. She also showed some great relaxing and pain relief modalities that really helped relieve pressure in the weeks leading up to labor. Even during labor, when I felt the nurses were forcing me into procedures I wasn't comfortable with, Nicole gave excellent advice on how to handle it. I did exactly as she said and it resulted in exactly what I wanted! After birth I still had questions regarding breastmilk storage and when I was deeply struggling with breastfeeding. Nicole is a gem of a person and the support person you want during your pregnancy and labor. She is very educated on all things pregnancy and labor, has the calming personality you want while also being an advocate, and goes above and beyond to be your go-to during this most important time. We learned so much from her childbirth education class (which is included with all of her doula packages), and I felt so supported by her during my pregnancy as she was consistently the person that I could count on to respond to my questions or concerns timely and make great suggestions. This was indispensable for this first time mama and anxious person! We ended up changing providers in the third trimester, and Nicole agreed to stay has our doula even though we were planning to birth well out of her geographic range. That said, when I started early labor, which lasted days, she was there supporting me (in our hotel room, hours from her home). She truly was on call for me in this most intense time, checking on me regularly which felt so comforting. I ended up transferring to a hospital unexpectedly, and she was there soon after I was admitted. While the hospital was previously something I felt intimidated by, her support and presence helped me feel truly empowered in this birth setting, able to make the best decisions for myself and my baby.
