Spartan installed a polyspartic garage floor coating with a lifetime warranty. During the…read moreinstallation, the installer jumped off the back of the box truck and sprained his ankle and as a result, did a poor quality job of installing the product. Recently, the surface is cracked, chipped, and flaking (see photos). Originally, the Genevieve at the office agreed to have someone come out and look at the problem, but stopped returning phone calls. I submitted an initial warranty claim to her via email, and was then asked to submit another claim online which I did. A new franchise owner came to our home and initially agreed to give us a complete new floor and agreed to begin work on Saturday August 1st. He then contacted us stating that someone would be out with a grinder to take samples the week of August 3rd. After having a neighbor (who is a concrete contractor) looked at it, he thought the best fix would be to cut out the impacted area, and seal it with a product called sika flex caulk. The new franchise owner then agreed to do that, but stated the work would not be guaranteed, I agreed to this proposed settlement. Today, I learned that they intend to do nothing. I asked if they could cut out the chipped and cracked product since it requires a grinder with a diamond blade, and I would caulk it myself. I am currently awaiting another response from them. Calls and emails to the corporate office remain unanswered. I would like at least some repairs done under their lifetime warranty. They applied the product directly over concrete expansion joints which may expand or contract in the future. Had I known this I would have requested that no product be installed over these expansion joints.

We hired Ben and his helper Zach from Almagre Construction to tear down two 20 year old small decks…read moreand replace them. Ben's rates were middle of other estimates. He didn't pressure me to do anything I didn't want to do. Their workmanship was skilled and fast. We did run into one problem with sump pump drainage being in the way. Ben did this extra work to reroute plumbing for the cost of parts, but didn't charge for the extra labor. Ben over engineered the new decks including 6" X 6" posts instead of 4" X 4" posts. Ben also recommended some design changes to my plans, making the limited space more useful and better ascetics. I highly recommend hiring Almagre for your next backyard project.
