I would not recommend this company…read more I chose them because the scope I discussed with the account manager included replacing my flooring and installing a new vanity I had already purchased. I verbally confirmed that scope with the account manager and paid an invoice that included a line item for that portion of the work. Despite that, the installer arrived without all of the necessary materials and informed me he was not comfortable installing the vanity. To be clear, I have no issue with the installer declining work he wasn't comfortable performing. What I do have an issue with is being told afterward that vanity installation was never included, despite it being discussed with the account manager and being a major reason I selected this company over other bids. The installer himself encouraged me to request a refund for that portion of the project, but the company only provided a partial refund ($180). As a result, I am left with an unfinished project, a sink currently being held up by a 2x4, and the need to hire a second contractor to complete the work. What should have been a straightforward bathroom update has turned into a major headache. By the time the project is finally finished, I will have spent significantly more than the original quote, despite choosing this company because I believed they would handle the full scope of work from start to finish.

In November 2025, I sought bids to have hard wood floors put in a bedroom I am converting into a pantry and to have my existing kitchen and entryway refinished so that everything would match and I would have ample time for the floors to cure before the pantry installation. Knots Flooring was one of the companies that came to bid the work but I ended up using another company and it was one of the biggest mistakes I've ever made in my life. After two other companies came out and totally botched three refinishing jobs, I had to swallow my pride and reach back out to Knots Flooring for help. Athena was so lovely and gracious when I reached out to her to apologize for not using them and when I admitted that I really messed up but I needed their help desperately. Regardless of my poor decision making, they didn't hesitate for one second to come to my rescue. My pantry installation was scheduled to start on February 10th and despite the short notice, Knots flooring put me on their schedule immediately so I could keep the timeline for my project while allowing ample time for the job to be done well and for the floors to cure. Not only were Athena and Danny amazing and reassuring, I can't say enough about what a phenomenal job Renato and Julio (Cesar) did with my floors and the care and respect they exhibited for my house by taping everything off, removing my baseboards that were messed up by the other companies, securing my house, the incredible clean-up afterward, and all the little things they did to make my floors look beautiful and exactly what I was hoping for. We engaged them to…read morerefinish our old red oak floors, which had a very dinged-up old finish and areas of water damage, and an extremely orange color that we wanted to get away from. Laura brought many red-oak samples with different stain colors for us to keep in-house for a few days to watch with different lighting until we knew exactly which stain we wanted to go with. (We chose Provincial to give us a pretty mid-brown with a kiss of warmth from the oak coming through.) Alex was always on time, kind, attentive, and hard-working. They were willing to split our job into two phases for us, so that we could move all our furniture from one side of the house to the other for the work to be done. The finished floors are BEAUTIFUL. The color change was exactly what we were looking for, all the water damage is gone, gaps are filled and completely camouflaged with the stain. Our floors feel silky under bare feet (we went with the satin sheen). Most importantly, I had expressed concerns ahead of time about the stain finish on the oak tambour island in the kitchen, which meets the floor without intervening trim, getting messed up during the floor refinishing. Alex worked that area completely by hand, and the result was pristine - the floor around that was refinished perfectly, right up to it, but the tambour staining was not in the least marred. We 100% recommend this small family company, and will return to them in a heartbeat for further services.

I want to start by just explaining this isn't a carpet company that installs large areas of carpet…read more They primarily focus on repairs and look to you to have the carpet on hand or they can also cut out carpet from another part of the house to use. For us, we wanted to change out the first few steps on our staircase that gotten really from our kids and also the wear from stepping on them a lot. They were a little bit too roughed up to get deep cleaned and seemed to need you be replaced altogether. Nip and Tuck can do this for $50 per step (we did 5 steps for $250 total) but you need to provide the carpet. I went to Home Depot to pick up carpet samples and ultimately made my best guess. We over compensated on the amount before and spent about $90 on carpet. They were able to schedule us quickly and got the job done. But it was a bit of a pain going back and forth with the scheduler to understand their service. Initially she had suggested to cut out a corner of one of our closets.

He also installed new MDF for the stair risers (not painted yet in photo since they don't handle painting). Floor has no creaks in the rooms/hallway and looks beautiful. Pricing was fair and the best I could find in the area, and they were good about removing the costs for anything I handled myself (I removed old carpet and LVP, etc.) even though there were a handful of staples I wasn't able to pull myself from the stair risers. Just one word of warning, make sure you measure your floor space yourself--their measurements for the work were off by about 50 square feet, which would have made a big difference in the number of boxes of material I had to purchase. I think this was probably accidental from them including the bathrooms but given that _every_ floorer I spoke to provided inaccurate estimates it's best to just do the measuring/math yourself.
