Having two separate areas for the dogs, big and small size, helps too so that pups stay in their weight class. Winni loved going to Four Paws, and each time came home and crashed from all the fun. Four Paws was also very accommodating with a Pup Bus when I could not get her to daycare or home. I trusted this facility to care for my two family members while I took my children on vacation…read more Within three hours of being at the facility, my 2 year old Maltese was brought outside WITHOUT a leash. She got loose and was lost in the woods for two full days. My dog sustained injuries to her leg, paws, and belly. The owner claims my 6 lb. dog bit her husband, which resulted in him dropping her. If you look at the pictures of this man, you have to laugh. Again, my dog weighs 6 lbs. She is terrified of everything, which I'm sure her searchers can attest to. She has never bitten anyone before, and she certainly didn't bite any of the heroes who brought her home. Furthermore, I brought two leashes to this facility, and neither was used. Thanks to the kindness of strangers, my dog was found. The owner did not apologize once for putting my dog in extreme danger, ruining our vacation, and causing my family extreme stress. She also has not contacted me to find out how the dog is doing. If she disputes anything I have said above, I have the text messages to prove that everything I have written is true. This facility should be shut down. No one family should have to go through what we have experienced. The only good thing to come out of this is the realization that there are angels everywhere. Complete strangers worked relentlessly to bring my dog home. For that, I am eternally grateful.

I recently moved to Maine and contacted Kara's Petcare on the recommendation of my vet. I was so…read moreexcited because it seemed like they would be able to offer daycare for my dogs and some auxiliary training if needed. They also said they did transport to the daycare facility and boarding on occasion. It seemed perfect. I should mention that there are Kara's pet care facilities in Portsmouth, Berwick, and Falmouth. First I was asked to set up a meet and greet with one of their associates at my home so she could meet my pets. It took me many tries to get through many unreturned phone calls, but finally we did set up the meet and greet and that went well. Then I was asked to set up an app and an account before we could actually schedule any dog care. So I set up the app and the account. Then I was asked to drive my dogs to their facility to see if the dogs would "be happy there." So I drove my dogs 25 minutes to the facility. When I got to the facility I was told that they were supposed to stay there for a day assessment and then I should come and pick them up. This was not communicated to me earlier, and I had not budgeted an extra hour of driving back-and-forth. Then they would reschedule the assessment and they would come and pick up my dogs for the day-long assessment. All before any dog care could be scheduled. So, still not on the calendar. So to summarize: you need to go through a long process of scheduling a meet and greet, then you need to have the meet and greet, then you need to sign up for the app, then your dogs have to be assessed to see if they will be happy. I'm just thinking that anyone who's busy enough to need dog care is too busy for this multilayered, multi-step, poorly communicated process where phone calls, texts, and emails are returned only about half the time.

Rob has improved the quality of our daily lives with our two dogs more than we can perhaps…read morecommunicate in words. After being hesitant about the investment for private lessons, we quickly realized what a tremendous value it was. We told everyone we knew after that first session that we would have paid the full fee if that first session was the only session. Our golden retriever, Huck, was quickly renamed by our friends and family as "good boy Huck" for his rapid transformation. We can now take him into just about any situation with a relaxed mindset and confidence that we have control over him on, or off the leash. Rob's no-nonsense approach put us at ease and simply worked. Our private lessons took place at our house, a couple of other locations "in the world" and ended with dog introductions at his house with some of the board and train dogs. Rob worked to deliver on every single thing we told him we were concerned about when we spoke with him before we started lessons, sometimes remembering concerns that we had long forgotten. We're now taking what we learned in our sessions with Huck to train our now 4-month-old puppy in the same way.
