It was a Friday night, so I considered myself lucky getting a seat at the bar. It was at the very far end, which meant I only had to worry about someone to my left. I didn't end them, but I bonus was, a hook and outlet was under the bar right in front of my stool. I didn't want the Friday special, even though some Fried Fish was tempting. All I wanted was some of their incredible hand cut and breaded onion rings. I paired them with a 6 piece bone in chicken wings in mild sauce. When served, I was pleased to see my order had equal flats and drums. The wings and rings were very filling. I ended up taking two rings and one flat and one drum home. They re-heated very well for the next days lunch. The service was a little off, but I will admit they were slammed. The bartender was slow on greeting and doing follow-up. It may have helped if they had an extra person behind the bar. Even a bar-back would have helped. They may have lost a star this visit, but I am sure they'll get it back soon. read more

Brickhouse has the perfect local dive bar feel but with a really nice setup inside. Huge open spaces, tons of TVs for watching sports, and long tables that make it great for groups and gatherings. The food menu has a lot of solid options, but the wings are easily the best in the area, huge, meaty, and packed with flavor. Great variety of beers on tap too. Definitely a spot worth checking out if you want good food, cold beer, and a relaxed atmosphere. read more

Took one of the kids out for lunch after her first flight class. Wanted to go somewhere new to us. We passed the place up at first. They have street side and an additional parking lot to the left. You seat yourself inside. They have outside seating in front and in the rear. I did like the aesthetic of the infrastructure. It's almost garage like with the windows and back opening area shaped like a garage. For the most part it's a typical bar and grill. They have decent size main sq shaped bar with 6 TVs and there's at least another 4 in our area alone. There was another banquet type room behind us. our server was nice. The timing was a bit slow. I tried one of their evening specials the bacon cheeseburger with fries. ( up charged to sweet potato) which they do inform you it's a $1 upgrade fee. The kid had the Spicey chicken sandwich with fries. She said hers was good. We split some Mac n cheese bites. I swear I did not notice they come with jalapeños inside. I was wondering why it had a bit of a kick to them. Upon receiving our meals. My fries seemed on the room temp side. we were too hungry to even make it an ordeal. As they brought me Out more anyways. Overall food was good. I'd give the bar another shot. I did the sports bar vibe. I'd like to enjoy it out in the back patio area when it's warmer out. read more

So, I did a horrible job with photos here! Must've been too hungry? A large group of us stopped in for lunch and had a lovely time. The open garage doors makes for a breezy, moderately cool interior. The service was good and the food was good too. I ordered the Brickhouse Shrimp Salad and it was light and tasty. Good bang for your bucks. Definitely a place to check out. read more

Lunch today with friends was wonderful. We had a great waitress and she was so kind right there anytime we needed anything the food was absolutely delicious I don't think any of us at our table left hungry at all matter of fact couple people took home it was so good and as always it's just priced right it's a good portion and you know you've gotten your money's worth. The only downfall is those wooden chairs at the regular tables are very uncomfortable the backs of them are very uncomfortable for people with back issues that's why today and anytime I go I take my Walker in with me but I don't sit in the chairs you offer I sat on my Walker because it's much more comfortable than the wooden chairs the backing is just not good for somebody with a bad back. I hate when I can't leave a great review but our experience really fell short. For starters it's a great looking restaurant. And it's a lot bigger than I expected. I will give them another try but we will wait until the weather is nicer and they can open all the doors. All 4 of us wanted to try the steak. It's a great deal and comes with 2 sides and a salad. The first disappointment was when our waitress returned to tell us they only had 2 steaks left. Ok...so two of us changed to the kabobs. Then she returned to say they were also out of baked potatoes. I should say here that we went early (530) on a Saturday night. Seems weird to be out of both of those. The kabobs were pretty gristly and tough to chew. The mashed potatoes definitely needed seasoning. We also tried an appetizer that was marinara with goat cheese. Sounded good but it was flavorless. They also didn't give nearly enough bread to dip in the marinara. It was a frustrating evening but our waitress was great and I felt bad for her. We may go again because I've seen so many food reviews but we will definitely try different items next time. read more

Laux Brickhouse is the best! A hometown classic. They have expanded so much over the years. Great specials every week you can depend on. My dad and I love Taco Tuesday & Wing Wednesday. Service is great at the bar and at the tables. Always kind, courteous, and clean! High tops, low tops, bar seating and more. They have live music on the weekends, the game on TV, and a good playlist. Owners are always out saying hi, and it's so great to see a Bethalto business succeed! We have been in need of a go-to place where the whole family can find something to eat. Some of our favorites include: pepper jack cheese balls, chicken bacon ranch hoagie, boneless wings, tacos, & the chicken quesadilla. Also great ranch, which is always important! read more

The fries that they serve here are among the best I have had. They are straight-cut fries, possibly double fried. The fries are crispy on the outside, delicate inside, dry to the touch and lightly salted. They taste of fresh, clean oil, maybe canola or peanut. Treated patrons next to me the same way! If you hate your job, find something that makes you happy. This also falls on management to train the employees. A couple of the bartenders are awesome..Savvanah as one. But one blonde gal and the bar "manager" are NOT it. Try to charge people for drinks they didn't ask for..and fight about it when customers try to correct them. They are not about customer service or customer satisfaction. The blonde took the money ON THE BAR for the tab and walked away with the cash trying to find the "hidden manager"..and never came back. Honestly Its sad. The food isn't even good. The food was the only thing that was a little bit of a disappointment, I had a steak which was extremely salty, beans were bland and mushy. We were in a fairly big party of 9 people. We ordered drinks and they came out in a decent amount of time. Then we ordered appetizers. It took probably 45 minutes to get them! I get that we are a big party, but the restaurant wasn't completely full, plus the appetizers we ordered were simply dips and fried things. Once we got our appetizers, our food came probably 3 minutes after that so I didn't have much time to enjoy. The shrimp salad comes with a spicy ranch. I asked for normal ranch as well. Our waitress brought the normal ranch, but forgot the spicy so I asked for some. Then she brought me another side of normal ranch. Finally tried Laux Brickhouse. Been so excited to come here. This place is always packed and so busy which is a great sign. My experience was far from great though. The server was way too busy. She stopped by to greet us but had to take two tables orders before getting our drink order and we sat waiting for a while. By the time she got back to us we put in drinks apps and food. Drinks came out and even though we asked for doubles we got singles so we ordered 2 more right away. Food came out but our appetizer (mozzarella sticks) never came. This was honestly the main reason we went. I've been hearing about these giant mozzarella sticks for so long. The food came out and wasn't hot. Huge disappointment. We ordered the Chicken Cordon Bleu special which tasted great even though it wasn't hot. The cat fish was a huge let down, and the pizza looked fantastic but wasn't hot either. Finishing my second drink I realized there was broken glass in my drink. I sucked it up through my straw. This was very concerning. I let the server know that they should tell their bartender about this. Will definitely give them another try but this was disappointing. read more

Ordered a beer and mixed drink.. 39 miintes later, ha e .ixed.drink, no beer.. Our waitress told.us that.we.had too many in our party (2). As a father of 5, I'm always appreciative of a bar/grill such as this that is family friendly and a good place to take my kids. They enjoyed watching all the games on TV in a fun atmosphere with live music. The pizza had great flavorful and a nice crunch, and the wings were a big hit with our crew! I've gone alot and they always over cook the chicken I've had it multiple different ways and it is always dry and tough just overcooked. shrimp tasts too clean like its been frozen and u thawed multiple times hard to explain. my husband loves the horseshoe.. Drinks are yummy and well priced! onion rings are another staple for us and they are always super greasy and breading falls off and you get burnt straight onion thats in grease but we can always find a couple out of the bunch that are good. I think maybe just a few tweaks in cooking times and batter and it would be awesome. but those mozzarella sticks are something to dream about read more
