George's has never disappointed me. I'll go out on a limb and say, it is probably the best pub food I have ever hand and I've eaten in a lot of them. I've enjoyed burgers, chicken wings, pork tenderloin and steak sandwiches. Plus, a variety of their steaks, Meatloaf and most recently, their fried chicken. Not to mention the variety of craft beers and the masterfully made, Mules. They get bonus points for serving the mules in copper mugs. My recent visit was for the Fried Chicken. I had plans to go on Friday for one of their Lenten Specials, but when I saw on Facebook that the Thursday special was Fried Chicken, I changed my mind and I am glad I did. The chicken was super crispy and full of flavor. The four pieces were good sized and the meat was tender and juicy. It came with two sides, the promo suggested, mashed potatoes with milk gravy and French style green beans. If you want to, they allow you to choose other sides off the menu. I don't know why somebody would want to, the sides they recommended makes for a Sunday Dinner feeling. The service is always great. All of the staff are friendly and the owner goes around talking to all his guest. I typically sit at the bar and I like that they have outlets and hooks under the bar. Outlets come in handy when you need a quick charge and the hooks for purses or a jacket. They offer live music of Friday and Saturday and the huge patio is dog friendly. We grew up in the area but was in town visiting family. Decided to head over for lunch! Everyone enjoyed their food. Burger was delicious. Wife got the avacado chicken sandwich and she also enjoyed it. Kids got chicken sandwich and grilled cheese. Would definitely recommend. read more

George's has always been one of my favorite places. But if you are one of the people, like me, who craved the chicken Alfredo....don't order it or you will be disappointed! It used to come full of chicken, bubbly hot in a casserole​ dish straight from the oven and covered with lots of mozzarella. Last night, a small amount with one piece of chicken was served on a plate, was Luke warm and no cheese. I couldn't believe it. I complained but was told it takes too long to make the other way. Good food if you enjoy being pestered by the owners. Our group was a town over and this was the best looking place that was still opened at that time. Our server was more intoxicated than us, and we had just got back from hitting the St. Louis breweries. She had missed one of our orders and struggled with our checks. The owner had overstayed their welcome at our table and personal lives by asking about all of our jobs. It felt like we were in an episode of hell's kitchen. If you can get past all that, the food was really good, I had a Mushroom Swiss burger and shoestring truffle fries. read more

This place has a really nice pizza and a really good burger. Good selection of adult beverages and a quality IPA on tap. Service is excellent and welcoming. Definitely an evening place or Friday afternoons. Need to return when they have live music. There is a patio environment as well as bar and table seating. Close parking is limited but ample within a block. Avoid parking across the street in front of the tropical fish store. The owner thinks those spots are his and will be a bit testy to downright rude about you Parking in a public parking spot. read more

Not bad for a small-town place by any means! The drink menu looked impressive. I wish there were some non-burger/chicken options, but it is what it is. What I ordered: I was very impressed by the coffee here! They have an espresso machine! It was delicious and foamy. For lunch I simply got a side Caesar salad, which had nothing special, but was good! My dad got the other salad on the menu and enjoyed it. Nothing wrong with this place, just nothing outstanding. Heed my warning, do not get the spinach dip! I've had canned creamed spinach that had more appealing flavor. The spinach was very clearly frozen, thawed, not drained, and then chucked into whatever creamy flavorless goo. The burgers are cooked on a charcoal grill. Which would be fine, if the patty wasn't grilled until it became charcoal. I've been here twice, both times the steak was an excellent option. Perfectly cooked and flavorful! Definitely go with a steak, yes to the green beans! But the Mac n cheese is also lackluster. read more

Terrible experience. Out of burgers (this is like 2/3 of their "sandwich" options). My husband goes to order a chicken sandwich, but wanted a different bun and cheese. Manager comes over and rudely shakes his hands saying "no no no, we don't do that here; you get it like it's on the menu." We both order the same chicken sandwich which is supposed to have cheese and bacon. Neither had bacon. Steak fries were burnt. As we were leaving, a party of 3 was walking out without having ordered, saying something about not having burgers. The rude manager says "you should have gotten here before 9". Ummm... we arrived at 8:10 and you didn't have burgers then. Guess the manager couldn't keep his facts straight with his drinking on the job. It gets worse. They remove comments from their Facebook posts that say anything negative, and they block you from their page. read more

The owners wife, whoever, was insanely rude threatening to sit other people at the empty seats at our table making the experience there unenjoyable. Never in my life has this ever happened to me. Checked this place out for lunch with some extended family on Monday. Bethany served us and she was great! Super friendly and on top of it! I had the chicken avocado sandwich. The chicken was cooked perfectly. Of course, I forgot to take pics of it! Sweet potato fries were a welcome addition to see on the menu, as most places don't have them. The cheese curds were a huge hit with the whole table. They mentioned they also have live music pretty often. I loved the decor, old pics of the town, and the ceiling is very intricate! I believe this place could be great if they stopped trying to be gourmet and tried to be great. The steak kabobs tonight were definitely not tenderloin as the special said they were a cheaper cut possibly teres Major. The sauce that was drizzled over the steak tasted like motor oil and had no flavor other then something burnt. The burger I ordered tasted ok and was presented great, but it was over cooked and dry. Place looks amazing and had several draft beers available. We didn't really care for the food I got cheese curds and they were pretty burnt and the wife got a bbq pizza without chicken and she didn't care for it. Great little bar and grill for a small town. The pizza was amazing. The beer selection was top notch and the staff was very courteous and fast especially when I stopped in on a busy Friday evening. When you live in a small town you are limited on choices but this place is somewhere that I will keep coming back to because they have something other places don't. They have good food, good beer selection which by the way was ice cold, and a great staff which in many cases can make or break a place. You get five stars from me!!! read more
