The restaurant is open, good seating, the display of pizza in the case is very appealing and appetizing. Its decor is well done. The pizza has fresh ingredients and tastes great. Crust is perfect. The lasagna was good but I would rather stick with the pizza. Just my taste. I did have the cannolis and compliments to them- they were authentic. Creamy, crispy shell, and the pistachio and chocolate chips were very good. My favorite. I suppose my only complaint was the pizza and lasagna were a little cool. It should have been a little warmer. The other issue which I hope they take note and move right away is the trash for plates and silverware. It is directly next to the fresh silverware and takeout boxes. That caught my attention and it's not a good place for the trash. Definitely plan to come back, it is worth coming and trying all the food items they have. Next time I might try one of the hot sandwiches and maybe some gelato but definitely the cannoli. That is the make or break for this NY Italian. Thanks for coming to the Domain. I am excited you are near my work. Best of luck.

As an unapologetic East Coast pizza snob, I usually approach Texas pizza with a massive amount of…read moreskepticism. I've spent my life chasing the perfect crust, comparing everything from the legendary pie shops in Manhattan to the pristine corner slices in Pittsburgh. I didn't think Austin could pull off truly authentic pizza. I was dead wrong. Baldinucci is absolute sorcery. The moment I took a bite of their Roman-style pizza, I was instantly thrown back to the tiny, narrow pizzerias I stumbled into in Italy. It has that exact, hyper-specific airy crunch that is so incredibly hard to replicate outside of Europe. The dough is clearly fermented with patience. It's light, shatteringly crisp on the bottom, and has those beautiful, irregular air pockets that give it a pillowy structure without ever feeling heavy. Let's talk about the sauce, because that's where most places fail. It isn't that sugary, paste-heavy stuff you find at standard joints. It is vibrant, bright, and tastes intensely of sun-ripened tomatoes and clean olive oil. It is remarkably fresco; striking that perfect balance where the acidity cuts through the richness of the cheese without overwhelming the palate. The vibe inside the West Lake spot is casual and unpretentious, but they take their craft seriously. Food service is streamlined and efficient; you order at the counter, and they pop the slices back into the oven so they land at your table screaming hot. The staff is genuinely proud of what they're slinging, and they should be. If you are an East Coast transplant drowning in a sea of mediocre pies, do yourself a favor and get over to West Lake. It's the real deal. PS: The gelato flavors are also sorcery. However, a review of their gelato is for another time. I must continue to savor the pie for now.

Lucky for me they were having a $25 lunch special for Austin Restaurant Week. Every single thing was soooo good it reminded me of Italian food back home in Boston and New York. Ingredients were fresh and imported! The owner was super kind. I couldn't have asked for a better experience :) I'll definitely be back for dinner and this time I'm bringing friends!

Lamar at the bottom of the MAA building with free parking in two nearby garages. Please note the building signage states Pizzaria Sportiva. The restaurant has a large outdoor patio with visually appealing greenery. Also, the restaurant is divided into two major sections - eating area with a bar and dining room used in the evenings. On Friday Enteca Sportiva celebrates its 9th Anniversary according the owner, Al. The ARW menu featured three courses. My selections included 1) Meatballs in a marinara sauce 2) lasagna with beef and Italian sausage and 3) raspbery sorbetto (sorbet). The meatballs were super large with thick and flavorful marinara. Generally speaking, lasagna has more noodles than meat. This lasagna had more meat and sauce than noodles...blew my socks off. OMG, the homemade raspberry sorbetto reeked of raspberry flavor and oh so smooth. Tracy, my server, my courses pretty quickly with the first two courses steaming out. This restaurant's food was amazing!
