As an unapologetic East Coast pizza snob, I usually approach Texas pizza with a massive amount of…read moreskepticism. I've spent my life chasing the perfect crust, comparing everything from the legendary pie shops in Manhattan to the pristine corner slices in Pittsburgh. I didn't think Austin could pull off truly authentic pizza. I was dead wrong. Baldinucci is absolute sorcery. The moment I took a bite of their Roman-style pizza, I was instantly thrown back to the tiny, narrow pizzerias I stumbled into in Italy. It has that exact, hyper-specific airy crunch that is so incredibly hard to replicate outside of Europe. The dough is clearly fermented with patience. It's light, shatteringly crisp on the bottom, and has those beautiful, irregular air pockets that give it a pillowy structure without ever feeling heavy. Let's talk about the sauce, because that's where most places fail. It isn't that sugary, paste-heavy stuff you find at standard joints. It is vibrant, bright, and tastes intensely of sun-ripened tomatoes and clean olive oil. It is remarkably fresco; striking that perfect balance where the acidity cuts through the richness of the cheese without overwhelming the palate. The vibe inside the West Lake spot is casual and unpretentious, but they take their craft seriously. Food service is streamlined and efficient; you order at the counter, and they pop the slices back into the oven so they land at your table screaming hot. The staff is genuinely proud of what they're slinging, and they should be. If you are an East Coast transplant drowning in a sea of mediocre pies, do yourself a favor and get over to West Lake. It's the real deal. PS: The gelato flavors are also sorcery. However, a review of their gelato is for another time. I must continue to savor the pie for now.

In a city filled with amazing pizza joints, Baldinucci is definitely near the top of the list…read more Located in West Lake Hills, I was pleasantly surprised by just how many pizza options they offer. They're especially known for their Roman-style pizza so I highly recommend giving it a try. As for flavors, you really can't go wrong but the standouts for me were the Potato, Chicken Parm and Lasagna slices. They also serve calzones, New York-style pizza, gelato and wine, so there's truly something for everyone. The pizza is priced by the slice, which makes it easy to mix and match like I did, though you can also order a full pie. I will say this definitely isn't cheap pizza, but you're absolutely paying for quality ingredients and incredible flavor. I ended up taking mine to go, but they do have a few tables inside and outside if you want to dine in. With plenty of parking, fast service and mind-blowing flavors what more could you ask for from a pizza spot?

The wines change from week to week. You get a sheet with each wine that shows the flavors, region, year and color. The staff was so friendly and wonderful to our table. We started off with the wines of course. Then we all shared appetizers. The marinated olives in a light lemony oil and garlic were to absolutely die for! And a very large bowl as well. It was plenty for 5 people to share. Then was the delicious, totally fresh caprese salad. The balsamic vinegar was perfection! Enough for all 5 of us to sample as well. The bread and dipping oil was the freshest bread ever. The oil was lightly flavored but did enjoy dipping it into the balsamic vinegar for a little extra kick. It is in a great location with FREE parking garages on both sides of the plaza! Don't know of anywhere else you can park in Austin for free! This is a true Italian family that runs it so you know everything is scrumptious. It's a very quaint atmosphere with a nice size TV if you want to watch sports on. Glad we had our ladies night here and we will be back again!

Ok, this restaurant is not known for their chicken wings, they are known for pizza but these are cooked perfectly, I'm drooling just thinking about them. not fried and they come with ranch. Calzone, three meats, supreme pizza - if you are a fan of Italian food, you will enjoy these. Lots of cheese and toppings. I was surprised there was a fried egg on top of the pizza! Haha. I also love how there's arugula on the pizza forcing me to eat my veggies. You can also order pasta and other non-pizza dishes from the It's Italian Cucina menu. If you haven't been, you should check them out! They are pricier than this pizza place though.

Close second to VIA313 Cadillac. The cheese blend Kizza has got a bit of brie like taste it's really elevates the pizza. Oh also get the rosemary fries, crispy crust and nice herby fries with aioli! Will need to come back for the great service and try Neapolitan style pizza.

Smallish place and I can only imagine as word continues to spread this place is gonna start to get regularly crowded. We need more of these style and quality places in CP/Leander. I hope everyone is able to support them, skip the papa john's and dominos.

Conveniently located right off of 183, the moment you walk in you smell the baked goodness. The item that really caught my eye and actually brought me in was the Gooey Butter Bar. I used to eat these all of the time in college. I love that they have a variety of flavors as I thought there was just an original kind. According to the employee on duty, the bar is their most popular baked good. They also offer samples of it. The bar wasn't too bad but was a bit cakier than I remember. However, it has been years since I've had one. They also have other baked items like cookies, cakes, and cinnamon rolls. I also like that they offer a cake sampler that includes 3 slices of different flavored cakes if you can't decide. Also, very reasonably priced.
