I went for a mani and gel-x, specify that I wanted the mani to be done first and my cuticles to be pushed and cut cause they were really long, went at 11 am and they gave me an appointment for 6 pm. The one that did my nails was nice, but when I requested her to push my cuticles even after the many, she insisted she was gonna file them later. You can see I pushed my cuticle softly with my nail and there's a big difference, she left a big space between the nail and my cuticle, so my growth shows faster and I'm forced to come earlier. Also, on the thumb, there's a big gap, more than half the nail, I'm forced to take that one off at home because if I don't, I will get water damage on my natural nails. I went to lavish on a Monday night - a slow night. I went there again to try them again, unfortunately this place is still okay. I got a mani gel. It was okay. I feel like my nails were not filed enough where my nails are not even and after finishing my nails she didn't double check if there was any cuticles that needed to be cut which there was. And on top of that she had to remove polish off my nails and you used a piece of hard paper towel. I would assume with this lavish nail salon, the tech would have their own brush or cotton ball to use to remove polish and not paper towel. If you are at the mall and needed a mani pedi badly I would come here but if not I would go somewhere esle. read more

Especially for the prices they charge, which are higher than their competitor next door. The staff are ever-changing and never usually focus on quality. I was super uncomfortable about the hygiene practices here as well, after doing my pedicure she never changed her gloves and proceeded to massage my arms after the manicure... I basically paid $30 more just to have her cut my nail, slather lotion on my arms for less than 30 seconds of massage. The job was very sloppy. Lots of residual gel nail polish on my fingers, most of them still feeling rough and patchy. I didn't even put any nail polish on. I only end up here when I'm desperate and Pearl Kai is full. There are a lot of chairs and the massage chairs are good. A lot of potential but the nail techs are really awful at doing pedis. The polish application here always has streaks or the edges are jagged or there's an uneven layer on top. More recently and worst of all - no massage. What they call a massage is when the tech rubs a lotion on your legs and feet ever so softly. No pressure at all, just caressing your legs. It's no secret that most customers come for the massage chair and the foot massage. I'm not surprised that they are at 3 stars and dropping. During the service I've noticed she had touched my toes to check if it was dry after putting it under the UV light (it wasn't). After she realized it wasn't dry she went over it with another clear coat and UV light. I am a loyal customer to L'Mour who does not regularly post reviews of their excellent service because I come here every 2-3 weeks and that'll be way too many reviews for me to complete. I am very selective when it comes to my nails and toes because I've had acrylic nails, manis, and pedis since 1998. I know what to expect from nail salons in terms of services offered, quality, cleanliness, and customer service from staff. When I find a great technician and salon, I stay with that person/place. My 10 year technician, Tommy, no longer does nails because he manages other aspects of the business outside of the salon. The technicians that I currently request are: Manicure with gel polish - Rachel and Yumi Pedicure - Rachel and Michelle My girlfriend who is also a client of Lavish only requests May. She also told me that Lavish uses LED lamps for the gel polish. LED nail lamps emit a lower level of UV rays and are considered safer for your skin than UV lamps. My girlfriend (who doesn't regularly get her nails done) wanted to get a mani and pedi for her birthday, so we booked the Queen room. It's a room separate from the main pedicure chairs and has privacy for your special event. There are 8 chairs for your special occasion. If you are looking for a girls' relaxation day, I highly recommend booking the Queen room!! Three of the five of us have never been to L'Mour and they were blown away with the decor in the room, service provided, and friendliness of the nail technicians: Ann, May, Emma, Michelle, and Rachel. Saturday errands with an hour to kill. No wait time at 3pm. Clean bathroom, great service all around. Just a small language barrier but it worked out regular mani pedi with removal of old nail and polish, add callus removal. All took 1 hour. Would've been quicker but had to keep soaking and removing old acrylic gel. I like how the remove, other places just slide a nail in and rip it off. I recently visited Lavish Nail Spa and Salon for a quick gel polish change and an eyebrow wax before a trip. While I have to say that the staff was incredibly warm, accommodating, and overall lovely, I was absolutely shocked by the prices. I ended up paying over $60 for a gel polish change and an eyebrow wax. Just to break it down: $37 for a simple gel polish change (no design, no extras), $7 just to remove the old gel, and the price of the eyebrow wax was reasonable, but still, no tint or anything special with my brows. I understand that you get what you pay for, and I can appreciate quality service, but this just felt excessive. My usual nail technician was booked, and I was in a bit of a rush to get my nails fixed before my trip, so I didn't have much of a choice. Still, I left feeling like I paid way too much for very basic services. If you're planning on coming here, be prepared for some serious sticker shock!
