Blotchy... Uneven... Orange... White streaks on back side. WORST spray tan I have ever had. Took me 2 months of emailing the owner to get a refund. I had been going to Sun Studio Marina del Rey for over 5 years. My regular girl Ashley was on maternity leave so I called Lavish Tan to book an appt before my birthday vacation trip to Key West. When I first got there and went into the room I was shocked that there was no privacy and the owner just stands there watching you get undressed. It was a little creepy. I have been getting airbrushed for over 5 years, I know the routine on how to prep your skin. The following morning when I woke up to catch my flight I was mortified! I was BRIGHT ORANGE and my feet and ankles looked like they were soaked in a bucket of orange paint. My face was SO dark orange as well and nothing looked even. Everyone was looking at me even at the airport while going to get on our plane. It was beyond awful. I thought as soon as we get to our destination I will shower again and it will fade and lighten up... nope, that did not happen. It would not come off. I took about 4 showers that day and trying to make it fade, it was not. I emailed the owner right away and asked her how I can get it off and I sent her pictures... she never replied... After 3 more emails, and about 5-7 days later, it was still so bad. It was all spotted and I looked like a spotted leopard. I sent her more pictures and asked her what to do now.. she actually replied and her words exactly were "that looks awful!" ... she said she wanted to offer me another tan there... um, really? ya, no thanks. Here I was on a 3 week vacation looking crazy. It literally took almost 2 weeks to fade off. I asked for a refund, as I did not want to try her product again. It took about 4 emails of me reminding her and 2 months and me eventually sending her a personal text to her cell before she refunded my money. That $69 or whatever it was, was not worth the 2 weeks of being on our vacation looking the way I did. read more

First of all I must confess that I am a former mystic tanning addict I was not entirely happy with the mystic result but I lived with it because I didn't really think that there was another way to look tan without being in the sun. My issues were all the usual stuff;( I smelled funny, my sheets were brown, it faded splotchy, and I had to get sprayed at least 2-3 times a week to be consistently tan). I took the plunge and went to an airbrush tanning party, we all looked great that night but the next day we looked like we were in some bizarre chemical accident or as if we had been splashed with battery acid(orange feet, patches of white skin) I did my research via yelp and read all of the great reviews on Lavish and it almost seemed too good to be true....no smell? lasts 2 weeks? looks really natural and even? I made an appointment only a few hours in advance and followed all of the instructions; showered, exfoliated and took my dry white skin over to their studio with high hopes. I didn't expect "perfection" after all, its not a real tan, but perfection is what I got! I cannot tell you how pleased I am, it has now been 11 days and I am still tan! It looks totally natural and I have been able to wear skirts, dresses and shorts without having to do patch work on my janky mystic tan. It has been a whole new world for me, I want to shout it from the rooftops! I must advise that I have been very careful with my tan so that it would last. Lots of moisturizer (ask them what kind because it matters) and I had to give up my long hot baths and showers. Short, quick, cool showers gives you a few extra days. read more

I had my first airbrush tan today and have nothing but wonderful things to say about Lavish Tan and the owner/airbrush artist! Easy to get to, in a cute area and parking was not a problem. Kelsey is absolutely amazing and does an incredible job. She is very professional, makes you feel so comfortable and is super nice/sweet! She takes her time to make sure the color/tan is just perfect. While I can't comment on the duration or color after showering, I am sure it's going to look great since it looks so amazing now. What a great experience for spray tanning! The ladies there were super nice and welcoming, and made me feel very comfortable. And most importantly, my tan looked AMAZING! It lasted well over a week, so I am really impressed. The prices are a bit higher than what I found around LA, but if you go on Monday/Tuesday during the day they have Happy Hour pricing. The parking kinda stinks in this area though, so account for extra time to find a meter or street parking somewhere. That's what you get for being on Abbot Kinney I guess! I went here for the first time a few weeks ago before heading to Florida and thank goodness I did! I didn't want to go there super pasty so I got on yelp and you all steered me right. Had a great experience here, in and out fairly quickly and most important: the best spray tan I've ever had! I've always been afraid of spray tans because I had a terrible orange experience and I'm stoked I found a place that does it right. This place is the bomb! So glad my friend told me about it. I've been twice now and the result has been nothing less than amazing! The tan looks REAL and smells oh so good! Like brown sugar! Lasted about 6-7 days and fades off nicely and evenly. Have been sprayed by both Caylee and Kelsey and they are both wonderful and make you feel so comfortable, which is somewhat important when you're standing there naked :) The pricing is reasonable and I will never go anywhere else again. I had my first spray tan at Lavish tan prior to a weekend in Vegas. I LOVED the look and am pretty sure I'm addicted now! I arrived about 15 minutes early for my appointment.. they were very accommodating & squeezed me in right away. My tan is still strong after 7 days so far. The only bummer was my ankles & feet picked up the orange a bit more than the rest of me. I'm assuming this is just a tanning "thing" and will exfoliate/ moisturize these areas more before my next appointment. I'll back back! read more

I love my tan!!! It wasn't awkward getting sprayed by a stranger, they also made me feel completely comfortable and it was pretty quick but done with detailed attention. While driving home I accidentally rubbed off some of the top makeup layer and had a panic attack but they told me it would completely even out after the shower. After waiting the 7 hours and washing it off the tan looked so natural that if I hadn't told anyone they'd think it was real. I am a big fan of Lavish Tan! I got sprayed last Thursday for a Vegas trip and I thought the girl who sprayed me did an excellent job. My tan didn't smell weird (it actually smelled good), it dried fast (I didn't feel sticky or gross as I did chores at home hours after), and it didn't turn me orange. Also, she did a good job to ensure places like my hands, feet, ankles, and elbows didn't get overly tan as to not match the rest of my body. The tan looked natural and a week later it still looks good and is fading very evenly (unlike other places where you start to get speckled as it fades). As long as I live in LA, this will be my tanning place. Amazing! read more

I have been meaning to write this review since forever! For sure the best spray tan I've ever had. I'm blond, but I wanted a fake tan to go with a black wig I was wearing, and it was totally perfect! The spray took to my skin really well, and didn't get all over my clothes. (Although I know to wear black now). It's really such a fun treat for pale people like me. Lavish Tan is amazing! They provide phenomenal, fast & friendly service in a clean, calming space. I'm in my 20's but I've already undergone several surgeries for Melanoma skin cancer. For obvious reasons I have avoided the sun at all costs over the past 8 years. I was really concerned that a spray tan would look strange on my now perma-light skin. I was so so wrong- it looked WONDERFUL! I finally felt sun kissed again after so many years of being pale. Recently, I made the mistake of getting a spray tan done while I was at my waxer's place and it was the worst experience ever. I know it was karma b/c I totally cheated on Lavish :( Thankfully, Kelsey had an opening the next day to fix the awful spray tan that I got at the other place. Highly recommend going to Lavish Tan especially if you've never had a spray tan done before. my first time spray tanning- and lavish tan was a great experience. they took me as a last minute appointment and made me feel super comfortable- unfortunately, since i am so super sensitive, i did have a reaction to the formula (totally NOT their fault) But lavish tan did everything to help me feel better- gave me products, a do-over whenever i want it, and the sort. I am going to re-try it since i haven't had an allergic reaction in a while- and have tried other airbrush tanning places which were AWEFUL!!! something about the quality of lavish tan, and they way they know how to work that little mechanism, the tan looks super natural. i would rate them 5 stars but they are kinda expensive- and their location is not really convienient since parking is a B**** read more
