I had to wait outside until my husband arrived. I later find out it was due to a senator and his entourage of security coming in to eat. I did sit down and looked at the menu. Asked the waiter if the chicken was fried fresh. He said no. I asked if there was another item on the menu that was fresh. He said no. I asked again if there was anything on the menu that was freshly made in the kitchen. He informed me that everything was prepared elsewhere, frozen, and brought in. I decided to leave the restaurant. I would not eat in a restaurant that everything was prepared and thawed out to eat. And the menu prices were extremely high for already prepared food. Such a cute town and nice idea for a restaurant. However, why would you not make your own food?

We walk in and order off the menu that is written in chalk above the register. There are no prices on anything. I find that very odd. I asked her how much the sandwiches were and she said between $15 and $16 each. I opted for the turkey Swiss with a side of chips. I did remove the sprouts from the sandwich and asked for ciabatta instead of multigrain. I was given an option for a side of chips, coleslaw, or carrots. They had a few bakery items. I looked at the scones which look like ciabatta bread. They were very small and cut like a triangle. The brownies that were in the refrigerated case were rock hard. So I ordered neither. The sandwich was fine. Way too much lettuce. Not enough turkey. Bread was more of a roll than a ciabatta. Soft and dry. Love the atmosphere. Bored with food. Annoyed by lack of personality and kindness from the tattooed girl at counter. Only mentioned tattoos as other two ladies in restaurant did not show any. I give this place 3 stars.

Someone from a company we work with in the area had been in town for months and become a regular here, so my 2nd visit was even better. Grab a Cold Smoke Scotch Ale on tap for an excellent Montana-local beer on tap. Other good beers on tap are available if you want to stray from there. On my 1st visit, someone recommended the tenderloin steak tips, so I decided to save the famous pizza for the 2nd visit. Good call - the steak tips were solid. Wish I could remember what else I ordered. On 2nd visit (with regular leading the way), we went with the cheeseburger pizza, which sounded kinda weird, yet... gotta try something new, soooo... we did! And it was awesome. So good - never had anything like it before. Got cheese curds on the side, which were also stellar. Dined in both times, enhancing the piping hot and fresh experience vs taking something back to the room. Not sure if dining with a regular got me a 5-star experience or if it's always that awesome, but I've thought about this bar several times since I went... so that merits a solid review.
