Someone from a company we work with in the area had been in town for months and become a regular here, so my 2nd visit was even better. Grab a Cold Smoke Scotch Ale on tap for an excellent Montana-local beer on tap. Other good beers on tap are available if you want to stray from there. On my 1st visit, someone recommended the tenderloin steak tips, so I decided to save the famous pizza for the 2nd visit. Good call - the steak tips were solid. Wish I could remember what else I ordered. On 2nd visit (with regular leading the way), we went with the cheeseburger pizza, which sounded kinda weird, yet... gotta try something new, soooo... we did! And it was awesome. So good - never had anything like it before. Got cheese curds on the side, which were also stellar. Dined in both times, enhancing the piping hot and fresh experience vs taking something back to the room. Not sure if dining with a regular got me a 5-star experience or if it's always that awesome, but I've thought about this bar several times since I went... so that merits a solid review. I'll definitely be back when I'm back in town.

My kids claim it was the best French fries ever and the kids chicken tender was a very healthy portion. Plus the waitress kept our sodas full to the top the whole time. Being from Minnesota, I decided to brave the potato salad. Not knowing what assorted vegetables Montana puts in their salad, I knew it was a risk. And boy, was it worth it! The salad did not disturb my delicate Minnesotan taste buds. It was delectable. Ambiance was quiet and relaxing. Plus, we loved seeing "real" cowboys.

It has a good, small-town feel. Customers were respectful, but engaging as well, and it's always nice to be able to talk to strangers. Tap beer is cheap and they happened to have a good Oktoberfest on tap that night. The night we went, they had a freewill offering of food for a donation. They didn't have enough staff that day, because of an unexpected departure or illness, and yet the owner still made the extra effort to make us food after they found out that we were vegetarian, and that there wasn't anything available (the buffet or their pizzas). They happened to make us some Monte Cristo sandwiches without the ham and they were very cheesy and delicious. (They didn't have to do that, especially being understaffed! Also "cheesy" as in "lots of yummy cheeses that would make any Cheesehead or dairy fan delighted forever".) I could've spent a lot more time here, but we had to go onward and upward, as they say.
