This is our second year utilizing Lawn Doctor of Southern NJ. Our lawn was devastated by a combination of neglect by our Prior lawn service and geese. Lawn Doctor reseeded, applied fertilizer and weed control. Also mitigated for Lantern Fly and Grubs. This year we tried core aeration with positive results. Lawn is revived and green. Looks terrific. If I could give zero stars, I would. Before hiring Lawn Doctor of Southern New Jersey, I specifically asked them to come out and assess my lawn because I wanted to be sure the treatment plan they quoted would address the extensive weeds I had. They came to my property, evaluated the lawn, and assured me the plan I purchased would eliminate all of my weeds. After three applications, not only did the weeds fail to die, but they actually got worse. In my past experience with lawn treatments, you typically start seeing weeds die within a week or two after an application. That never happened. Instead, the weed growth increased. After the third application, there was still no improvement, so I canceled the service. Because Lawn Doctor advertises a satisfaction guarantee, I contacted them requesting either a refund or that the ineffective treatments be reapplied. I even provided photos showing there had been no progress. Harold, their representative, refused both requests. He told me I would not receive a refund and that they would not provide any "free" applications--even though the treatments I paid for failed to produce any results and despite the guarantee they advertise. If a company is unwilling to stand behind its own guarantee when its service doesn't work, then that guarantee is meaningless. My experience with Lawn Doctor of Southern New Jersey was disappointing from start to finish. I wasted both time and money, and my lawn was left in worse condition than when I started. I am very dissatisfied with this company franchise. My previous experience with a different LD franchise was great. This franchise uses cheap material and does shoddy work. (And the people they send to do the work are creepy) My lawn looks worse than before I hired them. Had a power seeding last fall and it looks awful this spring. They came to do a touch up and pretty much tore up my lawn. Go with a local company, they work harder and better. This LD franchise is definitely NOT WORTH THE MONEY read more

They refuse to honor requests to stop sending me junk mail. I've been asking them to stop for over a year. I even filed a BBB complaint 5 weeks ago for it to stop and there has not been a peep from them. My home doesn't even have a lawn because I intentionally got rid of it. read more

I have been using LDr for several years. My neighbors and I all use their service. We don't have any weeds and the grass looks good all year. This year I used them to reseed my lawn and I am amazed at the results. A beautiful thick green lawn. Never any issues of any kind. read more

I have been a loyal customer for years. I did quit twice due to poor service but it was a service rep issue, not a company issue. I just want to let people know that if the weather is right and you get no issues, lawn doctor is adequate. If you have a disease or something wrong that is a bit unusual, forget about it. If you call their response time is horrendous. Frankly they do not care. They are over extended and only go where the money is (large properties), irrespective the tenure of being their customer or paying on time etc. This is a company I would avoid based on experience. I called about my lawn and was asked to send them photos. I would have preferred a visit to diagnose the problem and at least to make me feel like I was somewhat valued. Most service companies are terrible due to overextending and not wanting to pay a fair wage. This company has zero customer service with respect to customer inquiries. read more

I would certainly avoid this company. They reseeded my lawn 2 years ago and that went fine, so I called this year when I thought I had army worms. I don't think insecticides is what they do, but they didn't tell me that. A week or two after spraying my previously beautiful lawn was severely damaged with dead and dying areas throughout. The invoice states that they applied roundup, though they insisted that they applied an insecticide. I called the franchise owner and he looked at it, took pictures and said he would reseed the most damaged areas, but then never heard from him again- so also non-existent customer service! read more

I can not give them one star!!!! Harold the manager was a habitual liar !!!!!! Indicated one thing on paper and then told me something completely different. Mike the manager doesn't work at the location in Mullica Hill anymore however he was trying to help me out without trying to charge me anymore money. Megan was trying to work with me because I explained to her that whatever they were doing was not working and I made them aware of it. Megan began to lie to me also telling me they would fix the issue and then she says at another time that I had to pay for another service contract and she never said anything about getting another service contract she simply stated she would have the issue fixed for free !!!!!!! I was guaranteed that the service would work and it didn't, I asked about getting my money back I was told to give them another try with additional services I told them I didn't want to do that I wanted my money back and I was told because I didn't do as they suggested regarding additional services it was not their fault that it did not work. DO NOT USE THIS SCAM COMPANY!! They priced seeding my lawn for almost triple the price of competitor companies, and I emailed them stating I did not want their service at this time in which they received and replied back saying "ok". Two weeks later they came anyway while I was not home, and did the work and left me a $1000 bill for work I already paid someone else to do for $350!! Buyer Beware!!!! Lawn Doctor August 24, 2021 an employee Chris treated my lawn. On August 25 I called lawn Doctor to let them know that my pool had four stains in it after Chris treated my lawn and ask them if they were going to send out a pool repair man to try and remove the stains in my pool. I was told that they would have to send out a Manger to look at the stains. On September 01, 2021 they sent out Carl. on September 8, 2021 I called Lawn Doctor and ask them what they are planning on doing to have the stains removed from my pool that they had caused. Lawn Doctor told me that Carl reported that there are rust stains in the pool and that it was not from them. Lawn Doctor knows all to well what fertilizer and weed killer will do to a pool because of the metals it has in it google it. Lawn Doctor does not want to take responsible for the damage they did to my pool. read more

Had them for 2 years. I always did my lawn myself. Not that my lawn was the best, but at least it was green. Got them 2 years ago because I had a tree cut down late in the spring, and I knew I would be seeding the dirt area very late. Thought Lawn doctor could help. Year 1 pretty bad, but OK give them a break, they got a late start we well. Year 2, grass was totally brown. In fact, they only did my front and sides, I did my own backyard and the back was green. The expert came out and told me I didn't have enough water. Funny thing, I have a sprinkler system, I watered twice a day, (which exploded the already high water bill). And the front and sides had nothing but sparse dead grass by early to mid June. The good news is that the back yard was green and plush pretty much halfway in to August. But they kept sending me things that said your bushes need this and that, for an extra 60 bucks, and you can stop the moles for an extra 200 bucks, blah blah. Hydroseed seems like a waste, good old aeration is the best. (which also costs extra with them) Dropped them - going back to my own taking care of the lawn, until I find something better. They are cheap (till you start taking on the add ons), but you get what you pay for. read more

I do not recommend this Lawn DR, of Mullica Hill. The service is horrible and they do not return phone calls or e-mails. The customer service from the office staff is horrible, unresponsive and are short with you on the phone. I have called asked to talk to a manager or owner, they always told me they were not there, and never returned phone calls. I have used them for several years, the first few years were great, now weeds are coming back, the price always goes up. The techs rush in and out of your property when applying applications. They charge you a "Soil and PH test", have been trying to get the results for the test since August, got nothing. Its a scam to charge for for an application when they do no apply anything at that visit. Would give them zero stars if possible. read more

The lawn doctor that comes to our neighbor's New Jersey house is inconsiderate of neighbors' property. Their staff comes even in windy weather, causing the chemical sprays to drift over to our yard and through our windows. I have to close all the windows when I see them out there. I have an elderly mother, as well as two indoor cats that do not need to be breathing in pesticides & herbicides. I also have plants I don't want killed due to chemical drift. I called them about this last year. They're doing it again this year. When I spoke with the guy who was doing the spraying just now, he said that he can't control the wind. Well, he can wait until a non-windy day to spray. But then, that would affect the company's bottom line. Apparently, that's all Lawn Doctor cares about. read more

A one-star rating is too high for Lawn Doctor of Mullica Hill. I have never experienced such poor customer service in my life. The tech hit our brand new fence with the aeration machine, in Sept 2020, and it has yet to be fixed (Feb 2021). I have emailed and called, over and over again. I am always told that they passed the email, or message, onto Mike, the manager. Mike has to be the absolute worst manager ever, as you will see from other reviews on here. He completely ignores the situation. I warn you to STAY AWAY from this company. Their pricing is decent, but they couldn't care less if they lose you as a customer. If you pay your bill, and have no problems, they love you. As soon as you have a problem, they ignore you. I cancelled their service and switched to TruGreen - I'd recommend to look elsewhere before spending your hard-earned money on a company that treats you like complete trash. read more

Read first before you sign up! For years, I had a lawn that only was green in the beginning of the season. And I would mow every other week. One day, my old lawn service forgot to renew my contract. So then I called lawn Dr.. Why did I do that? I never thought that my grass would ever be so green and plush again. But beauty comes with a cost.
