Even though I called in ahead by 1.5 hrs, it took a while to seat me. The mani pedi was fine, but there were some bubbles and streaks on the side where polish wasn't applied fully. But they served their purpose to look good for my event. They had a bird in the salon. Lol read more

I called at 5:05 to see if they took walkins and they said yes (i did not realize they closed at 6:00 p.m.) and two of thier staff worked on me at the same time, one did toes and one did my fingernails. This was seriously the nicest thing ever. I wish I could give them 6 out of 5 stars. My nails look fantastic too! Definitely try this place if you're an out of towner. read more

Do Not Recommend Ive come here multiple times, but this was the worst. I live very close to Lawndale, so i just came to get my acrylics off. Ive gotton acrilics off multiple times at other places and it has taken he 10-20 minutes but it took them 1 hour. They did not soak my nails or file them down, they tried to rip them off. they kept cutting them down more and more, and the more they tried to rip them off, the more it hurt. I have marks on my finger nails and a bruise on my pointer finger. they are vmore weak then when i have gotten them off in the past. When i got my french tips done weeks ago they said that this would be easy and they were chunky and they did not have good lines. I do not recommend. read more

My mom and I were eating at Miss Shirely's and wanted to get our nails done in the area but we were unfamiliar with good options. We searched and searched and ended up here. We couldn't have been more pleased! The ladies were so friendly--they actually talked to us unlike sometimes when I get my nails done where they are silent. They also took their time, making sure everything looked perfect. We will definitely be back! Thank you! UPDATE- my mom and I did SNS manicure. My mom gets this done all the time and it always lasts about 4 weeks, which is consistent with what the nail stylist told us. Both of our nails broke after 2 weeks. My mom went back and they did redo her nails for free after pushing back a little bit. I would now not return based on the length of time the SNS stayed on. read more

Went in for a gel manicure and single acrylic (as I had broken a nail) and now I'm sitting in my car crying. They cut my nails ridiculously short and I explicitly said I did not want them short and only wanted them filed. They are uneven and my cuticles are not groomed. The acrylic nail is terrible, far too thick and points at an upward angle. I am still peeling off the excess glue from my fingers. I am very upset. As a college student it is a treat for me spend $50 on a manicure and that money has gone to waste. read more

I feel bad giving them three stars, as this nail salon seems like it's better than most. Comfy chairs, good color selection (though not really for gels) and friendly, calming atmosphere. However, I knocked off points for a few things. 1) I walked in and asked if I could have a pedicure and gel manicure done in an hour and a half. They said, "yes," that I would be done and good to go. However, it took about 15 minutes until my pedicure began and the pedicure took a good hour. Since I had gel nails on the begin with, I had to ask them to rush to take off the gel so that I could leave on time 2) They then charged me for the gel removal! 3) When scrubbing the dead skin cells off of the bottom of my foot, enough skin was scrubbed to cause my foot to bleed. The technician didn't even point it out to me, so I didn't notice until I started walking around and felt some irritation on the bottom of my foot. I'd go back if they had better time management skills. The pedicure was good, but I can't have my time wasted, especially when on a time crunch. read more

I moved to the area a few months ago, and live within walking distance. It's super convenient and last week's pedicure is looking good, but there are some quality & service issues. First time I went for a wax. Frankly it was the longest, most painstaking waxing experience I can remember. It took nearly an hour whereas my old place in VA always wrapped things up in less than 10 minutes. I will say that the results were good however, so I'm sure an eyebrow wax wouldn't be so bad. A few weeks later, I came in for a gel manicure. Opposite situation of quality of experience vs. result -- it was a really nice manicure, but it started chipping in less than a week. And finally, I went in for a pedicure. The pedicure itself was fine, nothing special about it. However being asked to leave when my toes were still wet -- 40 minutes before their 7pm closing time -- was very odd and uncomfortable. I was the only one there and I guess they decided to head home early, which I can certainly understand under certain circumstances. But four ladies literally trying to shoo me out when they finished my pedicure 5 minutes before, then asking that I leave in plastic flip flops (I said no, it's 35 degrees and I'm walking home), and finally insisting that I wear plastic wrap under my socks and leave, was very bizarre. Once I had left, they were still able to leave 30 minutes early. At that point, I was really ready to get out of there because the whole situation was very uncomfortable. So I walked home with plastic on my feet and a knot in my stomach. Bad (and probably last) experience. read more

I am one of the worst nail biters I've ever heard of, so every now and then I go for a set of acrylic tips to let the nails underneath grow in. I have never had a manicurist pay so much attention to the details of filing the tips down so that they look perfect--way too often I've had tips that look unfinished or overly fake. I have been to five or six nail salons so far, and not many had the quality I was looking for. Here, I got the OPI gel manicure and pedicure several times, waxing (facial hair), and toe nail repair. *** MANICURE & PEDICURE *** I've gotten manicure and pedicure (I always do them in pair) from all of the technicians here. I think one thing that makes Lawndale distinguishable is that all have the eye for color and style. All technicians are very good with choosing the right color that matches me and putting the gel evenly with consistent thickness and shine. My nails and toe nails always look so clean and shiny after I receive their care. *** FOR TOE NAIL REPAIR!!! *** I posted some pictures for my toe nail repair and pedicure. I used to have both my toenails severely damaged for almost 10 years now, and Mia fixed it for me so well that it's not even noticeable anymore! Although this might be a temporary work at least for now, my toe nails are likely to grow flat if they have the support that Mia made for me. Mia told me that they should be treated at least three times, so I'll definitely visit again! So far, my toe nails have been growing just fine :) I am very happy and thankful for the expert care that Mia gave me :D *** WAXING *** I got my facial waxing here for the first time, and it was a quick touch that hurt the least among all wax care I've got in my life (because it was so quick!!). Because I have a lot of facial and body hair, getting a waxing is a way better alternative to shaving for me. It is also more sanitary and less cumbersome. For people who have a lot of hair, I strongly recommend Lawndale! Came here on a whim as I needed a quick mani/pedi while my son was in preschool and this place opened earlier than most salons (9am). Staff was extremely polite, amenities were clean and I was very pleased with my pedicure and gel manicure. Only small complaint would be the price ($35 gel manicure, $34 pedicure) but I'd say the price was worth it. I'll definitely return. read more

I dropped in to Lawndale as I got to cleaners next door and was greatly impressed! I have returned several times and find both Jenny and Stella wonderful to work with. Unlike too many salons, these women are polite, professional, very nice and do great work. The other thing that I think worth mentioning is that I noticed that they do not really talk with each other or on headsets to cell phones while working. This is a big deal to me, as I have experienced a lot of salons in which the technicians talk with each other constantly,over my head,or talk into cell phones, or watch tv while doing nails! This nail salon/spa is very cute and quaint. They offer a spa like experience from the moment you walk in. I was serviced by Mia and Jenny as I received a silk wrap manicure and a pedicure. Both of them were courteous and patient. Mia made sure to explain all my options and price differences based on service. Called ahead and was seated right away to pick colors and such. After 5pm seems like a busy time as they have about 5 technicians in the salon and each tech had a customer. Great experience. It was busy when I arrived but I didn't wait long and there were a few men in there, which is good sign that they make the place comfortable for everyone. I had read the good reviews so decided to try it. I gave two stars not that anything was terrible but it was so far from a four or five star experience. It is very small and it was crowded that day. Not a relaxing place at all jammed in like sardines. I also read reviews that it is so clean. It was no cleaner than other places in Towson like Luxury Nails or Future Nails. There was really no foot massage which was also disappointing. Gave it a try but not worth a second trip especially since the prices are higher than competitors. read more

This salon is wonderful, I can't recommend enough. They give great mani/pedi and are also great with kids. I brought my two girls, ages 4 and 6, there yesterday and they treated the girls so well with such warmth, my girls loved it!
