We discussed and agreed to the project schedule and expectations. What transpired was a serious lack of transparency and management. We were taken advantage of including paying for work that was never done and were told it was, hurried work that required rework multiple times, schedule slippage by multiple weeks causing us to incur additional costs and rescheduling subsequent contractors. John discussed making things right, however we were well past the point of allowing for this to continue and paid for a different contractor to finish the remaining rework. Poor quality work, job failed and had to be redone by someone else because Terry doesn't stand by his work. My mother was lied to many times, treated with disrespect multiple times and I could on and on about all the horrible things Terry did while on the job. Just wants his money, doesn't want you to all questions and doesn't care about his clients. Left my mother with thousands of dollars in damage above and beyond the thousands he was paid because his work failed. Find someone better that masters in the trade you're looking for, not a "Jack of all". Find someone that takes pride in their work, cares about the customer satisfaction and is willing to correct their mistakes without placing blame onto client. Honestly can't believe the way she was treated, I'm disgusted. If he did this to her, he could do it to you. I can't say enough, don't hire Terry.

Thankfully, I got a second opinion from Dave's Master Floor Care. Dave carefully inspected the entire floor and explained that refinishing was possible -- and he delivered outstanding results with good value. Dave is thorough and an excellent communicator. He explained the types of wear on my floors and outlined his refinishing strategy step by step. With little room for error on this type of flooring, I appreciated his clear approach -- there's no "undo" button with refinishing! Dave also has tools I've never seen before -- it felt like he had a gadget for every challenge that came up. Plus, he's been doing this for years, so he knows how different stains and woods react. I even learned a bit along the way. And the best part? Dave does the work himself. Sometimes he brings an assistant to help with simple stuff, but you're really hiring him -- not a random crew. He provided a consultation for my indoor floors, but then I had him also look at my garage floor and he said he was able to do the work I was looking for, which is what I will be reviewing here today. I had a few cracks in my garage floor and was looking to Epoxy it to protect it for the winter. Dave explained to me his process and how it differs from the competition which helps keep his cost low. The best part about Dave was that he stuck to the quote he gave me, with no surprises or additional ask for money, and he started when he said he would, got the job done quick, and finished when he said he would - anyone who has worked with contractors before knows this is a rarity! Dave was respectful and treated the place with care, and I would recommend his work to others. We think the garage looks great! Dave is passionate about his work and did tend to over-explain some things to me, so some people might enjoy that more than others but it was great to hear how much he knew about the subject!

It went okay until the installers--who did not do the greatest job upon further inspection--just up and left when they had the carpet we'd purchased from Malmquist Home Furnishings tacked down. We literally had to spend two and a half hours picking up scraps and also vacuuming two small rooms and a hallway after they left. I'm afraid the next time I have to buy carpet--I'll go with the best price for the best carpet and hire my own installer who will be instructed to clean up after themselves. It was ridiculous.
