We moved into a beautiful rental home with ease. Not knowing that the house had a horrible rodent problem. Also, when we first moved in, we couldn't get a hold of anyone and they wouldn't answer the phone, nor return our calls. Our water was brown. Once the company was made aware of the issue of the rodents, they sent a really good pest company to address the issue and it was successful. However, when we got ready to move out, we took two weeks cleaning the house. Even sweeping the garage, clearing any garbage, washed walls all except one room, my grandchildren had some crayon marks on the walls and carpet stains. Other than that, the house was in the same condition that we received it. Lawrence Realty would not return our deposit, not even a fraction of it. They asked to see the place when we hadn't finish moving out and hadn't cleaned it. Assessed the place based off of that. Gave us a long list of issues that were inaccurate. Our only problem with this was that we didn't record a video of how the place looked. Make sure that when you move out of their properties that you record a video so they cant accuse you of creating damage that was inaccurate. There are some things that are normal wear and tear and those things were not considered. Simple things like a knob on a closet that cost 97 cents at home depot. Be careful with these guys. When we toured the place, Meghan stood outside while we looked around. Afterward, we were very pleased and wanted to rent the place. One of the walls were blue at the time that we moved in, they accused of painting the walls which never happened. read more

Originally reached out from a FB Marketplace listing. Did a virtual walkthrough with Tyler as I was not able to make the in person. Everything went great, got the information about putting in the application. I want to note that Tyler mentioned that if another application was processed and approved before ours was processed, we would be able to get our fee back. Did the application and sent in the payment. I let Tyler know that it was in, he acknowledged that. Despite reaching out to him on Facebook Marketplace, calling the management company and emailing, we have not gotten a single update or communication in any form in the three weeks since we have put in our applications! I am of the mindset that we were scammed out of $100 for two application fees. Do better! Edit: A side note I want to mention. The phone number listed on the website and the application I believe is a cellphone that is kept or used by the owner or manager. It is what's used for the Zelle for the application fees. When calling it, it prompts you to say your name and why you're calling, like the iPhones do now. I always gave a pretty good description of who I was and why I was calling, but they never answered. I will admit, I have an out-of-state number, so they may have been confused, but it's unprofessional to not answer that number when it calls five times over the course of a week. Also, if they had even looked at let alone processed our application, they would have seen my phone number. read more

I've debated posting this review for a long time but refrained from doing so out of fear of retaliation. Our experience with Lawrence Realty (LR) has been the worst experience we have ever had with a property management company. Our building was sold in 2021 and LR took over the property management. Shortly after everything was finalized, issues started to pop up. We received a disconnect notice from the water department as LR/the new owner had not signed the new water contract. It took several attempts from everyone in our building to get ahold of anyone at Lawrence Realty to correct the problem. The water department actually came out to turn off the water to building next door to us--which LR manages as well. We have experienced many other issues with LR throughout the last year. It is impossible to get anyone with LR on the phone, ever. They sent contact information and instructions to everyone via mail when they took over management. This info included a tenant contact number (that nobody answers) with instructions to leave a voicemail (even for emergencies) claiming someone would return your call. Less than half of our messages have been returned, and there is typically at least a day delay in receiving any sort of response. On July 5, 2022 LR claimed they sent a lease renewal form via mail dated for some time in May, which was never received. We had been in a month-to-month tenancy agreement for over two years, since before LR took over management of the property. The first we heard about this lease renewal and rent increase (no complaints about rent increase, just the way they tried to carry it out) was on July 5th. On this date, LR contacted us through a random text message from an unknown number, without identifying who they were, stating they had not received our lease renewal form. Our neighbors, who received the same text on the same day, had also not received the notice from LR. When we were finally able to get Meghan on the phone on July 5, we were told that the rent increase was effective July 1, four days BEFORE we received notice that they were terminating our existing month to month tenancy. This is a blatant violation of the Ohio Revised Code as landlords are required to provide 30 days notice prior to terminating month-to-month tenancy. We finally obtained a copy of the lease renewal document on July 5 via Dotloop and returned it as requested within 10 days, via the tenant email address provided to us when they took over management of the building. Before sending the document, I attempted to call both the office and the tenant line to confirm I was sending the document to the correct email but received no response. On August 3, Meghan reached out again, claiming they had not received our lease renewal form. I provided Meghan with screenshots showing my email was sent to the tenant email address. I was told that I should know to contact Meghan via her personal Gmail address which we had no idea even existed. I immediately re-sent the lease renewal documents to her email, as requested, and she finally confirmed receipt and accepted that our rent increase and new 12-month lease would be effective 30 days following the date we received notification. Yesterday, we noticed a fairly urgent maintenance issue. As requested, I called the tenant line at 1:35pm on a weekday, left a detailed voicemail explaining the situation, and requested a call back. About 24 hours later I received a text message, "Plumber calling ASAP." I responded to this message asking who I was speaking with and to get more information. I received no response. A couple hours later, a plumber randomly knocked on my front door and said he was sent over by Meghan for an urgent plumbing issue. I've concluded that Lawrence Realty does not care about their tenants. Every interaction I've had has been entirely unprofessional. Further, it seems that Lawrence Realty completely disregards tenants' rights and landlord obligations in managing their properties. P.S. Judging by the demeaning and inappropriate responses from Lawrence Realty on the various other negative reviews outlining similar experiences (especially on Google), I'm sure a similar response will be posted to our review. At the time of posting this, I think the only positive review on Yelp is from a current or former employee. I think it's pretty clear when there are multiple reviews outlining similar issues where the real problem is. read more

The previous review doesn't even make sense because of legal reasons and this company has the most strict by the book management. One of the owners is on the Stark County Board of realtors for Pete's sake. Anyways, Meghan helped me and my boyfriend find the absolute most wonderful place for us. Even when we were having troubles with the other property manager she fixed the issues right away. I couldn't have asked for a better experience. Thank you Meghan, Scott, Denise, and Lenny. This company is horrible with communication as well as making repairs. They only get things done when you threaten them with money or legal pressure. Megan is the most rude and inconsiderate person I've ever met. Her contractors she hires are disrespectful and dishonest. They raised our rent almost 200dollars after living here for 2 years and being on time with rent a majority of those years. PLEASE STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY AT ALL COSTS. We are looking to move at this moment. They do horrible business and treat tenants like garbage. read more

The property management is a joke to say the least. I will never rent from them again. Meghan is condisending and rude. She will ignore major issues and speak down to you. After I put down the deposit for my apartment they raised the rent and she tried to get me to pay gas for the entire house. It is a split level and only one meter for the house for two separate apartments.... wasn't happening the ad. Pearly stated that renter was to pay electric only. She was over 45 minutes late when I was supposed to sign the lease. I have not had electric in a quarter of my house since November of 2018 and when I moved in there was black mold everywhere and she refused to take care of that until she was threatened by my mother. Shortly after fighting about the mold my upstairs neighbor informed me that she had keys to my apartment.( we were living there for 3 weeks when I found that out) Meghan said to me if I wanted to change the locks it was going to be at my expense and I would have to change them myself. There was a gas leak and we were never notified of that issue and it wasn't fixed until months after we moved in. We were notified of that issue when the gas company came to turn our gas back on.... BECAUSE MEGHAN DIDNT PAY THE GAS BILL AND IT WAS SHUT OFF! Now the garage door opener doesn't work and it opens and closes randomly the dish washer is not working and I'm still sitting here waiting on a repair man as I am typing wondering if she had some random person call me and pretend to be a repair man to shut me up... Looks like another night of sleeping in my living room so we can have heat because it is WINTER IN OHIO!! read more
