Sorry to do this because they may have good stuff there if that's all you want. But I was disappointed when a specific order was placed a week ago and with 2 deliveries to them, my order wasn't fulfilled. But worse was no call saying it wasn't available when I had an option to make my father's 80th birthday meal. Was left hanging. May have good stuff but sadly unreliable. Great people to deal with. They almost always have yellowtail and soft shell crab, my favorite items. They filet the fish and remove the skin at my request. They're also a good source of stone crab in season and may have some frozen after season. read more

Walked in at 2:15 on Sunday, they close at 3:00 Guy behind the counter gave us a dirty look They were working diligently to clean out the counter, so we left! Never said a word to us, so business must be good enough that they don't care we were here to buy a seafood feast for a group. read more

This was the best fresh seafood place in SW Fla. True Old Florida. Not the skanky smelly foul fish you are forced to endure at the local publix, or winn dixie but fresh as in "caught within hours" of when you purchase it. NO OTHER place in SW Fla offers you this. read more

Unbelievably fresh fish - what an AMAZING gem. Yes, snowbirds, fresh seafood shops lightly smell like fish and not like Publix frozen shrimp imported from goodness knows where. SHOCKER! Feel free to head back to what you deem to be The Fabulous North...that leaves more fresh-off-the-boat deliciousness for kind local folks like me. We get to the store at 9am today. Maybe it is not good time to shopthere. They are trying to sell old fish from previous days first. Donna was not honest with us and was trying to sell not fresh fish as fresh. Then another customer came and she was giving him great fresh fish from the cooler. When I ask for those fish, she brought me one from somewhere and it was with abrsolutely dull eyes and slimy gills. When I asked about fish from cooler, she answer that they do not have any more. In place like this you count on honesty. Not with Donna. If you will shop there, check every fish. read more

Not fancy, it's a fish market not a restaurant. Yes it smells of fish , Surprise !! Great prices, good selection and normal service for what it is. Completely satisfied with quality and there expertise and knowledge of filleting and preparing. I look forward to many more trips there . read more

We've bought shrimp, fish and alligator from Laws several times now. Yes, it does smell pretty bad (my trick is to breath through my mouth instead of my nose) but the freshness of the fish and shrimp has been fine. My only complaint is that they appear to have changed the supplier of the gator (which is frozen), and it went from being nice white relatively tender meat, to dark chewy inedible meat (and at $13/lb I was very disappointed). I bought 2 pounds a few days ago for 8 people, and we still have most of it left because nobody could chew it. read more

I went into this store today, hopeful for fresh seafood in a local store . . . what a disappointment! I have to admit, I am not familiar with all the local species, but the only thing I recognized was their shrimp and they weren't local. It smelled like a bait shop - sorry, Tom, who reviewed on 8/17/08, but this WAS skanky smelly foul fish and I have yet to find fish worth buying in Punta Gorda which is surprising, because this is a relatively affluent community who would support a top notch fish monger, should one choose to locate here (PLEASE!!) read more

We purchased blue crabs from Law's Seafood on Monday and we were highly impressed. Coming from Maryland, we have been skeptical about buying crabs here but we were pleasantly surprised. The crabs were large, full and great! We will definitely purchase from Law's Seafood again. read more

This is a retail establishment that provides seafood at great prices. It is not a restaurant and should not be catagorized as such.

I really hate to write a negative on any business especially because it takes a lot to run a small business. However I stopped by and the first thing I was overwhelmed with strong fish odor. I know it is a fish market but the temp was almost warm in this small room and then I saw flies. Next I notice the fish in the case did not have enough ice packed around them. The lady who waited on me got up from a chair she was sitting with 2 other ladies in a small corner. I know rent is expensive but , and I just would not feel comfortable or trust buying seafood here. Maybe if they got rid of the flies and cool down the place to help with the smell. This is for the owner. Just moved to this area was told your business has been around a long time so maybe I just came in on a off day. read more

I have purchsed fresh fish twice. both ti es the fish was very fresh and light. I picked out a fish and they fileted it so I didn't have to do anything but take it home and cook it. I am delighted with this place. read more

The only way to have a fresher fish is to catch it yourself. When you add in your gas, time, and ware & tare on your boat. It's more cost effective to buy your grouper here. They will fillet it for you and if you have crab traps give you the carcas too. read more
