Recently moved to the area, and being a foodie, I use Yelp to find nearby places to scope out. This place came up about a month ago and I kind of forgot to check into it. So today, while looking for somewhere to try, this place popped into mind. The Yelp page doesn't really indicate where the truck will be, however I noticed a reply to a comment on here from 'Mobstah Lobstah' and they were directing people to check social media, call or text, or email them. I don't have any social media platforms, however I checked them out on FaceBook (without creating an account) and saw that they posted their March location schedule. I hopped on the motorcycle and took a ride! They were about 30 minutes from my place, but I am soooo glad I made the trip! (The location changes, so make sure you pay attention to their schedule). Anywho... out of the handful of food trucks at this location, their line was the longest. I probably waited 20-30 minutes and was a little discouraged, but stayed hyped for some deliciousness! The wait passed by quickly, everyone in line was really nice and soon I was at the front of the line. It was soooo hard to choose, but I went with the loaded lobster tots and a coke to drink. I think it was around $32 for both, with tax. The price may throw people off, but you are getting lobster, and just look at the pics, there is plenty of it!! The staff were very pleasant and you have to remember, as their sign says, they don't do 'fast food, they make great food as quickly as possible' (I may have slightly miss quoted, but you get it). The trucks were at a type of community grounds, with picnic tables all about, so I grabbed a seat and unveiled this beautiful piece of lobster art! Not sure what I was expecting, and even after seeing other pics, nothing prepares you for the giant pieces of lobster, blanketed over perfectly fried tots! Everything was cooked to perfection and the chipotle aioli was amazing! There was no digging around trying to find some lobster, it was in your face!! All in all, it was a great experience and I will definitely make a trip to try some of their other choices! Check out their schedule and stop on by, you will not be disappointed!! Wait in the line. It's worth it. I've had the lobstah Mac and the CT lobster rolls and tots. All good. It takes a little long once you order but the food is so worth the wait. Each time, I've waited a total of 45 min to an hour between waiting to order and then receiving my food. So prepare for that when you plan to go to this truck. I live in Bridgetown in Fort Myers. This truck came on a Friday evening, and we all got an email a week ahead that it was coming. The email said "Advanced orders are recommended " and "If you wish to place an order in advance, call...". Ok, so, I did not call to place an order in advance. I didn't take this to mean that if I came to the truck the MINUTE it got to Bridgetown that they'd be sold out completely!! Well that's exactly what happened. I came at 4pm, which was the time it opened there, and there was already a sign on it that said "Sorry, all sold out on pre-orders". Ok, a little advice, if you're only going to make enough food to cover the pre-orders, then put on your ad for Bridgetown "PRE-ORDERS ONLY!!!". Because now it looks like you simply can't handle long lines of people waiting to order and waiting for their food while you cook it. Sorry, but a good food truck doesn't thrive on pre-orders...it thrives on being a hot spot for tons of people in a busy area (or even a Fort Myers neighborhood) to come to it, order it, and stand (or sit) around and enjoy it. Lobster is by FAR my favorite food and when I saw that a lobster roll food truck was coming to my neighborhood I was ECSTATIC. Couldn't wait. Even invited my much older father who has problems getting out of the house, to join me. Only to find out there was no food left when they OPENED due to pre-orders. I was pretty upset about that. I was very excited for some lobster in my neighborhood. Needless to say, if this food truck ever comes back to Bridgetown or anywhere else nearby where I'll be, I won't be giving it my business. I tried this food truck when they were at Wynwood Brewery for its 2nd anniversary. Many reviewers, and people who were eating as I waited in line, proclaimed this to be the best lobster roll they've eaten. I haven't eaten many, in all honestly, I don't really think there are many offerings here in Miami. I probably had tried a couple down in the keys but I can't recall eating any here in Miami... The Connecticut roll comes in a buttery, grilled and pillowy soft roll with about 6 claws stuffed in it. Lobster is very easy to cook, but also very easy to overcook. We tried this food truck last night while at the Wynwood art walk. To be honest, I had low expectations because of the whole "Sopranos" theme with the signage, but don't let that turn you off; this food is legit! We ordered the lobster roll combo, "Connecticut Style", which came warm with lemon and butter. The combo came with tater tots and coleslaw. The guy taking the orders couldn't have been friendlier or funnier! He really added to the experience with his warm and open manner! The food came really quickly and the sandwich was cut in two so Larry S. and I could share. The sandwich was a toasted roll absolutely stuffed full with lobster, no filler or mayo! The tots were crispy and delicious and the slaw provided a nice, cool foil to the rest of the meal. Absolutely delicious, although a bit pricey at $17. Brooklyn where you at? Finally was able to encounter the famous Mobstah Lobstah Food truck, who I've been following on Instagram for a very long time. I saw that a couple of weeks ago, that they were coming to Wynwood, boy was I excited. I managed to invite my daughter and she decided that she wanted to come with me. Wynwood has this Wynwood Art Walk every second Saturday of the month, different food trucks and vendors locate themselves on NW 2nd Avenue and 24th Street. This was my first time coming here and the ambiance was very intriguing. Let's talk about parking, it's very congested in that area, parking can also be kind of difficult to find and can run you from $10 for 2 hours to up to $30 for 5 hours. Luckily, I have a friend who lives down the street from Wynwood Diner and I managed to park in front of his house for the "FREE". We walked a couple of blocks and finally reached our destination. Loud music, vendors and food trucks. I found the the big red truck and luckily for me, no line no waiting, I was approached by and I'm guessing Mr. Mobstah Lobstah. The guy had a very strong New York/Italian accent which I was loving reminding me a little of Tony Soprano. I asked him of course are from New York? and he replied but of course I'm from Brooklyn and I'm Italian. He had his "La Familia" shirt and was very sociable and funny. I asked him what do you recommend and what's your best seller? He told me if I want to have a full flavor taste to go for the "Connecticut style" lobster roll. I took his advice and ordered it as a combo which came with a side of tater tots and coleslaw. My wait time was less than five minutes. I couldn't believe my eyes, the presentation of my platter, had me literally salivating, plus I was very hungry. My lobster roll came in a warm buttered toasted roll, lobster meat no mayo, but it did come with butter and a piece of lemon wedge, tater tots were crunchy and a topped with orange sauce, and creamy coleslaw. I took a bite and I couldn't believe how tasty the roll was, very meaty, and moist squeezing a little lemon added a little tart flavor. The tater tots were very crunchy and tasty and coleslaw was pretty good. The cost of the combo was $18 and with a ice cold Coca-cola my total was $20. I could not complain about the price and I found it reasonable, lobster can be a little expensive but at the end of the day I was very satisfied with meal. Ordered a Conneticut Lobster Roll for $14. It came out fast, warm and on a lovely buttered slice of thick bread stuffed with lobster and garnished with a few scallions and a lemon slice.
