Saw this place while heading back to my vacation rental, so I decided to stop. The area seems to be lacking in seafood choices, so I was hoping to fix this problem. As I entered, I noticed that the fish options on display were lacking. The lady in front of me bought the last shrimp that they had. Some of the fish didn't look fresh. I asked if they had crabs or crab legs, and was told that they no longer sell them. The lady behind the counter was super nice, but there really wasn't anything that I would consider buying. My visit was disappointing.

Everything top notch- food, service and ambience. The fish is so fresh. Have tried tuna, grouper and mahi. Delicious especially prepared with one of the homemade herbal butters or paired with the remoulade sauce. All the ladies that run the store are so helpful and the store layout enticing!

Fish market in historical Placida, FL. They sell seafood by the pound. They are fresh or frozen. There are no prepared food here. They also sell seafood salads, homemade crab cakes, and key lime pie. They also have packaged seasonings and sauces as well!

(First of all, the word Bistro refers to French style cooking not Italian.) The reviews we read indicated that Isabella's would be worth trying. It isn't. If you are from the mid-West and think Pizza Hut serves excellent pizza, this restaurant is for you because you have never experienced genuine Italian cuisine. It takes a long time to get your food. It should not take 40 minutes to get your salad. It was warm and wilted. Isabella's must have a tiny kitchen or a very sparse kitchen staff. My pasta dish was smothered in mozzarella. As was my wife's Sampler dish of rollatini, manicotti, and lasagna. Manicotti should be light and savory covered only in a delicious sauce, not buried under a heavy layer of mozzarella. By the way, the sauce is too salty. The Chicken Francese dish was too soggy to enjoy. You can pick up the bread at any supermarket. I thought the dipping oil was excellent, nothing else. The preparation of the food is at best only mediocre. The ladies on the staff were very nice and they work very hard. Isabella's could be better. The chef needs to spend a month travelling around Italy, especially Sicily, to update Isabella's recipes. The restaurant is always packed, so there must be many non-Italians who think this is good Italian food.

Initially we were excited to find my husband's favorite wine, KJ Merlot, at this place, but it took a long time to get it to the table as our server had higher priorities. Hubby ordered fried fish and when it was served by a food runner, the outside breading was ridiculously dark. Hubby said the fish was overcooked, but okay; however, the french fries were undercooked. I ordered the chicken breast topped with crab dip. I got a small taste from my fork and the flavor was good. Unfortunately, I had to saw with my knife to try and get through the chicken. It was rubbery as if cooked in a microwave and was not edible. I sent it back to the kitchen. I was not interested in trying anything else at this point and just waited for hubby to finish eating. Wish I remembered to snap a picture. I don't recommend this restaurant - there are plenty of good places around, and we are trying as many as we can.

We didn't take any pictures (which should tell you how fast we dove in), but here's the breakdown: 3 lobster ravioli (including me) 1 truffle ravioli 1 clams and linguine 1 chicken parm And I'm not exaggerating when I say we didn't speak to each other until our plates were cleared. Total silence. Just pure focus. I'm not usually a truffle fan, but when I tried my wife's truffle ravioli, I immediately understood the hype. It wasn't incredible rich (helped me not feel like I needed to be wheeled out afterwards), balanced, and packed with flavor without being overpowering. I genuinely wanted to trade plates. My lobster ravioli was perfect. Not overly heavy, not drowning in sauce just loaded with flavor and cooked exactly right. I would highly recommend this dish to anyone going. The clams and linguine and the chicken parm both got rave reviews from the table too. No weak links anywhere. Our server was kind, attentive, and quick without rushing us. She made the experience even better and handled a busy night like a pro. Pro tip: Make a reservation. We booked on OpenTable and were seated right away on what looked like a packed night. Also, if you park next door like we did pay the meter. Trust me. We learned that lesson the hard way on this trip. If you're in Siesta Key and craving authentic, high-quality Italian, Café Gabbiano is a must. We'll definitely be back.
