I would not recommend this service based on my experience. I hired Joe Horton of Law Serve Pro to conduct three skip traces. All three results were inaccurate. One report identified a completely different individual with the same name, and the other two provided incorrect addresses. After discovering these errors, I requested a refund for two of the skip traces. This request was denied. Instead, responsibility was attributed to standard disclaimers, and I was told the inaccuracies were due to information I provided, which I do not believe was the case. In my view, greater care should have been taken to verify the accuracy of the results before delivering them. The work appeared to rely on unverified or outdated data, without sufficient quality control. Response to Owner: After we talked on the phone, if you knew you couldn't deliver what I was asking for, then you should have rejected the work, instead of repeating your disclaimer. CONSUMERS BEWARE! My experience with LawServePro has been extremely disappointing. I hired LawServePro to serve a defendant in a California small claims matter. I initially gave the incorrect address so I repaid & ordered again. I believed the proof of service was completed incorrectly because it did not identify the person served as the business's agent for service, which is what I understood the service instructions and supporting documents to require. As a result, I hired another company to serve the same documents and prepare a new proof of service, which was completed without issue. After disputes arose regarding the services provided, I filed a credit card dispute. The dispute was ultimately resolved against me. In my understanding, the credit card company was not deciding whether the proof of service was technically completed correctly; rather, it was determining whether LawServePro had provided documentation supporting the transaction. As a result, the charge remained on my account and the merchant retained payment. Despite this, LawServePro later sued me in Maryland, requiring me to defend myself from across the country. Throughout the litigation, I experienced ongoing issues with receiving filings and exhibits. Several documents appeared on the court docket that I did not receive before important deadlines, and some exhibits were not available to me prior to trial. As a self-represented litigant, this made it difficult for me to review and respond to the evidence being presented. I paid Joe Horton to have 5 different cases served on my behalf. On the 6th case, I paid him over $900 to have the opposing parties served, but they weren't because I told him to wait. I had him wait until I filed in Superior Court because the U.S. District Court dismissed the case to have me file in Superior Court. Now that I have the case filed in Superior Court, Joe Horton refused to have the opposing parties served demanding that I pay again for the same parties to be served to which I flatly refused. He claims that I said to "keep the money" as if he gets "free money", however, in the same sentence I told him to wait until I refile in Superior Court in order for him to effect service. This man has no honor and I highly recommend against using his services! I am now disputing the charges for fraud since he refuses to serve those parties without demanding double payment for not doing anything! UPDATE: Joe Horton attempts to justify his failure to perform, but this is fraud. I advised him specifically to "wait" verbatim in email, so that I can refile. Stay away from this company. I was assured upfront that they would be able to serve an individual who is currently incarcerated, and that promise was the only reason I moved forward. After taking my payment, the company failed to complete the service. I was later told they could not serve the person because they are "not an officer." As a professional process‑serving company, they should have known the rules and limitations before accepting my money. This situation is completely unacceptable. The individual to be served is not on the run, and the rules of a prison are standard and well‑known. Any competent company in this field should be fully aware of the proper procedures. The report I received back actually had less information than I had provided to them. Terrible experience with this company. DO NOT USE! We used them to attempt to serve a Defendant in a lawsuit, uploaded the summons and complaint, and they did three attempts and could not locate him. We got alternate service granted and sent them the information to post the documents and specifically listed in the job description the complaint, order and summons were to be posted. The failed to post the complaint and now are trying to charge us full fare to go back out again to post the complaint. STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY. This company was hired to perform a 4 hour stakeout service to serve a subpoena on an evasive witness who was evading service. They charged over $1,000 for the service in advance. Instead of a stakeout, they initiated a simple process service order (which had already been tried on many unsuccessful occasions and they had already received a payment of roughly $500 for these attempts). I hired Lawservepro to complete a Skip Trace service on a former tenant ($133.00). Within two days I received a notice that the individual was found along with his address. The address that was given to me was one in Arizona. I live in Idaho. I responded to the email, and asked if Lawservepro had used all the information I had shared such as parents, phone number, and other known information. A Mr. Horton responded that he wasn't hired to find the individuals parents (Which is true. He was only provided with the information to help him find the individual I was looking for), but he ignored all my questions. I finally ended up calling and got Mr. Horton. I asked him the same questions, and he cut me off and kept deflecting my questions in a very rude and unprofessional manner. I ended up sending a Certified Mail to the individual he had traced "using the latest address on file" according to Mr. Horton. Today I read an email from the individual in question. It was absolutely not the individual I was looking for, and he is now threatening to sue if there is any further action. I would absolutely dissuade anyone from using Lawservepro.
