The buses leave every 20 minutes from Van Nuys. But I have waited over an hour to get picked up by one at LAX. It's awful. Many buses drive right by because they're already full. Do not recommend the service. read more

I was at the flyaway at 9:57 and their policy is to close the doors at 9:58. You could tell they had closed it much sooner since they were all in the booth. They said the bus is closed and that's it. Yes I should have gotten there sooner but what should have taken me an hour drive to get there took over 2 and half hours due to accidents. The other bus did not Leave until 10:31 because the driver had to keep rebooting the system it does not take Disney cards. We'll see if I miss my flight. Just ridiculous that their employees are not being made to follow their own policy! I haven't been on a fly away in years so when I got on this one to and from the airport it literally flew away down the 405. Legit they were hauling some butt, which makes sense now why the bus has seatbelts. The lady driving the 11pm one hopped a curb and wouldn't let anyone get in front of her when we were on the street.. a little reckless as a bus driver. The one coming back he was a little more chill but that's prolly cause we got stuck in Friday night traffic. Anyways it's a bus to take so you can avoid lax traffic esp if you don't live near the airport. It's also $10 to ride it now and you have to tap your card to pay before you enter the seats. The cashier inside wasn't there when we went so make sure your cc is tap, it doesn't seem like they accept cash on the bus. read more

They outright lie about the frequency of buses. 1:30 AM right now and I've been waiting here an hour, have had two Union Station buses stop by in that time without a single Van Nuys. Parking is ok but the buses are not. Avoid them. The drivers are incredibly rude. Good luck getting one at T7 anyway, they are full when they get there. Your luggage is not safe anyway, they don't pay attention loading and unloading bags at the different stops. read more

I've used this service many times and have found it to be great, usually. Here's the problem, I'm watching my family move from gate 7 to 6 then 5 and now 4. All in attempt to get on a bus. If you're flying United it awful. Buses go right past you. Since this happens all the time, why not go past gates 2-4 and pick up some of those people waiting at the end? I don't understand why this should be such a problem. The parking lot and fees are very reasonable and the buses leave on time to get you there. Complete disaster if you arrive at Terminals 4-7. I was at T-6 and waited 80 minutes as FIVE Van Nuys FlyAway buses rolled by without stopping. These buses all have radios and central dispatch. At least one of those five could have reported that there was a load balancing issue ( like having alternate buses skip T1-T3 and Bradley and start with the south side terminals) Clowns! read more

Don't be that person asking your loved ones to take you to LAX. Instead take advantage of the Flyaway! The price is reasonable, and it's convenient to get to LAX with little hassle. Here are my tips: - Buy your ticket in advance to save some time. But DON'T activate it until it's time for you to get on the bus. Tickets are $12.75. - Arrive early. Buses leave every 30 minutes (except in the wee hours of the morning then it's every hour) but if the bus is full you're out of luck. During no busy times I'd say get there at least 30 minutes before the shuttle you'd like to take. During busier times, give yourself an hour. - Parking is a reasonable $6 per day with a 7 day limit. But the parking lot can get full. So you might want to make a reservation beforehand to secure your spot. Otherwise you may have to park on a street nearby and walk over. - Give your self plenty of time to get through LAX. The bus stops at each terminal. If you're at a later terminal, it could take 30 minutes or so to get through LAX before you can get off. So plan accordingly. - When coming home, you may need to wait to get back on a bus if they are full. So don't expect to get right on every time. If you keep those things in mind you should have a nice trip using the flyway. read more

We use the service monthly. Overall very convenient. No wifi/electricity. Parking is safe. I used to buy tickets on the app but then found it is easier just to use your credit card or phone to tap on the bus. Some hours are very busy and you'll have to wait for the next bus (for example, Mondays around 6 am) so plan ahead. On the way back from LAX the bus rarely get full, if you want to avoid it move to terminals 1-3. read more

You can park your car here for a few dollars a day and the ride to and from the airport is also a few dollars. The parking structure also seems very safe - nothing has ever happened to our cars. Very affordable and convenient service. There are many pick up times to choose from that you can see online. Depending on your terminal, make sure to work in that time when you're choosing which bus to catch. If you're deep in LAX they stop at every terminal to drop off so it will take a little longer. Had a bad experience with this driver who showed no empathy whatsoever after realizing that he left my carry on at the curbside at lax and assured me that he loaded it when I got on the bus! I had a long 16hr flight completely exhausted and it was 11pm. As I got out of the bus, I couldn't find my carry on that contained my laptop and valuable items I bought from duty free!!! I was very upset and the staff was not helpful at all!!! Thank God I was contacted by the airlines the following day and they have it in their possession after a good Samaritan turned it in. Good thing my carry on has my name and phone number. Otherwise, it'll be thrown into many luggage's that went missing. Word of advice. Make sure the driver loads your luggage into the cabin before boarding the bus!!! read more

Flyway Van Nuys is a great alternative if you just don't want to drive to LAX and deal with the traffic. I came here this morning to drop off my wife and her family. We arrived in the early morning at 6am but be aware that sometime they can get busy so they'll tell you if you're just better off driving yourself to LAX, it happen to my friend recently. Also if your traveling in a group sometime you just have to wait for the next bus if they can't accommodate for everyone. Remember to just buy your ticket for the flyaway ahead of time to avoid any headache. read more

Along with many other hopeful riders out of LAX, the Van Nuys Fly Away bus route had a complete systemic breakdown today. The wait at Terminal 7 was over 2 hours, with most busses being completely full and passing the stop with no explanation. Not sure why the drivers aren't giving feedback to the dispatchers and adjusting by making the first pick-up for some of the busses further along in the horseshoe. Complete insanity. read more

Recommend for easy, quick way to get from LAX to Van Nuys via LAX's FlyAway! One-way fare of $9.75. New buses with air conditioning, wifi, in-seat power, reclining (not very much) w/footrests. Drivers are very nice with loading luggage and making sure everyone's headed to Van Nuys. They also have a route to Union Station. Landed at 10:30 PM and went to the Flyaway stop in terminal 6 at LAX. 5 empty buses to Van Nuys went by, we waited for 2 hours and I even called the customer service who told me to wait for the next bus. I must say, I love LAX Fly Away in Van Nuys. I have been here twice before when I was living in the Valley for a little while. It is the cheapest and best way to get to LAX from the Valley. I have also used their services too coming back home from LAX. They do not accept or take cash either. You must have your valid ID and credit card or Atm card. Service is good here, and security is good here too. Nobody ever get out of hand. They keep their busses clean too. No complaints. read more

This was such an amazing option! We landed in LAX and walked outside to the curb/ you have to take one of the tacos or shuttles to another area to be picked up by Uber or Lyft. The bus came for the fly away and for $10 they drive you to their station where you can park or your car and leave. Or you can call for an Uber/ Lyft to meet you there. After he explained to us it's 3 pieces of luggage for each passenger I explained to him we had less than that. He ended up calling me a "stupid ass" and throw our luggage inside the bus. If I had time and didn't care about missing my vacation flight I would've gladly stayed there and showed him who the stupid ass really is. When I requested a supervisor or manager they both said they don't have one and that he's in charge! I bought a ticket to use fly away this past Christmas when i pulled up to park on the parking structure that day they wouldn't let me in because according to them i had to reserve parking. Love the flyaway shuttle! Took it on a busy Friday night right after the New Year and the airport was mobbed! Unfortunately, I was in terminal 7 waiting for it to arrive and the first bus that came was full! Thankfully another bus came about 10 minutes later that had space. I love how they changed it to be tap your card on the bus or buy a ticket using their app. I was able to tap my card but had to use a physical card as my Apple Pay didn't work for some reason. The seats were very comfortable and the bus itself was very clean. The ride itself was smooth and quick and they did a great of handling my luggage before and after the trip. It's also very easy to catch an Uber/Lyft as they have a designated pick up area and I got a ride almost instantaneously. Will definitely use them again on my next flight to LAX! read more

If you are going to LAX from the Valley or vice versa, this is the way to travel. It's around $19 one way. They loose a star because sometimes they are short on buses and you have to wait a long time to catch a bus from LAX. You can usually buy your tickets online but currently they are switching to a new system and this is unavailable. It's ok though, you can buy in person. No cash, only card for now. read more

The Flyaway is very easy and convenient for airport drop off. The challenge is getting the bus back to the stations. You can wait 45 minutes or more for a bus especially if you are in terminal 5 or 6. Be ready to wait after your flight. Some buses are full especially mid day. read more

The Van Nuys LAX FlyAway makes life pretty easy. I've used it personally twice for myself (try to fly out of Burbank whenever possible), but pick up my good friend Delia from here when she's visiting from the East Coast. It's never crowded and there always seems to be parking with and easy in more than out (of the parking lot). They've definitely made improvements over the years including aesthetically. They're open 24 hours a day... It's $19.50 for a round trip and only $9.75 for one way... Save that rideshare or headache for your friend, family member, loved one or miscellaneous other willing to brave the 405 for another time and FlyAway on the Van Nuys Bus with efficient and trust! Q Tip: A super amazing Yelper/Elite made an excellent point about waiting to activate you your boarding ticket until right before you board the FlyAway bus, because they do have a small window period of use... Like 3 hours (180 minutes) I believe, but they are valid for 30 days after purchase. You can purchase physical tickets here or at Union Station as well as print them out if easier, but the mobile app is your friend (as is a portable charger). Travel well & travel safe!! read more

I hate driving to LAX. It's a nightmare. Parking is a nightmare. The traffic (around the airport and on the freeways) is a nightmare. So the last time we had to fly, we decided to try out FlyAway since we lived not too far from this location. Well, I am happy to report we are never going to drive ourselves to LAX ever again. We prepaid for parking at the lot and our bus so we rolled up, parked within 5 minutes, and got into the waiting area shortly after. Once the bus came (I will say that we did go on the first bus of the day) we were seated & on our way in under 10 minutes. From the time we left the lot in Van Nuys to when we got to LAX was under 30 minutes. (Once again, this is more about the freeways being empty than the service, but still!). On the return trip, we got our luggage and walked out of the terminal to see the bus rolling right up. We got seated, and since the bus was full, we headed right back to Van Nuys. It was lovely! It took all of the stress out of getting to and from the airport. And the cost was just about the same as it would've cost to park closer to the airport. And that's not factoring in any gas we'd have to get for our car. I have been converted to FlyAway. If you can easily get to the Van Nuys airport, I don't see why you wouldn't use FlyAway for all of our LAX flights. read more
