Only giving them 4 stars because...why would they even check envelopes that obviously only contain one sheet of paper?????Specially when you can totally see that at first sight, no need to even doubt it, plus my package/envelope arrived in mint condition and by that I mean unopened or resealed, what did they check for or how did they do it, if it doesn't appear to have been inspected, stupid. Ordered a bicycle part(a pair of high end forks) from Japan, EMS. 2 days from Japan to this place, then nothing. I figured it was lost after 3 months. USPS was useless in helping me, and told me to call this place. Good luck, you will never get through to somebody. After many phone calls, I gave up. 9 months later it shows up on my porch, no tracking, no nothing, tracking is long since out of the system. So if you just found out your pregnant, your package should arrive around the same time your baby does. In the real world, we lose our jobs for this kind of performance. Absolutely awful. Do a search for "ISC LA Theft" and you will see that packages with missing items coming from, and packages disappearing at this facility are very common. This is the second time I have tried getting a package thru USPS Express Shipping only for it to get held at the Customs location. When not expressed it goes right thru in a couple of days. Guess if you spend more to have them handle your packages the service gets worse. I normally allow one mishap due to mistakes are possible but when it happens twice and the package I did not have shipped express that I ordered on the same day has already arrived I have determined to use another carrier in the future. They cost a bit more but at least I get my packages when promised. My express package arrived and processed on July 19th and has been setting around their facility since. They should be required to call each individual personally when they do not meet their promise date. With an explanation as to why the package is not in your hands. read more

I've been waiting for two packages from Australia since around mid-July but Covid delayed pushing it out on a plane from Melbourne until two or three weeks later. Last week, I checked the tracking notification via the USPS website and figured it would least get on its way to me in Pennsylvania by at least Saturday, August 8th. Sad, but unsurprising, to see so many complaints. I ordered two items from different sellers from eBay--one shipped from the UK (March 29th), and the other from Hong Kong (April 5th). Both packages went through this exact ISC. The UK package has been stuck there for the past ten days, whereas the Hong Kong package was processed within one business day and departed for AZ (where I live). Today, I just received the Hong Kong package, a day earlier than expected. Yet, the UK package, which is more time sensitive to me, is still stuck in ISC Los Angeles. I fully understand the logistical nightmare of having to process a huge number of packages leaving and entering the United States, but is it really logical that a package which was purchased with cheaper shipping (ePacket) and shipped a whole week after the original package (Royal Mail Registered Mail) would arrive earlier? All these reviews (our collective voices) seem to have no significant worth to the United States Postal Service, but just throwing my own situation out there in case someone else can relate. read more

If I could zero-star this place I would. We attempted to ship a box with Christmas gifts to our son in the UK. It left Cortaro, AZ, on 12/11/2019, was never received. Apparently never even shipped. The last tracking entry is in the wee hours of 12/14/2019 at the ISC Los Angeles. Trying to get customer service from the USPS is a joke. Congress, do your job and find a private company which can honestly and accurately handle US mail domestically and internationally! LAX ISC - Post Offices Near Me - Los Angeles, California

So if you're reading this review, you have inevitably been searching around to understand what the LAX ISC is and why a package you are expecting from an international sender has been sitting around in their facility for a few weeks, apparently not moving. If Donald Trump decided to abolish the present USPS and start again instead of proposing to build a wall between the US and Mexico, I think he'd get a landslide victory as the next president! Having just been through this myself, I thought I'd post this review so that you can get a sense of how long it may actually take for your package to process through this facility (at least as of April 2016). I had a package shipped from the UK on March 18th. It arrived at the LAX ISC on Sunday March 20th (not bad, around 5,000 miles of its journey in the first couple of days). It then sat in the LAX ISC for 16 days before it was released to the Airport post office about 1/2 a mile away where it arrived at 12:50pm on Tuesday April 5th. It then left the LAX airport post office at 8:16pm on April 5th and disappeared for a day until it showed up at 2:16am on Thursday April 7th, about 8 miles away at the USPS office at 7003, South Central Boulevard. It left that depot and arrived at the local post office at 5:51am on Friday April 8th for the delivery address at 7381 La Tijera Blvd about 8 miles from the previous USPS facility on S Central Blvd. When it left the La Tijera USPS facility for delivery, it wasn't scanned, so it had the appearance of being still at the USPS on La Tijera however around 4:30pm on April 8th, the mail carrier delivered it and it finally arrived. There was no sign that the original packaging had been opened and re-sealed, so this isn't an issue of US Customs selecting the package for inspection on the way into the country. So the bottom line is this. If your package is sitting at LAX ISC, there is nothing you can do about it. You can't call them to expedite it and the local post offices can't do anything to help you. It is going to probably take around 14-16 days for it to make it out of there at present. Evidently the issue is related to the amount of incoming international mail and the level of manpower (and unionized manpower at that) which is making sure they process 50-60 pieces of mail per hour per person. In short, there appear to be far more international packages coming into this facility than they can cope with and nobody at the USPS seems to want to acknowledge this, let along try to address it because after all, taking 3 weeks to deliver a package for a service that should take 5-7 days max is completely acceptable. Once it made it out of LAX ISC, the final delivery address was 4 miles door to door from LAX ISC and the domestic/local part of the USPS delivery to get the first class package to the delivery address took another 4 days while the package bounced around 3 additional USPS facilities in the Los Angeles area. It appears that by adding the ability to track packages online a year or so ago that USPS intended to make their service more transparent and comparable to the alternatives like FedEx and UPS Ground however all that tracking is doing in this case is highlighting how woefully inefficient and unaccountable they are at providing anything close to a basic level of service. read more

If I could give this center of idiots a lower rating, I WOULD!!! This is one of the USPS "black holes" located around the USA. This one happened to be in the path of an electronics gadget that I ordered from Japan on July 7, 2015. It is now the morning of July 16 and nothing at my doorstep. Ironically, the item was flown out of Japan on July 10, the day after I ordered it. It arrived at the ISC, LA "hole" on July 11 and is still there. This facility is the poster child for the USPS lack of efficiency. Ironically, I also ordered another electronics item from Shenzhen, China on the same day. That item arrived on July 13, exactly seven days after I placed the order. I ALWAYS ship FedEx unless there is a reason why that is not possible. UPS, a distant second... However, when one is RECEIVING items from overseas, one is at the mercy of the USPS, since most overseas shippers choose their local postal system that is usually linked with the USPS, since they are the most reasonably priced. read more
