Staff were pretty quick to clean up tables so there was always somewhere to sit down. The Iced Mango Matcha Latte was my favorite, where you can taste a sweet matcha flavor with a hint of mango. All of the desserts looked delicious, but what peaked my interest was the Pistachio Croissant. This is my new favorite coffeehouse in Rochester. It's so exquisite inside, quite beautiful, indeed. It looks like has gold accents dripping among a natural wood, white and tile backdrop. Whenever I drive by the parking lot is slammed. I knew this place had to be good. There is almost completely instantly a line and I felt lucky to find a table. It's simply so popular, I don't know if it's large enough. The tables are close so if you're trying to have a private conversation-you won't get it here. There is a variety of seating options. Comfy conversation chairs, a booth banquette with chairs on the other side, chairs and tables, and a bar top along the windows with outside eating for warm sunny days. The cups are a rich brown color with gold probably Arabic writing. The dessert case is filled with sumptuous fruit shaped mousse desserts. The coffee itself is beyond compare. There are boxed games. Things are delivered to your table on wooden trays. It's so elegant. I cannot say enough nice things. The staff is so friendly. I had a Nutella latte and a raspberry dessert. I asked which dessert was best, the lady at the register said the mango. Mango is not my thing but she said next best is raspberry. It's the perfect size. A hard crisp shell, creamy mousse and a perfect raspberry center. I also got a pistachio latte. Both were excellent. read more

Honestly I was hoping for more from this place. I would say it's mediocre at best. Maybe it was what I ordered. We stopped on a Saturday and it was pretty busy, so we took our coffee and dessert to go. We had the baidani coffee. The server warned us that it was very light, almost watery. Which it definitely was, but all the spices also dropped to the bottom of the drink. We ended up with sweet off tasting water. The pistachio cheesecake was okay. Nothing to go out of my way for. Yemeni coffee has arrived here in Rochester! This is one of many new coffee/tea spots that have popped up across ROC featuring the beautiful spiced teas of the Meditarranean-Turkey- Arabian peninsula. Must: get yourself a tea. I highly recommend the Adeni tea. this is basically a chai that is milder in flavor profile finished with evaporated milk that gives it that luxurious rich flavor. Evaporated milk has less fat than whole cream, so do not feel bad indulging in this tea made from usually from cardomom and ginger. Desserts: In terms of uniqueness, would recommend the honey comb bread- a mixture of cream cheese and honey that you wouldn't think would go together but comes out mildly savory with the sweet. It's a drier bread almost pita like. Would also recommend one of the cream cakes- pistachio is a safe option here and really any place that dares feature it. The mousse I think is a little overhyped. Prettier and stunning on inside but nothing too special inside. I am more of a mousse w/ tartness and these mousse are more sweet. It can taste a little too saccharine alongside your milk tea so if you're going to do mousse, would avoid a milk based drink so this can shine better. Ambiance is nice. I like that you can be somewhat loud and talkative with your friends but the overall talking becomes ambient noise to where you can also do busy work like a cafe. The whole interior feels grand with gold, marble, and elegant. Hours are also open very long so it's a good place to go after hours in other restaurants that may shoo you out. Overall if you're tired of the typical cafe and want a different experience for your afternoon tea, this is the to check out. I think overshooting when you drive is very easy so be on the lookout and turn earlier into the lot because it's impossible to go back once you overshoot. read more

Came in to try this new cafe with friends! As soon as I got here I realized they don't have decaf so that was hard for me as I can't have full caffeinated drinks. I ended up trying their pomegranate burst refresher which was not the best, I found it tasted kind of like a syrup medicine which was not the taste I was hoping for. My friends did enjoy their drinks and the coffee house itself is beautiful! I do not think I would come back unless they add decaf coffee options, but if you can have caffeine this place is great! I have been back many times - there's always a line, the parking lot is impossible to find the first time, and the space is so bright. All worth it, by a long shot. The coffee drinks do lean a little sweet but you can request less, if you'd like. The pastries are all fantastic - the honey bites may be my favorite. The only thing I've purchased here that I didn't entirely like was a Dubai chocolate bar - I wish the chocolate had been dark and snappier. Lots of tables and chairs, I still long for a coffee shop with a couch or more plush seating to spend time in. This is more of a social spot than a place to work or read unless you love busy places for that. However, it's great for socializing. Great coffee and tea. Excellent service. read more

Layali has great interior decor that evokes the Middle East while also featuring some fun tie-ins to the region of Rochester NY. When we went, it was pretty bumping, lots of people there for 4pm on a Friday (or so I thought). I had the Iced Mocha Mirage Latte which was very sweet and chocolate-y and delicious. The person I was with had their red tea drink which I tried a sip of, which was spiced in a very tasty way as well. The service was courteous. I'm definitely down to check this place out again, especially when they open their upcoming new location on Park Avenue. Check them out, you won't be disappointed! read more

We finally made it in for a visit and it did not disappoint! It feels like we're getting a wave of Middle Eastern coffee houses lately, and honestly, I'm here for it! Believe it or not, this space used to be a Dunkin Donuts. Now it's transformed into an elegant cafe with shades of white, cream, and gold. There's plenty of seating, and outlets everywhere, great for laptops, phones, or USB cords. Some folks were just hanging out, others clearly there for work. Even though it was busy, the space remained peaceful and quiet inside. The staff was pleasant, though it seems like they're still working through some growing pains when it comes to getting orders out quickly. It is what it is.., I ordered an iced pistachio latte (you can get any drink hot or iced), and it was lovely not overly sweet, which was nice. I already know what I'm trying next time. And yes, I treated myself to a bar of Dubai Milk Chocolate, scrumptious! Two sizes available, priced between $10-$15. Ordered a cinabanana latte which was excellent! Dark coffee sweetened with banana syrup and cream. It tastes like summer! Also got a Baidani coffee which was interesting. It has cardamom and sesame seeds in it. I could've do e without the seeds bc of the texture. I kept think8ng it was backwash. The flavors were good, the coffee was weak and more like a tea. Layali Coffee House is such a cute cafe in an area where you really wouldn't expect this level of class and quality. The decor is beautiful, considerate, and elegant. Although the prices may look steep to some, it is well worth it (and really, it's only as expensive as Starbucks). The staff are friendly and helpful, and both the drinks and treats are excellent. Honestly, even the bathrooms were decorated with class, but the only downside there is that the toilet paper is thin so it rips very easily. My first impression upon entering was amazement at how lovely the decor and atmosphere are. Everything looks so new and clean. We have so many great coffee shops in the area but Layali manages to be especially inviting. I came in on a Thursday evening after 7pm and it was noticeably busy. A very energetic vibe to be found. Despite the business, my order came out quickly. I was given a buzzer to wait. I ordered a pistachio iced matcha, three layer cake, and Dubai chocolate bar. All of the baked goods looked wonderful. I had a hard time choosing what I wanted to order. An addition which would be helpful for customers would be some sort of labeling system for the dessert case. Nothing was labeled and I had to ask the barista the name of each individual item I was interested in. Pointing at the item for her to see and then she would tell me what the item was. This felt awkward after asking about 2-3 items and I chose something because I didn't want to keep asking what each item was. As for the quality of the items ordered, excellent. I am a frequent matcha drinker and this pistachio matcha was especially delicious. Didn't taste overly artificial, perfect amount of pistachio flavor. The cake was picture perfect with a light soft sponge. Great quality. My 3 items amounted to $24.79 which is on the higher side for this offering, but the luxury quality made me feel I got my moneys worth. I was very impressed with my visit and I think Layali brings a unique offering to the area. Henrietta is a drive from where I live but it was so worth it and I would love to visit again. read more

The interior of this place is absolutely gorgeous. The drinks are also excellent. The mango matcha was the perfect balance of bitter and sweet, and the mango tasted like real mango purée. The viral fruit shaped mousses weren't my favorite, the flavor was good I just was expecting it to pack more of a punch. They're good at getting the usually long ordering line down, but both times I've been, we waited longer for our treats (from the case) than our drinks and our drinks took a while. They also don't yell the names out loud so you have to make sure to listen really well. It was only a problem for us when someone took my friend's cheesecake she ordered and they didn't have any slices left. Otherwise a good experience, I definitely want to try their other drinks! read more

Had a great first experience this past weekend checking out Layali for the first time. It was a busy Sunday morning so we had time to look at the menu and check out all the treat options! I ordered an iced pistachio latte (half sweet) with almond milk and a pistachio croissant. The only downside was it was a little bit of a wait to get the drinks but as I mentioned it was very busy. Love Layali. Great atmosphere with beautiful interiors, comfy seating, and most importantly - great coffee. The americano is my go to. I am currently renting out the back private room, and it is exceptional apart from the loud heater so be wary of that if you have a call. It is definitely loud. Every worker is kind, professional, and prompt. Hoping Layali expands, succeeds, and does not go away anytime soon. I enjoy coming here even if it's a 15 minute drive from my home. Absolutely loved this coffee shop! If we lived in Rochester, we'd come all the time. During our visit, we stopped by every day. Their flavors are unique and subtle, not artificial or overly sweet. My favorite was the honey saffron latte. The service was also excellent, so friendly and welcoming. It is also an absolutely beautiful coffee shop, not just any hole in the wall shop. I am NOT a fan of flavored coffee drinks. I'm normally a total purist. However, do NOT miss trying the signature HOT LAYALI LATTE. Absolutely exquisite. Came here with our family of 5 and tried 6 different drinks and 3 different pastries. The HOT drinks are definitely better than the cold as the warmth brings out the flavors of the native spices. The pastries are very "middle eastern" in texture and not for everyone. We enjoyed the sabaya because of the subtle flavor of toasted sesame seeds and honey. But the phyllo dough is very tough to chew. I stood for a long time asking questions of one of the young men stirring the amazing ADENI TEA. (This drink is also a must try!) He told me they import all their spices from their native Yemen. The only negatives for me were the choice of music playing and they have NO DECAF OR GLUTEN FREE offerings. Important to us as I cannot have caffeine and 1 daughter cannot eat gluten at all. While it lends itself to the cultural feel the music played here sounded very repetitive and dark. All in all, my entire family enjoyed the atmosphere as well as the coffees and teas. Very comfortable seating and beautiful decor. read more

Layali is my favorite cafe because the coffee is organic, big selection of drinks, they have traditional drinks and trendy drinks, they are Muslim owned and attract a lot of Muslims and they have a prayer room. The ambiance is very nice as well. The staff is very friendly. The bathrooms are very nice. Very nice bidet hahaha. I've never been in a cafe that ticks so many boxes like them. They have out done themselves. I'm not surprised it gets so busy in there. They really thought everything out to stand out. Mashallah. Layali has been very popular since the soft opening, but service is very efficient given the crowd. Some of the drinks seem pricier than an average cafe in the area, but the quality exceeds expectations. Hours are also very convenient as the cafe is open later than most coffee shops. The pistachio latte is delicious! The biscoff cake is also quite good, very soft and milky. Although I haven't tried it, the Adeni tea smells amazing and my friend loves it.
