office experience could be more respectful and professional. Especially the director of admissions and the business manager.

They ignore our requests They do not provide consistent supplies needed by sister to manage her care We have involved ombudsman to no avail We have had numerous meetings with administrator, DON, Social Services and nurse managers Do not intrust your love ones to this facility Grossly understaffed Cadia's attention is only paid to the money making areas Rehabilitation, Ventilation unit and Dialysis units The residential floor is always under staffed no continuity of care is ever possible they receive cold hard to chew food Inadequate supplies No designated dementia care area dementia patients are put in with coherent patients thus exposing them to patients who don't sleep, can be loud and combative and simply have no awareness of their surroundings. Administration refuses to check for compatibility of roommates said that's discrimination But the coherent patient has no quality of life and has to suffer Just think twice about Cadia Pike Creek for your loved ones. Pro: smoke area, activities for the residents, clean environment, staff vending machine…read more Con: understaff workers, terrible management, disorganized medication process. This review of the facility is based on my experience as a staff nurse in 2019. My review will detail how I saw the resident of the facility being treated and the obstacles the staff had to deal with. Also, please note that since this review is based on my 2019 experience so there may be changes that have improve the facility since then or worsen due to the Covid-19 pandemic. This facility operate as a nursing home/rehab place. Upon entering the building there is a fireplace on the left, the cafeteria on the right, and in the middle is big bird cage filled with birds for the resident entertainment. There is four units with three unit in the top floor and one unit on the basement floor. I work on the basement unit and the name was Terrance. On the unit we have 17 bedroom that is shared so a max of 34 residents. For staff, this place is a 5 day a week for 8 hour work place. Work hours are 7am-3pm, 3pm-11pm, and 11pm-7am. To clock in you need a ID# type in and to scan your fingerprint which sometime doesn't accept the first time which can be an annoyance. The staffing ratio was horrible, on the ground floor unit it was 1 nurse to 17 residents and 1 CNA to assist you. The ratio was so bad how do find the time to do assessment, cleaning, feeding, passing meds, charting? Another thing that annoyed me as a staff worker was when trying to pull narcotic for the patient from the Pyxis you needed a second nurse but it was always hard to find someone because it was always busy and understaffed. I also witness a manager who would try to provoke a dementia patient by pretending to swing his fist at him. Lastly, another bad thing about working here as a nurse is that the facility doesn't use an insulin scale to determine how much insulin to give a resident who has a high blood sugar. You have to call the doctor every time and they will tell you how much insulin to give. I had a resident who blood sugar everyday was over 300 so I literally had to call the doctor every night to determine how much Insulin to give. Resident have a call light they can press to call the nurse and at the nursing station it ring very annoying like a very loud buzzing. For the resident they have events like music time and activities they can do. They get daily lab draw and if they need like an X-ray an outside company come to the facilities and does them. The building has a back yard type area where people can smoke. I have seen confuse resident be neglected and left outside in the hallway. They have an area in the basement where therapist come and do rehab with the patients. Resident are free to leave and come back. I worked at this place as a new graduate nurse and I would not recommend any RN come here to work at this place due to bad management & the nurse to patient ratio. This place was so bad that at some point during my time working here after finishing my med pass & charting, I would look for a new job and I was able to find a job at a hospital where it is 10x better for a new graduate nurse. Some of the coworker that I work with were so happy for me when I put in my 2 week resignation. All in all if you love your family member that I highly recommend you don't send them here.

Where do I even begin…read more.. The level of care we've experienced has been deeply disappointing. Nurses frequently sit in the hallways on their phones or chart for long periods, yet little to nothing appears in the patient portal. Calls to the nursing station often go unanswered--even when messages are left. Patients are told to stay in bed due to fall risk, but then made to wait extended periods for assistance to the bathroom. When help doesn't arrive in time, they're then chastised for accidents. That is not care--that's neglect. Communication is vague and frustrating. "We can call the doctor" seems to be a standard response, but that doesn't mean a call is actually made. Doctors stop by infrequently and provide minimal updates. Meanwhile, families are left in the dark. Overall there is a troubling lack of urgency or accountability. Discharge has been unnecessarily difficult to coordinate. Physical therapy itself has been a bright spot, but it's limited to about an hour a day, which doesn't justify the broader experience. If you have a loved one here, be prepared to advocate for them daily. Ask questions, follow up constantly, and don't assume things are being handled behind the scenes. This has not been the level of care we expected or were led to believe we would receive.

This place is a joke. My mother was sent here after a fall for physical therapy and all she got was…read moredrugged up and basically no physical therapy. She was there for a month and still can't stand up much less use a walker. The doctor gave me no updates other than my mother presents as someone 20 years older than she is and that she should stay there all the while pumping her full of Oxycontin for a bed sore. She ended up with a UTI and was completely out of it from the infection and the medications so she lost an entire week of "physical" therapy. After her skilled nursing coverage ran out, the doctor put "only needing part time assistance" in her chart knowing it was unsafe. The finance office was super attentive however (sarcasm). They would call constantly asking for a copy of the deed to her house, her life insurance policy, her bank account number, etc... pressuring her to go into long term care even though she was incoherent for half the time she was there. I wouldn't send a dead rabid raccoon to this place.

Ennita introduced us to Zandra, one of the Directors, who provided a comprehensive tour of the facility and thoughtfully answered every question we had. Zandra's deep knowledge of the community, programs, and services--combined with her genuine "can-do" attitude--gave us complete confidence in selecting Seaton for my mother's Independent Living care. It has truly been a pleasure partnering with Seaton Senior Living Community in this important transition for my mother. The staff and advisors consistently exceeded expectations. I can confidently say that you surpassed what I understand to be the current industry standard--particularly in terms of responsiveness and engagement. If I'm mistaken about that industry standard, then that's a very good thing. Either way, the speed, clarity, and volume of communication (texts, emails, and calls) immediately eased my concerns and transformed what I expected to be a long and tedious process into a smooth and reassuring experience. As a security consultant and business owner, one additional aspect that truly impressed me was the level of access control upon entering the facility. Other communities we visited did not have this measure in place--I was able to walk in without interfacing with anyone, which in today's environment is not reassuring at all. Seaton Senior Living Community clearly checks all the boxes when it comes to best practices in security standards. Because of this experience, my mindset shifted almost instantly--from "this is going to take a while" to "Let's GOOOOO!" (happy yell and dance included). It is clear that Seaton operates at an expert level. I sincerely appreciate the professionalism, urgency, and genuine care demonstrated throughout this process. I have only one suggestion: Let's do a commercial together Thank you again, and God bless.

Without a doubt, I've been blown away by the staff and quality of services they provide! My mom is a very active, social person, and she participates in all the activities - she's always telling me about something exciting they are doing. From musical guests to special food tastings, outings to local attractions, and more. I especially want to comment on the smart, compassionate management of Seaton when folks get sick. They work hard to ensure residents stay healthy and are taken care of both physically and mentally if they need to pause in-person activities. I greatly appreciate the staff at Seaton. Su, Janae, Chef Musa, the entire staff - and the community who live there - are wonderful. Anyone looking to move to a retirement community like this would be lucky.
