I had really been looking forward to trying this place out. My first impression walking in is that the place is decorated in a unique and fun way. I like the records on the wall as well as the paintings. The gentleman working the front was polite and helpful. He offered to make suggestions and even asked discovery questions in an attempt to make the most appropriate recommendations. My husband and I had to start with the original chicken strips to see how they were. I feel like they were okay. The chicken was moist but it also didn't have a lot of flavor either. My husband claimed that the spicy had good flavor. I realize that Layne's was established before Cane's but I tried Cane's first, so I couldn't help but compare the sauces, which look a lot alike. Layne's sauce is quite similar to Cane's but it is spicier and has a Smokey flavor that I'm not totally sure how I feel about it. The fries were okay. Not great, not bad, just, okay. They are fries. I tried three different sauces, just to see what I liked. Layne's (described above) jalapeño ranch (not my personal favorite) and the cream gravy. The gravy tastes exactly like Whataburger cream gravy to me. If you've had theirs, you know what Layne's is like. We are certainly willing to try it again. I feel like I would like to try their wrap next time. I would prefer to give it a 3.5 star vs 4, but that isn't an option and I feel like I need to like it just a little more to move my rating to a 4 or 5. Overall, the food was decent. The original sauce tastes like a weaker version of Cane's, while Layne's sauce has a strong black pepper kick. The fries and tenders were hot and crispy but greasier than I like. We ordered inside for takeout, and the wait was very long, only to find out our food had been given to someone else. Tried out Layne's while going through Marble Falls and had a good experience. They have both spicy and regular tenders and both were great. There were also some good looking sandwiches that I'll need to come back and try. Enjoyed the Layne's Sauce with the spicy tenders. The regular tenders were good but the spicy ones won. We stopped in and had a 3 finger regular with ranch, and a 4 finger spicy with Layne's sauce. The chicken was fresh and delicious, we both liked the sauces. Crinkle fries are my favorite and theirs were great. The toast was good. The tea was good, overall solid lunch and a great price for two. Another great chicken place in Marble Falls. A little expensive, but you pay up for better quality food. This restaurant carries a real neat history that's written on the walls inside, you can Google for a more in-depth version. Small fast food restaurant, some booth and tables on the inside. The soda fountain is self-serve, which is great. I hate asking for a refill and letting someone else touch my cup. no Dr Pepper zero which is sad but they did have Coke zero. The chicken tasted great. I got the five piece spicy chicken strip basket. It wasn't all that spicy, so for those who have a low tolerance to spicy food it's not that bad. The dipping sauce that they give you taste great on the chicken or the fries, which are very crispy and seasoned well. It comes with toasted bread that I also dipped in the sauce. I love Raising Canes but this is much better! We ordered the spicy and I was surprised that it had a kick to it. The Layne's sauce was good, would pick that one again. Fries and toast also awesome and the portions were great. Looking forward to when they open one in San Antonio. Only complaint is it took about 20 minutes to get our food. Went to drive thru at laynes today omg the service I recieved first when I placed my order a kids meal comes with 2pieces of chicken tenders and fries and a kids drink I asked them to up the size on the drink I asked for half and half I had to repeat myself.Then the cashier had the pinkest hair which to me is very unprofessional so I recieved my order as I took off and drove away I tried the fries they tasted if they had been there for awhile my chicken tenders were warm my tea had hardly any ice.. Foods good but whomever closed tonight shut things down over an hour early and lied to UBer Eats and claimed I called and canceled my order. So once I received the cancel notification that specified I called the store and canceled... I did call the store to figure out what was going on and spoke to the person and she verified she wanted to get a head start on shutting things down... but claimed her system started automatically making those false claims to Uber Eats... We've eaten here five times since opening. Never used the drive thru and have always ordered inside and wait times have been reasonable. We've eaten in the restaurant once. The wait seemed longer than when we got the food to go. Every time the food was hot and tasty. We're not fond of the Layne's sauce so we usually get gravy or jalapeño ranch sauce. I think they get a lot of call in or online (DoorDash) orders that are picked up at the drive thru which might explain why it seems the drive thru customers get priority. All in all Laynes is our go to for fried chicken. read more

The food was great and I reccomend it! My one concern was the floors seemed very slippery that day. I am not sure my disabled family member would have been able to navigate the floors without slipping. I probably will do the drive through if I go back. read more

We tried Laynes last night. I had the 4 strip tender basket and Rob had the wrap. The chicken tenders are truly the best we have had in town. Large strips that were crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside; I could only eat 3. They gave me lots of crinkle cut fries that were some of the best we've ever had. The Texas toast was good too. Rob said the wrap was delicious but on the small side so he would get 2 next time. The employees work hard and were so friendly. There was a long line at drive through but it moved fast. We're excited to have this family owned Texas fast food venue move in just minutes from our neighborhood. read more

Delicious meal with such a courteous and attentive staff that you can't find anywhere else these days! The rewards program is bomb so we'll already be redeeming rewards for a free meal on our next visit with the app. Inside was great. We're looking for something to eat, and we decided to try the famous laynes and it said it's open till 10:30 pm‼ we got there around 10:02 pm we know that some restaurants close there dinning early so we went to the drive through thinking we'd get served and there was other car in front of up but nun of the cars were getting served at all and we understand but if it 30 MINUTES BEFORE CLOSING YOU SHOULD AT LEAST GET ONE LAST CUSTOMER !!! read more

If you go in there with your family to sit down and eat, make sure you all each individually make your orders separately, so the morons that work there don't get confused and have 3 different employees come up and ask you the same thing three times in a row while you're trying to sit down and relax,,if people are sitting down with cups drinking your lemonade, then it's obvious they've already ordered something. I don't appreciate the manager storming in and acting all bewildered at our presence. We had come in together and all sat down while the person paying ordered our food. I thought I explained it pretty clearly when I told him the first time we all came in together and our food has already been ordered,, I guess the manager is hard of hearing because another person came out and asked the same damn thing,, and still they couldn't understand what was going on,,, so these gollums threw all three of our orders all in one box,,, so make sure each member of your family stands in line and makes their orders individually,,, so they don't get confused and send the manager out and act all confused and bewildered why y'all are there and bother you while you're trying to relax and drink your lemonade,,here's an idea why don't you let people sit down and relax and leave them alone, because to me, it feels almost passive aggressive,,we're people,,, we're not cattle that needs to be prodded along,,, not everybody that walks in with a group of people needs to individually identify themselves to you and explain why they are there,, let them sit down and relax for chrissakes,, people are more than just numbers,, use your common sense,, three people walk into a restaurant together and one of them orders three separate meals,,, it's not a riddle,, obviously one of them is ordering for everybody else,,, what's the confusion?
