Beautiful location and a nice stop for a relaxing wine tasting. There is a patio to relax and enjoy although it can get noisy as it does attract families with children as there is a playground area on the lawn. We enjoyed the stroll along the nature trail and we saw a bald eagle flying overhead. The service was very friendly and welcoming.

I loved this place! The wine flight we tried was perfect but the frozen wine was the winner! If I ever want to get away for the day I'll be going straight to Laytons!

Stopped in with friends on the way back from OC. If you're a lover of sweet wines then this is the perfect spot for you. I'm just in love with this place because they put Harriet Tubman on the bottle!

Coming from California, you are used to having an overwhelming amount of good to great wine literally in your backyard. Out on the East Coast, you have to work a little harder to find good local wine, but Layton's Chance is a good option for those interested in traditional East Coast style wine. The winery is a bit off the beaten path, but is a relatively quick diversion heading to Ocean City and beyond. The winery and building are very nice with a classic seaside look. You are offered a small or large tasting option depending on your preference and designated driver situation. I sampled a few local options including a Norton and watermelon wine that made it into my bag at the end of the visit. There are plenty of options for sweet and dry wine lovers including those great local styles that thrive in the coastal mid-Atlantic. This is not Napa. That said, if you enjoy wine, you will probably enjoy a stop here. It is perfect for buying some great bottles heading to your summer beach house or even just packing the cellar back in the District. Be careful with navigation leading you too far away; just follow the signs and enjoy the wine!

    Nice little pit stop!

Found this place by chance due to too much traffic - pulled over from a road trip! This place is beautiful! My boyfriend and I got to enjoy about 8 of the sweet wines ("bo berry" was my favorite - Bought a bottle before we left!). Lots of parking available and such a beautiful area too.

I try not to be a wine snob ... but it's a sweet wine tour bus type of place. Just not my taste. Staff was very friendly and nice.

We felt so welcomed. When we drove up that little Mansion we could not believe our Eyes. Directly on the water in a magical setting...something we will never forget and definitely will revisit! We were greeted and got a tour that justified its history. We did have perfect weather conditions, so when we came back from dinner, we enjoyed ourselves for a little walk around the gardens and lake. The view from our balcony was stunning...you really have to pinch yourself...just making sure you're not dreaming...it made us feel happy as can be. The next morning...David prepared a beautiful spread of breakfast. Crab &Swiss cheese omelette, roasted Yukon potato, turkey bacon, country sausage, the bread basket had lavish varieties and customed as well towards my girl who has celiac disease with gluten free options, Room tempered butter, I think even the raspberry marmalade was homemade, fresh berries...I mean nothing was missing and it was put together with such care. Since we were the first of the season...David was able to join us. What a great morning we had thanks to him...thank you so very much!! A must see venue, that is highly recommended!

They also had a beautiful bar with stool top chairs and a huge television/ monitor. This place can literally used for anything from family get together, parties, club nights, but for us it was used to hold our repass. As you enter straight, you will be enamored by the grandness of the spacious ballroom with plenty of room for an elaborate event whether it's a wedding, reception, gala etc. We attended a book release gala and felt the luxury of the venue with some mini or flaws of which can be easily remedied of management take pride in this space. Sarah had been the epitome of the heart and soul of customer service as I visited several times with the organizers of the gala. Her patience and knowledge was impeccable! She thoroughly answered all questions and made herself available when needed. As you walk up the curved steps there are several rooms including a beautiful chandelier room with a panoramic view. This room is perfect backdrop for elegant photos. There's ample space for an open or cash bar in the section to your left. Cocktail hour was fancied by high top tables and the most friendly staff members at the open bar area. The bathrooms were well decorated and maintained. Unfortunately, there was no heat which was surprising as this place screams of luxury. Also, this was one of the coldest days of the year. I think that food should be included as I was aware that the food at the gala had been catered by a private chef or restaurant. There is plenty of parking which is within a gated area.

The venue itself is a gem, a beautiful and elegant space. The maintenance leaves a lot to be desired. We hosted our event 12/5, the heat was not working in all areas, the chandelier rooms upstairs are beautiful but the walls could stand a cleaning or touchup paint job. They supplied a chaise for photos however it was stained. Personally, I caution anyone wanting to use this venue to read the contract and sit with management to review all sections as there are contradictory. Contract states we would have venue staff on the day of the event, however, we only had Daniel who monitored inside and one security officer who stayed in their vehicle the entire event. The rest was our guests, catering company staff, Our DJ and did I mention the freezing spaces Management stopped by for a quick introduction (first time meeting them though this rental is overpriced) during our event... I advise folks to request numerous walkthroughs and meet management or owners prior to full commitment . Beautiful space but I was let down by lack of consideration from management...
