I've been here several times for lunch and have very much so enjoyed the experience. For starters, I feel like the portions are generous given the prices. There is very little chance of you leaving this place hungry. I've found the service and staff to be fantastic. Really above and beyond in terms of checking on you and making sure you have everything you need. They have lunch specials, which are great. There is also a small bar section where you can sit and get a beer. They don't appear to have a large selection of beer. And that's fine, it's just nice to have it as an option. And then there are some small, particular details that I appreciate. I tend to drink water when I go out to eat and I love that they have big water cups. I'm hesitant about saying anything because I truly like this venue especially for lunch. But, yesterday I noticed a difference in my usual order of the Shawarma platter with hummus. I ate here for the first time for lunch today with a friend. The food and service was absolutely amazing! I had the chicken swarma wrap (made it spicy, hold the pickles, added lettuce and onions) with Greek cole slaw as a side which was so delicious. I ate every single bite. The price and serving size was perfect. We sat outside enjoying the weather. Never felt rushed and was checked on a few times by staff to see if we needed anything and to take our trays. I am shocked that I haven't left a review for Laziza in Evans yet! Laziza has been on the rotation for quite a bit now and even more so since my toddler loves it there and asks for "Maziza french fries" randomly. My husband and I have been coming here since it was located where Namaste is now. Food is yummy - the chicken shawarma platters and wraps are my favorite meals but I also enjoy getting their lentil soup and tabbouleh salad. Their hummus selection is first class and if you like garlic, then you will find their house made toum to be delightful. The French fries...oh my gosh. Either try them alone or as the feta fries. The only thing you'll regret is that you will have eaten the whole bowl. We really like falafel but have noticed that sometimes, probably due to their size, they are not evenly cooked in the middle. The staff at Laziza is very friendly and helpful. If you dine in, you leave your things on the table and they will bus it for you. You can order your food at the counter or now at a separate kiosk. I def expected it to be better so I'm a bit disappointed. I came here expecting so many options and I thought their menu was pretty minimal. I opted for the salmon bowl with white rice, lettuce, cucumbers (not enough) & red onions. I didn't finish the bowl but I was full. The salmon was small and dry but seasoned well. I asked for my gRanch on the side as I didn't know what it would taste like but I got a side of tzatziki as well (addt'l) $1, as was the feta. Crazy! I also asked for Tabouleh and I really just wanted a bit on my bowl but had to pay for a side salad basically ($4.50). The cashier told me all this so it wasn't a surprise but I feel like there should be more topping offers allowed or featured, not added on. We went to Friday Evans Market Place with vendors and shopping. We chose this food truck to eat based on its menu. I had the gyro beef and lamb wrap. WORTH every cent. Huge and delicious! The tzatziki sauce was wonderful. But the best was the lamb. My husband had the gyro bowl and wished he had the wrap. Too much rice for him. But bottom line, all was absolutely delicious. Visiting the suburban Laziza yielded a similar food experience to the downtown outlet (or the catering that I've had from them), which is good quality Mediterranean staples. I wish I'd asked them to hold the pickles on my falafel wrap, but it was fresh and tasty, and those fries are indulgent (and there are plenty of salad and soup options if you don't want fries). Compared with the original, this location is larger, but is not as happening; the downtown Laziza is usually one of the busiest spots in the area. They have a happy hour deal on falafel wraps but I don't think I got it from the person at the register here; and I was in too much of a hurry to think things through. That irked me enough that I went elsewhere for dessert, but overall this is a local standard and definitely one of the better options for the vegetarian or vegan diner. read more

Stopped by Laziza the other day and ordered the chicken schawarma platter with baba ganoush, regular hummus, and grilled vegetables. The chicken schawarma was more like small chunks of rotisserie chicken and had a similar smoky, salty flavor with reasonable tenderness. The baba ganoush had great eggplant and garlicy flavor and was a light side to dip my pita bread in. The hummus was relatively standard fare, a bit thicker than ones I've had at some other restaurants but had a nice spice powder. The grilled vegetables were well seasoned and just crunchy enough with some feta cheese on top. Overall for $18 it's a decent enough middle eastern spot, and it was much better than takeout from their other location. read more

One of the best Mediterranean foods I've ever tried. I got their grilled chicken kabob platter with jalapeño hummus. It comes with two pitas slightly toasted and it had a light crunchiness to it, yet soft inside. I just used the jalapeño hummus as a dip and it was amazing. It wasn't too spicy but still had that slight kick of flavor to go well with the pita. The chicken wasn't dry at all; slightly moist and didn't have an overwhelming amount of seasoning to it; grilled to perfection. The white rice that comes with it mixed well with the chicken to make a "clean" chicken and rice meal; nothing too crazy on calories but very tasteful. Adding the hummus in and mixing it to give the chicken & rice some additional flavor was good too. Overall I really enjoyed this meal and definitely will be back again. Next time I'll try dining in instead of ordering To Go. The staff seemed friendly and facilities were kept really clean. They also have home made hummus for purchase and offer a selection of wines to go with it. I remember them having a dessert option like gelatos, but that's something for next time to give a shot! We love Laziza! Almost every two weeks like clockwork we're either eating at the restaurant or ordering it to-go for dinner. Everything is so flavorful and it's a much healthier option than other options in Evans. Recently they changed their to-go containers from a styrofoam box to these much nicer plastic containers. But we couldn't help but notice that the portions seemed much smaller. The amount of chicken we normally get I'm usually struggling to finish. These new portions I was left hungry. A Shawarma platter costs $15 and I'm sorry but this doesn't seem like we're getting our moneys worth. I recommend to eat inside. Ate Dinner for the first time at Laziza Mediterranean Grill in evans. We've never had that genre of food and were excited to try it when he read the menu online. We each ordered something different so we could share and got the chicken Shawarma platter with rice and grilled veggies and the salmon platter with falafel and fries. Both plates came with pitas and amazing hummus. A bit pricey, but the portions are generous, so we took home leftovers and will get two more meals from it. There are some good vegan options and the hummus was amazing. The Mediterranean food scene in the Augusta area varies in the target clientele and can be very hit or miss. Ranging from the Zoes in Augusta that serves deli sandwiches but no falafel and rancid sauces to homestyle authentic Turkish food at Shishkebab in Evans. Laziza strikes a nice balance - a little fusion-ey with dishes to suit a range of food and flavor preferences. Low carb, GF, vegan, vegetarian all can be accommodated and whether you are a Mediterranean food lover or looking for an approachable place to try out a new cuisine you will be satisfied with the offerings at Laziza. Growing up eating Mediterranean food I get fussy about too much 'fusion' cuisine. I also get fussy about restaurants that add dairy to their tahini sauce - it's not proper and it breaks my heart. (multiple dairy allergies in my family) So right off the bat I was skeptical of Laziza and refused to try it my entire first year in Augusta. While I am still offended by the tahini sauce I was pleasantly surprised by Laziza overall. Here's what we got: Plain hummus - 5/5 everything you wish for in hummus, creamy and indulgent, the chickpeas and tahini are the stars of the show in terms of flavor. Jalapeno hummus - 2/5 I didn't order but another member of my party did. It tastes overwhelmingly of jalapenos. If you like jalapeno and don't like hummus then this might be a good dish to try. Lentil soup - 3/5 bland with too much rice. I would order it again but it is not exciting. Cauliflower bowl with veggies instead of rice - 4/5 it comes with ranch but I got greek dressing instead. The cauliflower is AMAZING, it would be better with tahini (sorry, I can't get past the tahini thing) but the cauliflower itself is SO good!!! I'd love it if there were some chickpeas or a GF vegan options with more protein. I'd order again maybe with half rice half veggies and a side of hummus. Falafel pita: my partner gave it a 5/5, I didn't try it or inspect it (i.e. steal the pickles) because the falafel have gluten and I was sad about it Grape leaves - 4/5 no complaints, they're good My husband got a pretty bad upset stomach after eating his meal and then again after eating the leftovers. Pricey and not tasty. Spent $28 for a chicken platter with side salad and an extra steak kebab ($9). Meat was dry and nothing special. Very unimpressive, especially the $9 steak kebab, which was just a little stick with unflavorful dry meat on it. Red pepper hummus was good though. read more

03/21/23 - 8:20pm - party of one During a recent business trip, i saw Laziza on Yelp. After checking out the menu, I thought this would be the spot since I love middle eastern and Persian food. Sadly, it was extremely disappointing. I ordered the Chicken Shawarma Platter with rice, roasted pepper hummus and tabuleh salad as my side (upcharge for tabuleh). I got my order to go and attempted to eat it at my hotel less than 2 miles away. The rice was so dry, it was crunchy. The meat was also very dry and the garlic sauce wasn't able to revive it. The roasted pepper hummus, pita bread and tabuleh were excellent though. Very disappointing overall, especially for the $18.33 price. There were a few other customers getting dinners to go before the restaurant closed at 9pm. I hope they had better luck than me. read more

What a nice & friendly cozy place! This is the first place that I have been that offers a keto bowl! And they have cauliflower!! The bowl consisted of grilled chicken, cauliflower, mushrooms, zucchini, grilled onions & mushrooms topped with a cheesy sauce. This is the spot for Mediterranean food!!! Everything was delectable. Everything had flavor and great seasoning. I tried these feta fries and omgosh I have been missing out. The fries were fried to a crispy perfection with crumbles of feta cheese and cheese sauce. Loved my gyro platter. I do wish they gave more pita bread cause they give you humus too so trying to eat the meat with pita bread and humus doesn't allow enough. Besides that it was awesome. The food is very good but unfortunately, EVERY time we go in our order online, they get our order wrong. We swear we won't go back but 8 months later, decide to try again, hoping the employees will be better trained. I'm store employees don't know the menu when you ask questions. This time, we ordered a simple gyro wrap with no tomatoes. (I ordered the chicken shawarma platter). I checked the bag before leaving but didn't understand the"gyro". Got all the way gone and started eating and it was a wrap with chicken, tomatoes and pickles. I called in and they remade it. What management needs to understand: now when I get back with the correct order, everything else is cold and gross. They should always remake the entire order. I think we will give up after many years of trying. Maybe if they trained their employees better before putting them to work, the extra time could save them money in the long run. read more
