I've eaten here before with no complaints but today's food was not good! The meaty calzone I ordered had more ricotta cheese and other cheeses than meat. I barely tasted any meat and I ate a little over half just to make sure I wasn't imagining it. It used to be full of various meats but this one I could barely taste any meat. The service was absolutely amazing though. I had the spinach and cheese dip before my calzone so I got full fast. I ate the other portion of the half when I got home. Had a great experience at Mellow! The decorations are so fun and cute, and we were greeted as soon as we walked in. The dip for an appetizer is to die for and I could have eaten that as my meal! We had the Great White, Taco Nirvana, and Mighty Meat-which all tasted delicious. The service from Landon was stellar and probably the best service we have had in a long time. Amazing! Great service, great food, great atmosphere. Our party of 7 were sat in a long booth, but my Pops decided he would rather have a table for more room and comfort. The server and host were so pleasant and accommodating. They relocated us with no problems. The server was a guy who said he had only been working there for a couple weeks. Unfortunately, I do not remember his name, but he was top notch h in his care for us and attentiveness. They were testing out a new payment device and our table was the first on which he had used it. This place is always on point. I've never had bad service here. Or bad food. Mellow Mushroom has a knack for coming up with some interesting variations on pizza, plus all the types you'd expect and want. The Taco Nirvana pizza is incredible. The pretzel bites are also amazing and their beer cheese is amazing too. If you drink, they have a nice draft beer selection too, even having a few local brews. I also love the atmosphere too. It's well decorated like a psychedelic playground with classic rock songs playing in the background. And to top it off, a lot of TVs so you can watch all the important sports games while you have some amazing pizza. It's quickly become my favorite place to grab pizza in town. read more

Always wanted to try Mellow Mushroom, and we (wife and son) had a chance two weekends ago. First I didn't realize how big MM was! The place was crowded, and the staff was very friendly and busy. Had a table close to the entrance door and could see just how fast paced the waitresses and other staff members were. Had a chance to "visit" the pizza makers and Wow! How impressive they were. Tossing those pies and making them. Just incredible! Well we had a very friendly waitress, Olivie, (I hope I spelled her name correctly). She took our drink order, and after giving us a few minutes to think about what kind of pizza we wanted, we decided on a 16 inch pizza with Anchovies and sausage! Yep it's a rare combination but so delicious. After a little while, the piping hot pizza arrived and well, it was delicious! Haven't had a real delicious pizza since leaving New York City many years ago, but the pizza here was equally as good as any New York City pizza I ever had. Found out that the "Pizza Maker" was a staff member named Sarah. Well, Sarah must have been trained well as like I said, the pizza was outstanding! So. Five stars for our server, Oliviie, Five stars for the Pizza Maker, Sarah, and Five stars for the delicious pizza, Over all a very pleasant experience. Will be back. read more

I love how every Mellow Mushroom has its unique style and theme. I sat at the bar with my girlfriend and her family. The bartender was friendly and timely with the order. My girlfriend and I split a small pizza, and each had two cocktails. Half of the pizza was the Cosmic Karma, packed with toppings, sauce, and cheese. It's my favorite pizza to get a mellow. I have been craving Mellow Mushroom all week and my Husband obliged my request and took me! We originally went to downtown Augusta but of course parking is a nightmare on a Friday night. Didn't feel like driving to Aiken so we went to Evans. This was our first time at the Evans location. And, it was a great experience. Our server was awesome as well! When we arrived, we were quoted a 30 min wait for 4 at a booth. We waited maybe 15 mins, if that. Also, it was around 7:30 on a Friday evening, so that's not bad at all. We ordered the Cheese Bread and Bruschetta as appetizers. Both favorites of ours. I had the Kosmic Karma small pizza. My absolute favorite here. My husband had the small Mighty meaty (no pictured) but also a family favorite. My son had the Thai Chili wings, absolutely delicious and he didn't want to share. My daughter had the bacon burger (not pictured) and she enjoyed every bite. read more

We normally get a little Greek salad as our starter but tonight we started with the pretzel bites and beer cheese! It completely hit the spot! As for our pizza, we did a medium half and half. First time visiting Mellow Mushroom after living here for 14 years. Fun vibe - it was trivia night so a little bit loud (but I got most of the trivia questions right even though I wasn't playing). We ordered the new Mellow Rolz and they were delicious (the cheese ones). I ordered a vegie calzone - it was great. You can't get calzones at many of the local pizza places, and this was very good. Mellow Mushroom Evans is one of our go to pizza places in town. Not much will deliver to our address so if we have to go into town, we go to mellow. A medium loud chain pizza joint serving up some good food and customer service. I like the merry prankster best and it's been my go to since it's been on the menu. The cocktails are good with a fully stocked bar. My only reason for the lack of 5 stars is that when live music is there, it is incredibly loud. Really liked her Our food was super good and came out quick. We were seated right away too. Pizzas are customizable and my bro was able to make a pizza into a calzone! Super cool they have paper straws but you can ask for regular straws if you prefer as well. It was very clean and their menu is versatile which I love! Over three hours for a dine-in experience. I understand the dinner rush, especially on a Friday night and with family and children - but there is no way two pizzas, an order of wings, and a sandwich should take THREE HOURS to make and serve. 6 of us went for dinner at 5:30 on Friday 3/31 - our drinks and apps came out relatively quickly, but that was the first and only part of the service that went smoothly. After that, two of our party had to change their items to to-go since they had been waiting too long and they had to get their kid home to bed. After they left, our pizzas took over an hour to arrive . When we asked for an update, we were told they were in the oven at that very moment and would be our shortly. Now, as a person who has had hot and fresh pizza before, when our pizzas did finally arrive it was VERY clearly evident that the pizzas had been sitting for a while growing cold. After a day at the Riverbanks Zoo with our friends, getting pizza was the most agreed upon choice. I've got my friend addicted to Yelp and she's been slowly but surely getting those reviews in. It was either this location or the one in Aiken as both were on the way back home, but she chose this one based on reviews. Honestly, I was super skeptical about ever coming back, but the owner took the time to reach out to me and I really appreciated that. So we came back with our friends at about 1pm on a Saturday and had a much better experience. Didn't catch our server's name, but my receipt indicates "Lil Morgan" took care of us, lol. She wasn't the happiest but she was knowledgeable, got everything out to us in a timely manner, checked in on us without hovering and was easy to find when we needed her. Food was bomb. We never order appetizers if it's just me and my husband, but with our friends we got the spinach artichoke dip, and that was such a great decision. I'm pretty sure the first thing out of everyone's mouth was, "woooah that's really good" and the second was, "so uh, did y'all want anymore?" My old man and I got a small buffalo chicken pizza with ranch to share, and it was really well put together. It wasn't overly spicy and the chicken was tender not chewy. Again, a small was the perfect size at 4 slices for two adults, but I'd definitely ask to get it double sliced next time so the pieces are a bit smaller and uniform. I ate inside about 1230pm for lunch on a weekday. The two of us were seated in an area of booths all to ourselves for almost the entire time we were there. Masks worn by every employee I saw except for one, pretty clean area we were in overall. Our waitress was great and attentive. Food came pretty quickly. We ordered a large pizza regular crust - half holy shiitake/half Buffalo chicken and an order of pretzel bites with beer cheese sauce (free with Yelp check in). Pretzel bites were good, bigger plate of them than I thought. The cheese sauce was really good. The pizza was huge and enough for leftovers for lunch tomorrow too. Buffalo chicken had a lot of chicken and bacon - not just a couple pieces here and there. Holy Shiitake was amazing too, it was my favorite of the two. They have a big portion of the front parking lot signed off for to go/curbside and it looks pretty quick to do. read more

A very disappointing experience. Frankly, the price of the beer and the taste of the Italian Hoagie propped this review up to 3 star from 2. I will say the live music was also good. I sat at the bar at 8:45 on a Thursday night. It took quite a few minutes before I was acknowledged. In the meantime, three different people were asked if they needed refills on their beverages. A group of three young men sat at the same time as me and they ended up leaving because they were never acknowledged. I asked to have the tv changed to the NFL game. The request was forgotten until I was asked about ordering food. Note: the bar and the restaurant were NOT busy. I ordered my food, which took more than 20 minutes to arrive. I would have expected it to be piping hot. Nope! The tots were cold (did not taste good) and the sandwich warm (it did taste good). The reviews repeatedly speak to poor service. Apparently , it has not changed. My experience was well below par (Mellow in other places is good). Pretty sure I will not be returning. read more

So glad to see the quality and greatness of this place has not suffered due to pandemic issues. I recently came back to Augusta and the stuffed meatballs were a must as soon as I arrived. The were just as I remembered if not better. The place in VERY clean, the staff is always friendly and ready to help. I was able to try their pretzel bites by of their Yelp check-in offer and OMG. Now I can't pick which I love more the meatballs or the pretzel bites with their flavor packed beer cheese for dipping. If you need amazing pizza with a super chill vibe this is your spot. Call ahead to confirm hours as things are a little different due to our current situation. We tried the sausagefest calzone, the Buffalo and the Kosmic ABSOLUTELY AMAZING.
