We ordered the Baba Ghanoush as an appetizer and the Chicken Shawarma bowl and Beef & Lamb Gyro platter as our main course. Both the Chicken Shawarma and Gyro platter were luke warm at best. Some of the Gyro meat was dried out and didn't appear fresh. The Baba Ghanoush was good but came out after our main course which was disappointing. The first time we went, a couple of weeks after opening, was really good. Yesterday was very disappointing.

We got the falafel platter and the lamb wrap with sides of grilled veggies and baba ganoush. The platter also came with hummus (choice of regular, jalapeno, red pepper). There is no coffee on the menu and you have to ask for a side of sauces - tahini, tzaziki, etc. The place was busy and given the rush, the service level was reasonably apt. The meat was tender in the lamb and beef wrap and had the right mix of spices and sauces. For some reason though, the salt profile was exaggerated as I worked my way down the wrap. The grilled veggies had zucchini, tomatoes, onions, and mushrooms with feta cheese sprinkled on top. The falafels were a little dry and tough. It's almost as if they are cooking the stuff in Augusta and reheating it here. Baba ganoush had way too much olive oil but the taste was acceptable. Overall the food was decent and I'm giving it three stars. However, based on the high bar set by the Augusta location, it can be improved. I really hope they pay some attention to the food quality. We'll visit again in a month or two.

First time in, the service was quick. Take out packed up well and ready in 5-7min. The food was excellent, great flavor and reasonable portions. I will definitely be back.

This is the entirety of my chicken kebob order.

Just wasted 20.00. When you ask for no sauce on your food and it comes drenched in sauce it's disappointing. Why can't people get it right?

I had purchase a baklava cheesecake, a molten lava cake, a rice pudding lentil soup with pita bread. Unfortunately, though, they were out of the molten lava cake, so they gave me an extra cheesecake. The service was amazing, and I have to say about the ambience. Pretty chill there was hardly anyone there and you know what? This was a wonderful experience for me. I highly recommend this restaurant. If you never been, this will really open your perspective truly.

This Turkish restaurant has a wide…read morevariety of grilled options to choose from starting from your classic chicken kebobs, gyros, to rib eye steak kebobs. Their platter option comes with rice and pita along with a small container of sauce. Their meats are about 7oz per kebob, so the $17.50 chicken Kebob is a single kebob with a hefty portion, but not a cheap cost. They are also flexible on substituting one kebob for another, especially if you get the mixed platter, but there is a surcharge. The meats are grilled freshly on the spot and very moist. The rice isn't dry and the balance of everything comes together well. Food isn't greasy or heavy, especially if you're cautious on getting the cleaner options like chicken kebob and rice. Shishkebab always seem to have some special to take advantage of. For example, their Father's Day special is a 4 meat mixed fajitas for $25. The interior design is quite unique with a small shop area on the side with Turkish chocolates and desserts for sale. Most of the restaurant looks like any normal restaurant with booths and tables, but another corner has been furnished for more of a traditional Turkish look. The furnishing makes it look like a hookah lounge; looks quite relaxing to dine sitting there. They also have unique Turkish weapons and dolls furnished along the walls giving this place a unique authentic vibe. Overall, the food is not heavy and pretty healthy if you get basic stuff like chicken & rice and not go too heavy on the sauces/sides. I really enjoyed eating their food and certainly will be back. Highly recommend this place as they are definitely one of the best Mediterranean food restaurants in Augusta.

We tried to enter, but the door was locked. After a few mins. we tried again. Still locked. There is a table with chairs outside, so we sat and proceeded to wait. A few minutes later, the waiter (there was only 1), told us he hadn't bothered to open the door as the chef had not arrived yet. We said it wasn't a problem as we were not in a hurry and we could spend the time having something to drink (iced tea) and perusing the menu. After the chef finally arrived and we could order, we ordered the Dolmadaki to share and two entrees that came with salads. We told the waiter that we would order dessert after dinner. The waiter eventually brought out the salads. Nothing special, but very overdressed. He then brought out the entrees. (In between his service, he spent a lot of time looking at himself and fixing his hair in a mirror on the wall in this small dining room.) My chicken souvlaki was very dry, served in large lumps that were difficult to cut. Potatoes were ok. My husbands beef kabob was flavorless, and his red lentils also lacked flavor. At this point we were still the only patrons and Andrew was the only waiter. He then came over, and asked if we were ready for the check. We informed him that we each wanted to order baklava and that he needed to make sure that our check did not include the Dolmadaki which we never received. He acted surprised that we hadn't received the appetizer, in spite of the fact that we were the only patrons and he was the only waiter. He went back to the kitchen and when he returned he told us that they only had 1 baklava as the chef didn't bake any that day. We requested our check instead. He proceeded to say that the Dolmadaki would be out shortly, at which point we informed him that we did not want them as they were to be our appetizer, not something we wanted to eat after dinner. When he finally brought the check, I needed to ask him to remove the used dinner plates so that I could deal with the check. While I was very tempted not to leave any, left a very meager 12% tip that day. Due to all of the above (and the fact that the only bathroom had an overflowing trash bin, no hand sanitizer in the dispenser, and could have used a good general cleaning) we cannot in good conscience recommend this restaurant. It was also interesting to note that when we left there were still no other patrons, but the restaurant next door was booming. Next time we'll try there.
