Great compassionate service and care for a summer visitor with an emergency. At 830 am I was in the chair being treated and felt much better that day. I could even eat again that evening! I can't say enough good things about Dr Mahan and his staff. Best of all my home dentist told me Dr Mahan "did exactly the right thing"! read more

Is it possible to give no star? Worst experience ever. Unscrupulous business practices. From lying about the money they took from me to trying to make me feel guilty about not signing up for their dental payment plan. He charged for 400 consulting when they didn't bother to actually file with my insurance. When I tried to get my money back they refused. I got 64 dollars back out of a total of 600 for a cleaning and the consultation. Insurance company also paid them 1200. This was filed after initial got their initial bill. I had to pay cash upfront. They wouldn't even give me hard copies of my xrays. Do not go there. read more

History

Established in 1981.

As a 1981 graduate of New York University's College of Dentistry, Dr. Mahan began his career with the US Navy Dental Corps. After 4 years of active duty, Dr. Mahan established his private dental practice at the Jersey shore in two locations: Toms River and Ship Bottom on Long Beach Island. Both locations allow him to perform the highest quality comprehensive dental care including implants, root canals, porcelain veneers, cosmetic dentistry including tooth colored fillings, crowns, tooth whitening, Invisalign orthodontics, bridges, Snap On Smile, Perio Protect,and StemSave, as well as preventive periodontal care. Dr. Mahan has just completed 26 years of active and reserve service with the US Navy Dental Corps and now enjoys his hobbies of boating, kayaking, skiing and sailing. Dr. Mahan resides in Toms River with his family and is a member of the OCYMCA, and is the Past-President of the Toms River Sunrise Rotary.

I met Dr Mahan several months ago. Today, after putting my faith in his professionalism, I smile like a Movie Star. That is the easiest way to put it. He quoted a max price and is well below it. He has hit a lot of bumps along the way but has dealt with them and kept moving to the finish line. He is very funny. I am in a good mood every time I leave the office and I have gone 16 times in the last 6 months. On Christmas Eve my temporary bridge fell out 3 times (i needed temp cement so I could get the permanent teeth right after New Years). I kept going back, he kept gluing them back in. Finally we agreed on the permanent cement and that kept them in. No charge! Today I got the permanent teeth, FANTASTIC! He is truly a great man. read more

Dr. Stan Mahan has been my dentist for over a decade. He's kept my mouth healthy -- and chewing ... despite my tooth-unfriendly grinding bite. I have had three implants done by him, which gave my bite a new beginning. Dr. Mahan has also does work with the military, which makes him a fine choice for vets. Check him out. read more
