It was a wonderful experience. I had PT and OT every day beginning 11/16. My call bell was almost always answered immediately. The night staff did not smile or talk much but they always helped me in the way I needed or asked for. I had never been hospitalized before other than maternity. Scar tissue starts forming immediately after surgery so PT and OT are vital Immediately, not a week down the road when the VNA can schedule home visits. I was considered a hifi functioning patient so could have returned home. I'm so glad I opted for North Hill Rehab. There is no way my needs could be met at home in such a timely fashion.

The facility is quiet and quite clean and pleasant. Luckily, Stinky got a room to himself even though it was a room for two patients. Wicked lucky! The nursing care was quite good and attentive for the most part. The nurse that worked during the day was very good, and am sorry, forgot her name. The nurses that worked during the evening shifts were awesome. RN,s Ed and Martin could not have been nicer and more attentive to the cranky old dude. The only slight downside was that a few of the aides were not all that great and a bit difficult, but most were ok. They did seem to work hard though. Stinky knows it is not the easiest job. They PT staff were very nice and were very good with their skills. The food was actually quite decent though and they seemed to want to please. That being said, Stinky would not want to spend another two weeks here if he didn't have to, but if he did have to he would put this at the top of the list of placement preferences.

Then, leadership decided to expand, causing years of disruption to current residents that continue today. They were asked for their input and it was largely ignored. In an effort to keep up with nearby for-profit independent living facilities, this non-profit has become indistinguishable from them--with one important exception: the staff remain exceptional. That's why this review gets two stars instead of one. But the leadership has made decisions that, in our experience, prioritize profit over community and the health and welfare of residents. When the project is finally complete, it may well be a gleaming palace but at a real cost.

I left a message one evening at Heritage and was contacted early the next morning. It was one of the easiest things I have done in the past few years dealing with facilities for both my Mom and husband. Everyone I met went out of their way and rearranged their schedules to facilitate a quick transfer out of a rehabilitation facility which my friend was paying out of pocket for since her insurance ran out. I am so impressed by the staff and their attitudes. They seem to enjoy their jobs! My friend loves the activities and the food. She calls me to brag about some of her meals. The food is surprisingly great (I ate there for a week!), and the facility is homey, and very well decorated - and that's coming from me, an interior designer! The days are long and boring. The apartments are spacious and housekeeping and the food are very good. But certainly think they could do much better on the activities and field trip side.. professional artists use to come in for classes now they put out some crayons and coloring books. Field trips were monthly and interesting now they are nonexistent. Other than the apartments and the food which is adequate. And most of the employees i would say it is adequate at best and very expensive.

Our mother has been a resident at Waterstone for over four years. When we realized that she would…read morerequire assisted living, we looked at a number of facilities in the Boston suburbs, and interviewed staff. Waterstone was rather new at that point but, comparing it to the other facilities that we looked at, and comparing the costs, we felt that this facility, its staff, the programs - and the food! - made Waterstone the best value and the best fit. Now, four years later, we are happy with the experience our Mom has had at Waterstone. She is suffering from some progressive dementia, and so requires an increasing level of care, but the Waterstone staff has been accommodating and supportive. There is a personal touch to everything, and we rest well knowing that our Mom is well cared for. The programs and events are sophisticated and stimulating - and the staff are open to suggestions for more types of events. We ourselves often visit, eat with our Mom, and attend events with her. We are on a first-name basis with a number of staff members. The facility is ample and is well laid out to encourage social interaction - if Mom doesn't feel up to going out, she still doesn't feel "cooped up" or isolated if she stays inside. She makes use of the library/living room and of the public areas every day. We also like the location - right off of Route 128, behind Wellesley Hills shopping, but tucked away, and adjacent to the Charles River and its walking paths, a footbridge and beautiful foliage. The community of residents is interesting and stimulating. And, in talking casually with other residents and their families, we have found that most are also happy with Waterstone, and it is a supportive residential community. We have highly recommended Waterstone to others looking for assisted living accommodations for their loved ones, and we will continue to do so.

Both my father and aunt were in Benchmark facilities and horrific is not even a strong enough description. . I got my father out barely in time. These are not nursing homes and I fear they are being left uncared for as they always say they "can't provide 24 hour care". Are they doing it now? Why are there so many cases? This facility will literally will put your loved one at risk. My father was rushed to the ER after I found him slumped over in a chair. His room was next to the nursing station. I asked the nurse simple questions like has a doctor made his rounds today and seen my father and did he eat his breakfast. The nurse would not answer these questions directly, forcing me to ask them repeatedly until she admitted she did not know the answers and would have to get back to me. I then asked for assistance for my father. Two people came to check on my father including the doctor. It was not until the 3RD person came in and they took his vitals. It was a dire situation and he desperately needed O2. Thankfully they relented and called the ambulance. During this difficult time, the nurse who I asked the simple questions reported me to the administration. Jeremy, some sort of nursing supervisor, entered my room (while my father was in distress) and accused me of threatening behavior, which he could not articulate. He then threatened to call the POLICE to have my arrested. LOL Guys, these guys are unprofessional clowns. If you have a loved one who you care about, do not send them here. If you have someone you are trying to get rid of or possibly punish, this is your place.

The food is excellent. Not your usual crummy hospital food. They serve lox, matzah ball soup, roast chicken, and more tasty goodies. Try and get a single room if you can. Located on Centre Street in Roslindale, part of Boston, they are down the street from Faulkner Hospital, on the other side of the street. There is ample free parking.
