    Tasting bar!

This brand spankin' new LCBO just opened on July 9th. It is the alternative to the King and Spadina location which has permanently closed. You know, condos. Upon entry from Spadina, the first thing you notice is that it is accessible to all with an elevator right in the foyer. Turn the corner and there are just a few steps to climb. Keeping the integrity of the original building, this gorgeous loft-like space is impressive. Wooden beams everywhere. The square footage seems greater than the old location. The shelves and fridges are fully stocked and I heard they haven't even displayed everything yet! I noticed way more variety/selection of seemingly all types of libations. I was so surprised to see a tasting area in the back by the wines for so many bottles of wine and liquor. Can't afford that $3800 bottle of Hennessy? No problem. You can splurge on a $45 tasting of it! This is a five star store, but truth be told, when the crowds come on Friday and Saturday nights, we shall see... The real test will be how efficient the transactions will be processed. The lines were easily 20 people long going down the aisles at the old location. Given the floor plan, I'm not sure if they've considered the masses. I also won't be surprised if people knock over some of the displays when it gets busier too. The footprint must be larger but it's not exactly spacious with all the products they have. All in all, the people will come! It's the best (and only) liquor store in the area for all the condo dwellers in the King West entertainment district.

wow just wow LCBO nailed this location out of the park, i was told by friends that this location was really nice, and to see the building on the outside you wouldn't think much of it, but on the inside is fabulous(equal to Summerhill location) i came here on a Friday night and i was one of the only people at this location, which i thought was really funny, zero staff greeting me, zero customers walking around. lots of selection at this location, including a lot of rare items that I've not seen at any other Lcbo, the tasting bar has a wide selection of stuff to try, and its a shame no one was around, cause i would have taken up on that offer. the only negatives about this location is that it does not have a direct transit stop, so whichever stop you have to get off at, you have to do a bit of walking, also when i came for a visit, there was someone outside asking me for change on the way in, and a smoke on the way out(my favorite!), no staff around to ask questions, and for some reason this location had three security guards at the time of my visit. pretty happy with this location and i can't wait to come back, and this location is a far cry from the king and spadina location. this location also offers same day pick up, for orders placed in advanced transit options: 510 spadina, 504 A/B King with a bit of a walk there is a parking lot that backs onto the building, and street parking if you can find it. everyone downtown should come out to this location!

Visited On: August 28, 2019 Would I Return: HELLS YEAH Thought: I noticed a new LCBO opened up near work and decided to check it out. Man was I surprised and pleased with the selection. The store itself looks very small from the outside, but it's like a duty free inside. Very big and so many options to choose from. They also had a Hennessy and Kavi Reserve sampling in the evening around 5:30 PM on Wednesday when we went. They have many bottles you wouldn't usually find in your local LCBO.

Kids love the word "aura" these days, and when my dad asked me what it means I told him "think Soho…read moreHouse 2010-2014." That confused him more but I like messing with my dad. Forreal though, the run Soho House had can only be rivaled by 2011-2015 Whole Foods. You really had to be there... but like any other prime, Father Time always catches up. I was set to do a full rise and fall piece on the Soho House right here on Yelp but in my research, I stumbled upon an article by Lydia Moynihan in the NY Post and she nailed it. I really didn't have much to add so go over and read that if you have a sec. Shoutout to Lydia. Instead, I'll just recap our experience here like any other boring Yelp Review. We came to this Toronto location before the Taylor Swift concert, and I was pleasantly surprised. It felt like prime Soho House. A beautiful, discrete brick building with an old school interior. Whoever designed this one needs a raise. I'm so tired of the cookie cutter half-assed modern architecture. The ones in LA and NY now feel like it is just a bunch of dorks trying to be seen by God knows who. There is no soul in those locations. We grabbed a drink in the lobby and went upstairs for our 5pm dinner. I domed a couple of negronis and we split a margherita pizza and a bottle of pinot noir before our mains arrived. I got the rigatoni, per the waitresses recommendation because she had a thick Italian accent. Big truss. She wasn't lying either, that rigatoni went crazy. I took like 30 pictures before a staff member came over and said no pictures, as I didn't know that was still a rule here... please don't beat me up. We closed dinner with a couple espresso martinis before setting off on foot to go see Big Tay put on a show. She really did her thing. Thank you Soho House Toronto, for giving me a taste of what the Soho House used to be in the states. IG @jnov_ Tiktok @jnov_reviews

Come for the douche bags, stay for the salad. The interior…read moredesign here is actually nice. They have a eclectic and faux rustic vibe going on with seating and sight lines set up so that you can watch who is in the room. Truly designed for today's busy d-bag to allow them to half listen to their guest over cocktails while they scan the room to see if someone more important has walked in. The food is meh and it feels like this place simply exists for indie film and local television producers to feel like they are a part of some scene. There are 200 better places to eat a short walk from here.

Gayle wanted a bottle of wine for our nearby Hilton Hotel room and as we unsuccessfully tried to…read morelocate the address of this LCBO, it struck both of us that we needed to go below street level. So after descending into this section of Toronto's extensive underground business district, we found this LCBO almost immediately. LCBO (Liquor Control Board of Ontario) must be the "free market" brand of what remains to be a Province controlled alcohol enterprise. Unlike the old Pennsylvania State stores, our LCBO experience was one of a clean and modern store, with helpful employees, a really nice selection (and purchase), and reasonable prices. I still prefer the more complete free market approach that Alberta has, but when in Rome. Our 2 chardonnay choices were: - J. Lohr Riverstone - Pelee Island (Ontario) - When in Canada, why not buy Canadian wine?

I don't have a lot of nice things to say about this location…read more its tiny, its hard to walk around, and the stock is terrible, granted the wine selection here is very good, to the point where they have like 70% wine vs anything else. if you need something that's a staple, like Bacardi white rum, or smirinoff vodka, you will find it here, but don't expect to find anything of flavor, or uncommon stuff here. the staff are the redeeming factor here, and the location is great, just the selection is terrible, and selection is what gets people in the door. this location is in the path of the BMO building, underground parking is available, and this location is serviced by the 504 king streetcar, the 514 cherry, and the #6 bay bus.
