I've been going to Merchant's for about 7 years now. They've changed ownership at least once since…read morethen, but the customer service has never seen a decline. Previously, the employees were knowledgeable about beer and wine. Now, what they lack in overall knowledge, they make up for in a desire to try new things and order whatever their customers want. For example, this past weekend I noticed a 4 pack of Goose Island Bourbon County Stout. I've never tried this beer, but have heard good things. The problem was the price - $23.99/4 pack! I asked if they would consider breaking the 4 pack and they did! No problem. On top of that, the guy behind the counter said he would take one home to try so we could compare notes. A strong desire to serve the customer - what else can you ask for?

I did a wine tasting here and I was really impressed with how knowledgable Zack the owner was not only about wine and the different types, but the different regions around the world and the grapes that go into making a wine taste like it does. Went to this LCBO yesterday to pick up some alcohol for tonights NYE festivities. My mission was to pick up some ciders for myself, and I first went to the refrigerated area and there was only one kind, plus the mixed drinks, such as the hard root beer and pop shoppe pops. I thought this was all they had until I realized there was another smaller section with more to choose from. It wasn't that busy, so checkout was fast and easy. They take Air Miles here, but under government regulations, can't redeem them, but you can definitely earn here. The cashier was an older lady, who definitely wanted us through fast. Of course I'm finally starting not getting ID'd, but anyone who looks under 25 will. The selection in this LCBO, again, isn't as large as the selections in the bigger ones around town, but if you're looking for your basic mixed drinks, beers, ciders, wines etc..then this place is good enough for you to get what you need. It's close and convenient too.
