I was looking for a liqueur I had at a Brazilian steakhouse that I really enjoyed and our server said, "There's a place in Allen Park that sells it." I asked around about the best selection for liquor stores and Top Shelf was recommended. This store is Big! Yet I found what I wanted glancing down the second aisle! I was so happy I also found another item my dad used to enjoy and got a bottle for the holidays. The staff were very friendly and helpful. This is the place if you're looking for something special as I only saw probably 1/10 of the store. I'd need 30+ minutes to just browse, there's so much! I thought the prices were reasonable for what I purchased. There's curbside parking in front on Allen Road plus private parking in back with easy accessibility for those using devices. Inside the store might be tight in some spots. The place was very clean and orderly. I highly recommend you check out this local business! I will definitely be back! read more

New owner and this place is awesome if you like craft beer. The growler station is absolutely amazing with many taps. The liquor selection has increased as well, last owner had empty shelves. When Allen Park street fair is going they supply cups for your tall boys which is way cheaper than buying from the vendors at the street fair. This place is a must go to. read more

I don't know much about liquor stores. I've been in them here and there for various reasons over the years. When I think about liquor stores, I think about candy, chips, pop, beer and decadent-shaped bottles hiding behind the bullet-proof glass counter. I think about the creeps and bums that hang around outside asking for change. I also think about how I feel I need a shower after leaving. Not at Top Shelf Liquor. This is by far the nicest liquor store I've ever visited. It is well-lit, well-organized and very open. The guys behind the open counter always greet customers and are always sure to ask if they need help finding anything. Their liquor selection is vast, with multiple sizes of each poison. I don't know anything about beer, but it seemed like 75% of their coolers were filled with kinds I've never seen before... which is probably exciting to beer lovers. There's also aisles and aisles of wine, for my Yelp winos out there. I just feel safe here... Not that sticky, "When can I get the eff out of here" feeling. Top Shelf Liquor is aptly named. Haven't had too much experience with the new setup yet but they do growler fills now (with a good selection of beers!) and still are very into stocking good craft beer and top shelf liquors. Walked in on a Friday night looking to grab some beer for the evening. I must say, for a liquor store it was very clean which is always nice to see. Looking through the beer selection the stores growler filling station immediately caught my eye. As I was looking, a worker walked over and offered free samples of every beer they had on draft (there were about 10). He was also super knowledgeable about different breweries across the state and the latest trends etc and we had an enjoyable beer conversation. I ended up getting a 32 oz growler of Lagunitas TrIPA which was delicious! I will definitely stop in again to see other beers they have in cans as well as available in growlers! read more

Top Shelf is a very clean, welcoming store. They've got a huge liquor selection and they're more than willing to put in a special order for anything they don't stock. 6-pack beer selection is pretty solid but not quite exhaustive, although they've got one of the largest selections of cold craft beer in the coolers. Craft singles are limited to one shelving unit, and the selection isn't that great, so if you're looking to build your own sixer, I'd head elsewhere. They've also got a pretty good selection of wines, malt bevs/coolers, and mixers. Top Shelf has an EXPANSIVE selection of every type of liquor. I'd imagine this would be the first place to check for hard-to-find items you might be looking for. It's clean and the aisles are well stocked with the hugest variety I've seen in a long time. I found my Crabbies alcoholic ginger beer there! The owner was nice, as was the young man working the counter. The bottle return, though, does not include a machine that you operate. It's just a closet or room with a big conveyor belt for the employees to use, but you are responsible for counting your bottles, shoving them on the floor of this room and giving the total to the cashier. The deposit is put towards the purchase, so forget about cashing in and leaving w/o purchase. I feel like I need to put this store into my regular rotation for top shelf liquors. This store has a good selection of liquor. Until today I would stop by whenever I was in the area and buy anything interesting they had. After today I can honestly say I don't know if I will ever step foot in this establishment again. I called to inquire if they had any bottles of a limited release in stock, which they did. After a series of 3 different phone calls and two separate employees (The owner was off for the day, so maybe he wasn't aware of the price gouging) I was quoted a price that was $110 ABOVE state minimum, almost TRIPLE the state minimum price! While other stores had sold their allotment for state minimum or $10-20 above, Top Shelf decided to price gouge it's customers for the sake of short term profit. I understand the concept of supply and demand and they are within their right to price gouge as they are doing, but goodwill and public image is also a currency, and Imho they traded some short term profit for long term losses of the latter. read more

Went here recently to stock up for the holidays. Customer in the store without a mask, after looking at him with mine on he pulled one out of his pocket and put it on. The clerk walks out of the back to the counter and has no mask on-made no attempt to put one on. I left and won't be coming back. read more

The owner is disgustingly rude. My fiance and I are in there all the time including today. The owner was upset when my fiance asked the price of a certain tequila and told him he doesn't want to look up the price because he never buys anything anyways. He also turned the lottery machine off early when we were winning because he was tired of cashing tickets. I just spent $60 in there today and was planning on spending a whole lot more next week for a post covid vaccination celebration party. We will NEVER give him our business again! We constantly support private owned businesses but this is one that deserves nothing!!! read more

I'm new to Allen Park and was looking forward to buying my alcohol from Top Shelf. Visited today- all of the shoppers had masks on, but none of the employees (3) behind the counter had masks on. Face coverings are mandated by law in the state of Michigan. I left and will not be shopping at Top Shelf Liquors in the future. I was looking for a specific craft brew one time and unfortunately they were sold out, but Mike asked me to wait a minute and he got on the phone and called the brewery to order more cases!!
