    We actually passed this place trying to look for it. It doesn't like what the photos people posted, well at least not recent. Inside it has a tavern like atmosphere. There's one gentleman that works the front, he sat us and took our order. My wife and I did the lunch specials. I did the appetizer and entre which were the half a dozen burgundy snails with garlic sauce and the chicken with Camembert. The snails were really good with the garlic sauce. The chicken pairs well with the cheese sauce and potatoes. My wife ordered the onion granny soup which was ok. Her entre was the Duck Confit and it was a bit dry. She also had dessert, the crème brûlée. It was pretty good. I did get the chance to try out a shot of Absinthe. Didn't realize it was a licorice type of taste, not a fan but it was a cool experience. The service was not too bad since there's one gentleman running the front.

    Subpar meal with surprisingly good service. Very touristy place, though I can't attest to the authenticity of the food. We came here at 10PM and they were able to seat us immediately. The reason for three stars, though, is that I ordered some sort of salmon tartare and it was just weird. A little bitter and cold, with overdressed salad on top, the whole dish altogether was just strange and unappetizing. The mashed potatoes at the bottom were fine, but combined with everything else, just didn't seem all that good. My friend had a 40% off coupon, otherwise, I wouldn't be able to justify paying a hefty price for an overall mediocre meal.

    Good, authentic French cuisine. Went here with a group of friends. The restaurant is about 120 years old (unfortunately they did not have a copy of the original menu - I would have loved to see that!). The current offerings were French classics, well-prepared if not the best I have had. I ordered Escargots, and for a main I got Beef Tartare. Both were very tasty. I would recommend this to anyone wanting to get an authentic French experience near Montmartre.

We managed to get a 9pm reso, last minute, I bet due to a cancellation. They have 2seatings...6pm & 9pm.

Making a reservation isn't hard but you do need to email them and there's no online booking system. You also have to confirm again 1-2 days before. I understand they are small with a limited number of tables so that's fair and it seemed like everyone showed up even though they don't require a deposit. On a Friday night, it didn't appear there was much chance or walking in although there were like 2 open seats at what would have been a shared table. The menu is small and includes some typical French starters, steaks, 3 non steak entrees, cheeses, and dessert. All steaks come with potatoes, 3 sauces, salad. Service was a highlight. The waiter was personable and funny, had solid recommendations, and made sure leftovers were taken home. Also had a solid wine recommendation after asking some questions. They probably get a lot of people who don't speak French and they had no problem speaking English. The food- ordered a ribeye medium rare. The steak was so so charred on the outside and it almost ruined the whole thing. I really wish they would have charred it way less especially when it was ordered medium rare. There is seared and then there is burnt; this was sadly the latter. The steak itself was fine, honestly nowhere near the best meat I have had but the price is quite reasonable for how much you get. I would say the steak was maybe 6/10 for me, largely due to the cooking. The fries were phenomenal. Definitely a highlight and really tasty and with a great texture. Salad was good, pretty typical. I wanted to like the sauces more but found them just okay. The best by far for me was the blue cheese sauce but even this one I thought the flavors could have popped a little more. Atmosphere was fun, there were a few bigger groups (6-8 which is the biggest they accommodate) but it never got unreasonably loud. Overall I wanted to love it but was a bit disappointed even though the service and fries were both great.

We were so looking forward to the frog legs, onion soup and other delicacies pictured. We got there and the sign was just as it was with the same name -- Au Pied du Sacre Coeur. We should've noticed something was wrong when no one was inside. When the waiter (lone person working along with cook) gave us the menu, my wife and I stared at each other completely confused. The menu looked nothing like the ones on this website and featured Italian food items, like spaghetti, arroz con pollo or mozarella. I asked him about frog legs or the onion soup. He looked confused and just said no. Out of respect for him, we just ordered the charcuterie, which featured stale bread and a few slices of meat taken from my local grocery store in the U.S. Also -- they claimed to not accept any international credit cards. WHAT HAPPENED? Are all these reviews fake? Most likely, they underwent new ownership right when we visited. But new visitors -- please beware. Do not trust any of the reviews before mine. If I was mistaken, please post photos and just tell me that I was part of some elaborate joke to ruin a lunch for me and my wife.

But he was friendly ( oh, and easy on the eyes). I liked the quiet location out of the chaotic fray, like up the street, with all its smoking and volume. PS This is lover's type of location. Even the dark end of the small street feels illicit!
