As a shopaholic and fashion whore, I agree that Le Bon Marche is a beautiful store and you should stop in and browse, admire the fashion and cool escalators. However, you should be prepared to relive the scene from Pretty Woman on Rodeo Drive. If you don't look like you are dripping in Isabel Marant or Goyard, the staff won't invest too much energy in helping you. I was disappointed with the lack of interest in me as I walked around the store as I was a woman armed with a Platinum Visa and a huge spending limit, unfortunately for Le Bon Marche, the icy reception led me straight to Printemps and Galeries Lafayette where the staff is a little warmer. read more

Simply loved this place. There is an abundance of merchandise displayed in tasteful and organized manner. The employees were surprisingly towards non-French foreigners and were very helpful. Many staffs would help look for items even when it doesn't lead to their commission. It is not as crowded as Galerie Lafayette and the mood was simply more relaxed and luxurious. read more

A beautiful department store that could fulfill all any heart's desires. I was lucky that my hotel was only a short walk to this mall and quickly hit up the Celine and Chanel boutiques inside. It was super convenient that they had a VAT refund office on the very top floor for tourists to get their taxes back. Yes, this is a very expensive place, but it was also a great experience. This review is only for the wine cellar area called "La Cave". After multiple days in Paris trying different red wines (Bordeaux), we were extremely disappointed. While chocolate-shopping at Henri Le Roux, we expressed our frustration to the woman helping us and she suggested that we try La Cave. She says that she loves it there and the wine qualities are much better than what you can find at Nicolas. She even drew us a map on a sheet of paper and said it was only a 10-15 minute walk. When we arrived at the mall, we asked a security guard where the wine was and he said downstairs (lowest level). I would have never guessed that something like this would be in a department store (not in US at least). Every wall was covered with bottles of wine. I approached a man at the counter for help, and we explained that we were looking for a Cabernet Sauvignon and not so much a Bordeaux. He asked a few more questions and directed us towards a specific wall and gave fantastic suggestions that fit in our price range (up to 30 euros/bottle). We ended up buying one bottle to drink ASAP, one bottle to drink in a year, and another bottle to drink in a few years. Now that we are back home in the states, we drank the asap bottle and it was amazing, dry and flavorful just like what we wanted in a cabernet sauvignon (although it was called something different in french). We paid 28 euros for it, but it would cost us about $200 to try to obtain a bottle here. I can't wait to try the other two bottles (after they've aged)! read more

Le Bon Marché is my favorite department store in Paris // the world. It's beautifully designed, never overly crowded, and has a great selection of brands. The people working there are always friendly and helpful. The buyers at Le Bon Marché know their stuff, and when sales happen, some amazing deals can be found. read more

I didn't get anything from here but I came during an event where almost half the store was up to 40% off and this was not during sale season. You just have to apply for their loyalty card (everyone can get it). read more

Not my cup of tea, but it was a fine place to check out as a tourist in the 6th arrondissement. There are multiple levels of high-end fashion and homeware. It's a very bright and clean atmosphere that was more reminiscent of a museum rather than a mall. read more

When I Landed in Paris i was organized I had emailed The Bon Marche personal shopping department and told them what I was looking for during their semi annual in January and they filled a room with my sizes. It saved tons of time and they nailed my look!!! Great experience. Had lunch in the store while they hemmed my pants. The in store restaurant was delicious! Will go back. read more

I like Printemps Homme (for men) so much better than Le Bon Marché and even Galeries Lafayette. Galeries provides more options than Le Bon Marché but neither of those two compare to Printemps. Le Bon's haphazard shoe collection floor for men lacks depth and is relatively poorly curated. Women will love it here, however, and my wife spends more time cruising the clothes racks here than Galeries or Printemps. read more

I figured since i was staying in the Rive Gauche i may as well stop in. Its so cool to buy high end euro goods and not have to deal with the annoying import tax that we have to here in the States. Got a pair of Margiela sneakers for 100 USD less than what i would have paid here (not to mention the tax on them) and you also get a tax refund. That was quick and fast procedure. The store is great. Has the feeling of a grand old department store. Sales staff was as per usual at a large department store. blah. read more

Just a wonderful shopping oasis! It's extremely pricey and most of the designers we can get in any big city in the U.S. I couldn't afford any of the clothing for women, but a huge selection. I had a field day in the boy's department (I have 2 young sons) and the toy department too. I'd say save your time and money for the Grand Epicerie attached through the wine cellar in the -1 level. That's where I spent my money on wonderful food choices, twice! read more

Lots of high end stuff (men and women's) without the pretentiousness -- just remember your bonjours and mercis. Not much "wow factor" but I come here with a purpose: If you don't like crowds and want to take your time buying a few Celine bags (for example) come on a weekday during the day! I live 3 minutes away on the left bank and I'm pretty much obsessed with Le Bon Marché. I mean let's be real, everything is too freakin expensive but I love walking around les TBM. This is the department store all the cool Parisians go to. Save yourself from the crowd!! Forget Galeries Lafayette and Printemps and come to le bon marché instead. read more

Lafayette go home, this is THE department store of Paris. The place is beutifully designed and houses everything from books, magazines, home- and cookware, clothing and the most impressive food hall. Save yourself from the crowds of Lafayette, visit Le Bon Marché - at least for their stair escalators. read more

Baguette: € 1.20. The only thing affordable here. Most of the items are grossly overpriced. Lots if fruit flies in the produce section. Being from the USA, I can appreciate the beauty of this fancy grocery store, but it does not justify the 3-4 times mark up. Shop at Monoprix instead. There is more variety and better priced there. And watch for those fruit flies. Come on! Get control over your insect problem. read more

A great department store with an eclectic assortment of high end designers with some of their own house brands. Chanel, Gucci, Chloe and etc all have their little boutiques within the store. The set up of the store is similar to that of a bloomingdales back in the states, where each section is set off by designer. They also do have a a shoe salon and a seperate women's shoe section. The men's clothing is on the first floor and they also carry some great designers. Unfortunately I cannot afford anything here, but their sales during July seem to be a great bargain. The decor is very pleasing, but it was very crowded when I stopped by. read more

No doubt, for a while, this was t h e department store in Paris. Lately, is has become a bit dusty round the edges. The bag department in particular looks decidely tired. Another thing that really gets on my nerves there are the staff who absolutely pounce on you whenever you as much as look as anything. Not in a good way mind, i.e. trying to be helpful, but in a way that almost says hands off my goods. Even the Grand Epicerie has lately become less grand; teas are very weak, and fruit is better on the other side of the road at a fruit stall. I prefer going to Galeries Lafayettes at the moment. read more

Le bon marche is a similar department store to Galeries Lafayette or Printemps. Bon marche is located on the left bank below the river. I found that it was a little smaller than the other two stores but also more quiet. I liked this store, it doesn't have the wow factor like Galeries Lafayette but is beautiful in its own right. The food hall is nice and everything seems a little more personal. The area that the store is in (St Germain) is also worth a walk around. read more

The store have very friendly staff. The cafes are wonderful too. The prices are the same as the small company stores but carry less variety. I question the quality. My wife bought 3 fabrics for 650 euros each and back at the hotel I noticed that there was a fade line where the fabric must have been on a hanger for a long time. I bought a pair of very comfortable Paul Smith shoes (350 euros) and three days later the stitching was coming apart. My wife bought a nice evening dress for 1200 euros and a button came off the next day. I am OK if Target or HM sells such articles but, really, when I pay such an amount I expect better workmanship. I would recommend that the buyer play close attention to details of the item and when you find what you want, that the style fits you, go to the company store to make the purchase. (Makes me wonder if the Bon Marche buys seconds instead of top quality.) All of the articles we bought at company stores are problem free. read more

I used to shop at Le Bon Marché quite often as it is close to my home but after witnessing the unprofessional staff and horrible customer service two times now, I have stopped. 1. I dropped off a Chloé purse for repair as the leather was becoming worn down and it took them 9 months to get back to me, after countless calls, emails... The tanner had ruined my purse while trying to salvage the leather three months after dropping it off and the Bon Marché did not tell me anything until I sent an email to the head of customer service who then had the Chloé manager call me and tell me that I had dropped off the purse in a horrible state but that they would give me a new one but could not tell me when, if it would be the same model or even color. Mine was a limited edition and it was not until Chloé took over that I was told the truth about the tanner's mistake... It took le Bon Marché 9 months to tell me a vague lie, it took Chloé 3 days to give me my brand new purse. 2. I bought a pair of ballerina shoes at the Chanel shoes section at le Bon Marché three weeks ago. As it was my first pair, I was very unsure about sizes. The sales associate recommended I buy the slightly smaller size as apparently they stretched out quite a lot... I wore them the next day, within ten minutes my feet were bleeding. I called them and if I hadn't asked to speak to a manager, I would have had to keep them the way they are. The manager offered to send them to their shoemaker and said it would take no more than a week as it was a quick job. It's been three. When I called, the new manager had just come back from vacation and therefore had only dropped them off at the shoe maker a week and a half after I had dropped them off at the store... I am shocked and appalled by the lack of professionalism and customer service this so called luxurious department store has to offer and would recommend no one buying anything valuable at the store or trust them with any sort of repairs. read more
