An exceptional little gem of a restaurant, serving delicious fresh ingredients cooked to perfection.
Many choices of pasta, gnocchi, risotto, pizza, and veal, plus daily specials and house made desserts.
We were blown away by the Pesce alla Griglia special: perfectly cooked sea bass ("bar" en Français), served with scallops, shrimp, and cuttlefish (tastes like calamari), over delicious fresh veggies, with a cup of tomato basil sauce that I could have drank like soup it was so good. In the SF Bay Area this would have been a $40 dish at least, I couldn't believe it was only 20€!
My wife loved the linguine vongole (pasta with clams) and our kiddo raved about the perfect crust on a simple pizza margherita.
Don't over do it, you MUST save room for dessert, the warm chocolate cake, tiramisu, and panna cotta with berries were all sublime.
Service was friendly and welcoming, even though we were maybe the only group that arrived sans reservations--They were still able to seat us quickly.
This is no tourist trap, most of the clientele were speaking in French, but the menus have English translation (except specials on the blackboard titled in Italian with French descriptions), and the staff all speak English.
The dining space is warm and dark, but casual, no candles, tablecloths, nor cloth napkins. It's a small room, maybe a dozen tables, close together but not cramped, not quiet, but not too loud either.
Dinner for three, including desserts and drinks, came to 100€ -- we can't wait to return! read more
