Living in St Louis which is has a terrific Italian section with dozens of Italian restaurants and having been to Italy several times we had to travel to Paris to have the best Italian food we've ever had, my wife who is picky said that it was the best food of any kind she's ever had and you have no idea what a statement that is. I had the Rigatoni Bolognese and it was spot on, the Mrs had the Fagottini Boscaiola and we determined that their secret ingredient is angel tears, the angels cry because they can't eat here. I had to note the prices...VERY reasonable for Paris compared to other areas, and the place was also packed, so we figured we would come back. Items ordered: Spaghetti Bolognese- 4 stars. This bolognese was meaty, hearty, great portion, and the pasta was quite delicious. And...I think the price is what makes it a great value. Spaghetti Carbonara- 5 stars. I thought "ew" to the raw egg at first, and didn't want to touch this dish, but I had a couple bites and was shockingly blown away. I have long long ago stopped eating carbonara because of the egg. Somehow, the egg didn't scramble up into a scrambled egg bit as I was expecting, and somehow coated the noodles just enough to provide a cream basis. I judged the book by its cover here. This was the better dish. Service- A little above Paris standard, if that makes sense. Lovely ambiance and decor, and a great bang for your buck for the quality is what I can say. In my personal standard it's a 4 star, but for Paris standard, this is a 5 star possibly. read more

A pretty good Italian place we stumbled upon after spending HOURS in the Louvre and deciding to walk, half starving, to the Eiffel Tower and stop somewhere and eat along the way. For my meal I ordered the vegetarian pizza as it had peppers, onion, mushroom, artichokes, and I feel like another 1-2 veggies on it. They messed it up and brought out some chicken pizza and then told me that I had pointed at that on the menu, but I know I had both spoken and pointed at the right pizza so that was a no and they had to go and re-cook me the vegetarian. My husband ordered their standard spaghetti and they brought out some cheese and hot red pepper flakes for him. He loves spicy so he put like two giant scoops of those dry peppers on his spaghetti and he regretted it bc they are much hotter in Paris apparently than the ones we get in the USA! He drank all his water and half of mine and still said his mouth and lips were on fire. Haha. My pizza was out in about 5 minutes after they took the wrong one back and it was very good and fresh with lots of veggies on it. It's probably too big for one person to eat all of it so I ate about half of it and picked off the veggies I wanted. Our service was pretty good - we were promptly greeted and welcomed at the door and sat on a small enclosed glass patio facing the sidewalk. We had tried to go into a few other restaurants and we were snubbedd away, but this little gem of a restaurant welcomed us with open arms! The sugar on top was perfectly golden brown and the texture of the creme was perfect. Not too watery, not too flan-y. I really recommend getting this!! The food was very expensive for the quality. The pesto linguine was the worst pesto I've ever had. The tiramisu was the most pitiful little slice. I really don't understand the good reviews. Had an incredible bad experience here today with my 8-year old son after a long visit to Eiffel Tower. Starter ham and melon were just large chunks of melon and simple slices of ham with no seasoning or any effort put into it. Very average. Pizza margarita was a sea of melted cheese and disgusting. My son, an avid margarita lover, rejected it after just a few bites. I checked it as well and could only agree. No waiter was seen during the entire meal to check in if all was well. The spaghetti vongole was very average, apart from finding a full size 2cm rock in my food. Finally I was able to signal a waiter and complain about both the pizza and the rock. I refused to pay for such a bad and truly disgusting pizza. Both the head waiter and the waitress started arguing immediately, stating that the margarita contained tomato sauce and cheese, hence is a margarita, regardless of the taste. They also argued that the rock in the vongole dish should be considered a normal occurrence. I should pay the full price, which I refused obviously. I insisted that I would only pay for the remaining average dishes (which I considered not even worth the money) and they threatened to call the police. I told them to do that and after some further arguments they reluctantly deducted the pizza from the bill. This was an appalling experience after a great one at Eiffel Tower (even considering their queues). Anything good you might wonder? The bread and bottled drinks were up to expectation, luckily most likely not homemade. Do yourself a BIG BIG favor, keep walking and find another place should you consider eating here. Summary: Go here, if you want to ruin your night out in Paris. It makes this experience so upsetting because I feel like I got more than just a bad service here, I think I experienced racism here. I couldn't help but to notice the condescending and rude tone and gesture of our waiter, from the way he took our order to laying our dinnerware. Later when I found a hair in my champagne glass and asked for exchange, he picked up my glass and rubbed the hair off the glass and told me " It's Okay, it's on the outside" and put the glass back down.
