The restaurant is very 'chef-y': unique menu items, high quality ingredients, no doubt a hipster eccentric culinary graduate running the kitchen. A romantic little Italian restaurant, hidden in the alleyways of elBorn. It doesn't feel like you are even in the restaurant. It's so charming and the service is so warm you feel like you are visiting a good friend's house for dinner. The menu changes daily and presented to you on a chalk board. Our lovely waitress went over every item in detail. We shared burrata salad and both had a main course.The serving is very generous so keep that in mind. I gave it one star because Yelp would not recognize zero stars. The pasta was overcooked and gummy, served with nondescript sauce. I think the sauce was pesto because it was green. Olive oil coated the bottom of the plate like an oil slick. The fish flakes had no flavor and I can't tell you what species of fish I was eating. The meal was not edible. read more

Awesome little place in the Gothic Quarter. They have a short menu that changes everyday, and there were intricate and simple dishes alike. I had the basic spaghetti with tomato sauce, and it was delicious. I would definitely return, and I highly recommend it. read more

This is an intimate/small restaurant, so it fills up quickly. The chefs double as servers! The staff provided pleasant and thorough service. Everyone appeared to be bilingual, at minimum. Ordered burrata, veal chops, and fettuccine with pesto and cream sauce. All of the food had a fresh taste (I witnessed them use a microwave to head dishes, though) and the chef plated the meals well. The following downsides discomforted my spouse and myself. First, as we waited to enter the restaurant someone walked out with a huge, hairy dog. The restaurant is so small that if the dog shed hair, then, surely, it went into the kitchen, on the chairs and table. Albeit unlikely, we hoped and prayed that we weren't seated anywhere near where the male patron and dog were seated. Second, our table was situated in front of the kitchen. We dined in this area for an hour, at least. During this time, not once did we witness the chefs wash their hands. They handled dishes, served food, wiped away sweat, cut bread, and sprinkled cheese on pasta without washing their hands or using disinfectant hand gel. As stomach turning as it was to witness this, I chose to ignore (superficially) this unsanitary behavior and determine it to be part of Spanish culture because I was hungry, it was 10:30pm, and I craved Italian food. However, I might look for another small Italian restaurant that appears more sanitary, which, I admit, you cannot confirm, often, prior to patronizing a venue. Cozy restaurant run by Italians. This certainly is not a touristy place, the cooking is authentic and they serve high quality food. The portions are quite big. We had a delicious Burrata coming directly from Italy, Lasagna, mushrooms Fettuccine and Pesto Fettuccine, duck ham (personally cured by Anna, one of the two chefs), Lemon brased Lamb and many other dishes.. Every one of them was superlative. Desserts were good too varying from traditional Neapolitan Pastiera, Cassata and Cannoli to several types of Cheesecake. Broad selection of Italian wines. I have so much to say about this small and cute spot. We were very excited to try it out. We came in with no reservations, off the bat they were super rude and snobby to us tourists for not having reservations. We were finally seated we asked for a glass of wine and they gave us a bottle and they argued that it was too bad it was already opened. The food came and was literally awful. We didn't touch it. The tuna pasta was super fishy not tasty. Our overall experience was not pleasant. They came off as unkind, judgmental, left us to believe we were not welcome and only for locals. We showed up without a reservation, was seated in an appropriate pleasant location commensurate with that fact, and 1:45 h later we strolled out satiated in all gustatory respects. After reading the reviews here we were hoping for a really great Italian meal but on the whole we were underwhelmed. The appetisers were good. We shared the duck ham and the vegetables which offered interesting and exciting taste combinations, just what I look for in Italian food. The portions were not large. For our pastas we had the swordfish, the asparagus shells and a lasagne. All of which were disappointing, especially the asparagus shells, which were covered in asparagus goop and filled with soft cheese goop. The swordfish taste strongly of anchovies in oil and was quite oily. Our waitress was moderately helpful, if somewhat professional. Cool interiors. We wouldn't go back. read more

This was some of the best pasta I have ever had; my boyfriend and I debated if not the very best pasta ever! We were lucky to get a table for dinner without a reservation because we were first in the line that formed in front of the door while we waited for it to open. It's a small restaurant, so make a reservation or get there early. We started with the antipasto which was excellent. We had the fettuccine americano and the tortellini with spinach. Both were exceptional!! The tortellini comes in a very rich cream sauce so it may be a bit much if that's all you're eating. The fettuccine was absolutely sublime!!! It's simple, but exquisite!!! The best I think I've ever had!! My boyfriend couldn't stop eating it off my plate! We ended with a piece of chocolate cake that was just ok; next time I'll order the cheesecake. They had issues with our reservation, but were polite about it and got us seated quickly. Service was very friendly and warm. The pastas tasted a little overcooked, but were still okay. I think they may have been frazzled given the reservation challenges they had, so I would give them another shot due to the cool atmosphere and good menu. This small family restaurant is tucked away in a quaint passageway near the Gothic quarter. We had lunch there, and it was very good. My fondest memory of our meal was the dessert, which was incredible. Desserts are made daily, and the white chocolate cheesecake (with preserved cherries) was a knockout. I found this place on Yelp because it said they have pizza. They don't make pizza. Apparently they don't even come out to help customers. We went in, no one was there but we could hear them in the kitchen, I could have helped myself to anything at the bar. We moved chairs around to make noise, no one came. After about ten minutes of sitting with no one coming out we left and went to the tapas place across from the theatre. Inexpensive, More crowded atmosphere, and we were actually helped right away. I can't believe how great this little gem is but don't think you can just walk in! Call ahead for a reservation. Booked every night and it is a very small place. You won't regret it. Don't be put off by the funny alley it's in or the lack of signage. The pasta's are insanely good, and the Burrata cheese appetizer melts in your mouth and is a must try.
