    Marbled, minimal interiors.

Le Chateaubriand is next door, and Le Dauphin is their wine bar featuring organic/biodynamic French vin and minimal cuisine, in a cool space. We visited for a luncheon experience that was very good all around. Each dish was unique without being too weird - thankfully, the pan-fried Dover sole was treated like a straightforward classic French dish. (I think it would have been soulless to mess with sole!) Service was accomplished, yet, very casual, in the 'no worries' style. Again, wine list features off-beat "natural" French wines. Every hip restaurant in Paris features these 'outsider' wines, whether you like these or not, is the question! Having dined at Le Chateaubriand the night before, I preferred the luncheon cuisine served at Le Dauphin. Plus, the interiors at the wine bar are much more interesting than the main restaurant set-up, that's for sure. Apparently, the wine bar space was designed by Rem Koolhaas and Clement Blanchet, with white marbled walls and ceilings, and anything else they could cover with it, they did! Wooden tables and chairs soften the hard space. Makes for a sleeker than sleek wine bar, and I imagine at night it gets really loud when jam packed! When we visited during the day, we were their first booking, so, we had the place mostly to ourselves, until around 1 p.m. when table after table filled it. During the day was a great time to visit, as I think max natural light shows off the interiors best. All in all, I would go back to this place, whereas I cannot say the same about Le Chateaubriand.

Le Dauphin is a tapas-style place with the same chef as Le Chateaubriand. I came with a group of friends and we got a lot of dishes, ranging from snails to beef slices with truffle to crab meat. Everything was really tasty and I'm glad I was recommended this place.

Le Dauphin is the perfect place to drop in last minute, park up at the bar, and enjoy exquisite french tapas. The velvety squid ink risotto, the pork belly with sinfully crispy skin, and the creamy mushroom velouté all rank up there as some of the best bites in Paris. Despite the marble and mirror décor (which is more 80s nightclub then intimate tapas bar) the atmosphere is surprisingly laid back. So if the line at le Châteaubriand next door is just too long, Le Dauphin is a sure bet for an interesting and satisfying meal, with enough oddball flavor combos (like white asparagus with pickled kumquats) to please the true foodies and enough hearty staples (like buratta or crispy pork belly) to please the rest.

We came here to get a drink while waiting for a table at Le Chateaubriand and ended up getting a few tapas that were phenomenal.

It's a bit off the beaten path from the touristy spots in Montmarte. We sat up at the bar to watch the chef cook. We ordered the 45Euro tasting menu and every course was an unexpected surprise and really delicious! At first we were not really looking forward to the tapas part of the menu but it was really just small plates which is fine when you're eating such rich dishes. The foie gras, cod with cockles, beef filet were our favs. The wait staff was great and the chef really slay us with not just two dessert courses but three. I got to have my Amelie moment when cracking the creme brûlée! We left so stuffed and happily down the hill. Definitely going coming back here when were in town, I can't recommend it more!

High points were the cod, filet of beef, asparagus, foie gras with beans, and chocolate croquettes which needed a bit more ice cream to finish. A nice pinot noir melded with the clean flavors - especially nice after a week of eating rich classic French food. Three people do it all - two cooks and one waitress - but all three also seat guests, do dishes, take payment, serve food. A commune of sharing tasks. And all the cooking is done behind the bar. To me it seemed to be a Japanese sushi bar with Spanish tapas flavors with French attention to quality and detail. Highly recommended!

The tomato and burrata salad was amazing: we ordered 3! Only downside is the smokers at the door fill the small space with their smoke, so beware.

We got there early and were able to snag seating. (It got packed later on). Anywho, as the (cool) name suggests, this place is run by two bald guys lol. Overall super chill vibes here, and a great place to grab drinks. Let's talk about the drinks. They have 3 amazing beers on tap : page 24 IPA, Brooklyn lager, and st stefanus. During happy hour, they're only 5€ a pint. Say what? Delicious craft beer on happy hour? Say no more - I'm already there! Haha. The beer selection was what drew me in here, but I was very pleasantly surprised by the food selection (refer to photos). You can order a mont d'or (delicious melted cheese with potatoes!!! YUM), beef meatballs, rillettes, tartines, thai food, etc....that's on top of the standard bar planche offerings. It appears the food menu may change on a daily basis, because it had the date on it and seemed to have been freshly printed. Any who, I went with the planche. Let's talk about the planche : filling and quality products - delicious! Especially the rillettes were amazing! The bread they served us with it was also pretty tasty. If you split a large planche between 2 people, I guarantee you will not leave hungry. I had trouble finishing it and I have a large appetite. As for seating, if you want to come and sit and you are a large group, that might be difficult. Fortunately, only 5 of us came out and we were all able to fit at one table, but the bar is small and only has seating for groups of like 4/5 or 2. (You can still obviously come in large groups - just maybe don't expect seating at the same table.) The decor in the bar has a hip Brooklyn vibe and the staff are chill. The only slight downside was that they were having problems with some of the kegs/beers on tap (it was a new system) and so sometimes there was a little wait before being served. That could happen to anybody though and was beyond their control so I won't hold that against them. The beers were worth the wait and filled to the brim :) Overall, 5 stars - so happy to have found a cool spot to drink page 24 beer!
