Even though there were no seats available we switch gears as soon as we spotted this place, planked our elbows on the bar and got down to businesses testing some of the exciting tapas items on the hand-drawn menu. I had been in Brussels for over 24 hours and had yet to have anything fried, so fried was on my eating agenda. Cod fritters and fried mussels (which neither I nor my Brussels-born companion had ever seen) sounded like the perfect late afternoon snack to accompany our chat (as well as a glass of crisp white whine, what the hey?!). Since our spot at the bar was smack in front of the outdoor kitchen we were able to see everything prepared before our eyes. The mussels were steamed on the grill to get them out of their shell, then each one was coated in a light bread crumb mix and fried up fresh. Served with homemade tartar sauce they were beyond perfection: juicy, slightly spicy, crisp. The cod fritters were equally delicious in their tempura crust, but the mussels stole the show for sure. Who knew that you could have an authentic seaside experience in the heart of Brussels? Not me! But now that I've discovered this place you can guarantee I will be back every chance I get!

This is the worst Tapas bar I've ever been to!…read more My boyfriend and I ordered Paella Valencia, potatoes with aioli, mixed salad, Spanish salad and marinated spareribs. They didn't automatically give us bread while we were waiting, we had to ask for it. So we finally got our bread which was surprisingly very bad! What kind of tapas bar that serves dry sandwich-bread without oil, butter or aioli??? That's like eating sushi without soya saus! The rest of the food was pretty lame as well. The paella tasted a bit old, the potatoes were soft and cold, spareribs were just alright but the salads were pretty good though (but how hard is it to make salad)? The service was just weird and awkward! The waiters tried to ignore us, they looked annoyed every time we asked for something (such as salt and bread)! Don't waste your time here!

We generally get between 6 and 8 dishes and that is more than sufficient for the both of us. You either just order the dishes you want or hey give you a card to fill in the quantities per tapas. Only comment I would have is that their bathroom lacks soap, that is a must for me. Service is in French or English, I've not tried Dutch as most of the city speaks French.

The service was incredibly friendly and considerate. We were first placed at a very small table, but before ordering our server made sure we had a better place when another party left. I ordered a dark beer, forever wonderful. and the Belgian stew made with beer. It was just a fairly adequate portion and came with small slices of dark bread in it. After having some wonderful stews in Belgium this stew was disappointing. The beer chunks was very chewy with a lot of fat and grizzle. The gravy was tasteless. It came wirh fries which were good. My dining companions had the specialty of Brussels with potato, bacon and sausage. I tried some and regretted not getting it. It was far better The bread that came with the meal was ordinary. This seems to be a place that primarily attracts tourists. That's understandable knowing the location. There's both inside and outdoor seating.
