    Onion soup and French fries

This place is convenient and is the only restaurant opened all day. We were very hungry and wanted to eat early. Service was slow and inattentive but I believe they were understaffed. This was the only disappointing meal I've had in Normandy. The soup was very under seasoned and the fries were just ok.

We loved our meal there. I had mussels Camembert and my wife had 4-cheese omelette. The baked apple dessert with cream and Carmel sauce was to die for! Highly recommend.

I'm from NYC and am a foodie. I love eating in different types of places all over the world. This place was very convenient and pretty. Although convenience doesn't mean the food tasted good. I would have given one star but they took back their food and gave me a refund. I didn't know what to order so I ordered their ham and I ordered a spaghetti, just to be safe in case the ham was bad. Ham I felt was a safe meat, it's fairly easy to make and usually comes pre prepared. All you have to do is heat it up. The ham I got was extremely dry and tasted like sandpaper. I was very disappointed but eagerly awaiting my spaghetti. The spaghetti finally came and it was burnt and had no sauce. I don't know how one can mess up a spaghetti in which you have to boil. I've never heard of a "sautéed" spaghetti that didn't have sauce. I don't know where the French pride was in this cooking but it was definitely lacking. How this was acceptable for people to eat from the French who are culinary Kings, I do not understand.

Bad service. The waiters will ignore your request no matter how many times you post. We wanted a glass to share the wine!

Good food. Fresh ingredients. The thing about the negative reviews is that once you've been dining in the area for a few weeks, you come to expect greatness with every bite around every corner. The truth is that the average French restaurant will be very good, but they all serve the same sort of fare and you have to hunt out something unique, as in any city. My friend, a Bayeux native, thinks the croque monsieur is the best he's had--the bread was soft and fresh, and perfectly toasted--but then again it's a fried ham and cheese sandwich. With fries. Get the desert sampler for a taste of what Normandy is about--freshness and lightness.

Excellent food and reasonably priced wine. We have had lunch there on a number of our trips to Normandy and it never disappoints.

I had the croque monsieur and it was honestly the best I'd ever had.

We made a reservation here and were surprised to find a very small, very casual shotgun style restaurant. We were seated about 5 tables from the entrance with a good view of how many people were turned away without a reservation. This is a basic crepe restaurant with savory and sweet crepes, and that is about it. Good thing they are really tasty! We stared with a Kir Breton and a Kir Normand - two excellent drinks we would have often while in Normandy. For our crepes we had a Chevrette -- œuf, jambon, chèvre, salade verte et tomate fraiche, and an Antilope -- œuf, jambon, emmental, champignons, tomates cuites, ail. The flavors were outstanding. Mine, the Antilope, had an over easy egg right on top as we would learn most crepes in the city do. The Chevrette did not. For dessert we shared a caramel and pear with Chantilly crepe. In total between savory and dessert, there must be nearly 70 crepes to select from. Really liked it. And service was outstanding.
