    Hake with citrus foam!! Mmmmmmm
    Alice G.

Excellent! Four Stars! Yum Yum Yum! It was 33 Euros for Entree (appetizer), Plat Principal, et Dessert- a good deal! It was our ladies' night, and we booked a table for 7 in advance. We showed up sporadically, drank a bottle of champagne and gabbed until the full party was there. Then finally, we looked at the menu- written on the chalkboards in French. We struggled with exotic words we did not know, and the waiter chuckled and brought us English menus. Funny thing, there were many things on the menu so exotic they did not really translate! An adventure! We all ordered various things- EVERYONE was happy, especially the ladies who split le cote de boef, cooked perfectly medium-rare, seasoned brilliantly, and served on a platter with several cuts, including ribs! My starter was the mushrooms served with Parma ham in a melon puree. Delish. For my plat principal, I had the HAKE, served perfectly sautéed with crispy skin. mmmm.. and a brilliant citrus emulsion and eggplant caviar accompaniment. Finally, against better judgment I enjoyed the chocolat et praline dessert- it was too big and too rich for one- SHARE!!!! The waiter was excellent and gracious, even though with increasing wine, he was flirted with aggressively by our table. Poor man. Nice find, on the street leading up to the Moulin Rouge -which is kind of fun to walk out and see the bright blades spinning at the top of the street- but alas, I am a sucker that way.

Stumbled upon this restaurant when we were roaming around the area for a restaurant. Surprised with a Michelin recognition sticker at their window and was curious. The menu is small & simple, dining room is unpretentious and basic. But food was exceptional! Hubby and I shared an appetiser of rabbit & foie gras terrine, duck magret & wild hake fish as our main course. The preparation and presentation of the dishes were on point. The texture combination of vegetables from carrot purée to a little crunch zucchinis, to confit of fennels and not forgetting the extremely crispy duck magret skin were carefully executed. Service was casual but attentive. Ask for English menu and they will hand out a printed page in English, as for the French menu they have them written on a small black board which will be presented at the table. Price was reasonable for the quality of food and for Michelin ranking restaurant. Total bill with a bottle of red was Euro120. Highly recommend!

Amazing restaurant! It was so good that we went back the next night!! Close to the metro station. Nice but simple space. The food was amazing! Flavor and presentation were outstanding. They had a menu in English and the service was impeccable. The pork was phenomenal and the creme brûlée was the best I ever had...very unique! Wine was awesome too. Can't wait to go back to Paris so I can come back again!!

Tomato stuffed with duck and mashed potatoes.... Uhhhhhh

Throughout our trip from Provence, Basque Country and Paris, I joked that they must hate me for ordering my beef med b/c it was so much tougher compared to our beef. Anyway, it's just different. Our server spoke English fluently and was such a hoot...full of personality & joy. Per his recommendation, we ordered it med-rare b/c it continues cooking table side on the sizzling platter. We ate too much. It's a lot of food to split the cote de boeuf btn two. Comes with very good chubby fries and 3 sauces. TBH, I didn't love the sauces. Luckily we walked 6miles that day and skipped lunch. Started with a garden salad, but sadly we had no room for dessert. Reservations via email. We managed to get a 9pm reso, last minute, I bet due to a cancellation. They have 2seatings...6pm & 9pm.

Making a reservation isn't hard but you do need to email them and there's no online booking system. You also have to confirm again 1-2 days before. I understand they are small with a limited number of tables so that's fair and it seemed like everyone showed up even though they don't require a deposit. On a Friday night, it didn't appear there was much chance or walking in although there were like 2 open seats at what would have been a shared table. The menu is small and includes some typical French starters, steaks, 3 non steak entrees, cheeses, and dessert. All steaks come with potatoes, 3 sauces, salad. Service was a highlight. The waiter was personable and funny, had solid recommendations, and made sure leftovers were taken home. Also had a solid wine recommendation after asking some questions. They probably get a lot of people who don't speak French and they had no problem speaking English. The food- ordered a ribeye medium rare. The steak was so so charred on the outside and it almost ruined the whole thing. I really wish they would have charred it way less especially when it was ordered medium rare. There is seared and then there is burnt; this was sadly the latter. The steak itself was fine, honestly nowhere near the best meat I have had but the price is quite reasonable for how much you get. I would say the steak was maybe 6/10 for me, largely due to the cooking. The fries were phenomenal. Definitely a highlight and really tasty and with a great texture. Salad was good, pretty typical. I wanted to like the sauces more but found them just okay. The best by far for me was the blue cheese sauce but even this one I thought the flavors could have popped a little more. Atmosphere was fun, there were a few bigger groups (6-8 which is the biggest they accommodate) but it never got unreasonably loud. Overall I wanted to love it but was a bit disappointed even though the service and fries were both great.

We were so looking forward to the frog legs, onion soup and other delicacies pictured. We got there and the sign was just as it was with the same name -- Au Pied du Sacre Coeur. We should've noticed something was wrong when no one was inside. When the waiter (lone person working along with cook) gave us the menu, my wife and I stared at each other completely confused. The menu looked nothing like the ones on this website and featured Italian food items, like spaghetti, arroz con pollo or mozarella. I asked him about frog legs or the onion soup. He looked confused and just said no. Out of respect for him, we just ordered the charcuterie, which featured stale bread and a few slices of meat taken from my local grocery store in the U.S. Also -- they claimed to not accept any international credit cards. WHAT HAPPENED? Are all these reviews fake? Most likely, they underwent new ownership right when we visited. But new visitors -- please beware. Do not trust any of the reviews before mine. If I was mistaken, please post photos and just tell me that I was part of some elaborate joke to ruin a lunch for me and my wife.

That's not acceptable. The food, however, was. Hence my difficulty in giving one rating. Our 3 dishes tried were indeed solid. Generous servings of seafood in the bouillabaisse, and I have no qualms whatsoever with my cuise de grenouille and foie gras salads. Bread kept us alive. The free Cote du Rhône glass was appreciated for check-in! Our server had his head permanently at a 30 degree angle, staring at his mobile. Tis a shame. But he was friendly ( oh, and easy on the eyes). I liked the quiet location out of the chaotic fray, like up the street, with all its smoking and volume. PS This is lover's type of location. Even the dark end of the small street feels illicit!
